This is the closest gateway town to the Eastern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It's a good hour drive west to the gate with not a lot in between, so be sure to gas up in town. We also toured Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area which is an hour East. This was the best location for what we wanted to accomplish in the area

The Old Faithful room used to be the garage so it had it's own little driveway and patio..........it was just perfect and it was a bit more private than the other rooms. Although we had our own little patio we chose to use the bigger and more public patio in the back of the house. Robin and Bob were both very welcoming and filled with knowledge (that they shared) about the area. The stay included 3 dogs that were very friendly and fun to be around. The breakfasts were great! One morning we had eggs, they were steamed and perfect. We also had sausage patties, homemade gingerbread muffins, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Everything was very well presented and served. We were offered a couple of muffins for the road. On the morning that we had to leave early to go horseback riding Robin made us breakfast burritos for the road. They were very good. This is probably the best place to stay while in Cody. We had a clean room, VERY comfortable queen beds, unique homemade furniture that is very beautiful and sturdy. The room itself was big and had a fridge, microwave, large kitchen table and more handmade chairs! No breakfast but that's fine. We were greeted with a smile at check in, staff seemed genuinely happy unlike other hotels We have encountered. This place seemed brand new or newly renovated and we LOVED it!! We will be back for sure.
