After we expressed dissatisfaction about the job done and a promise of a return to correct their poor workmanship, we are out thousands of dollars. Stupidly, we agreed to pay Sunready upon their word to return and fix the problems. We paid them in May and received emails confirming they were trying to get a return date.....after several phone calls, we were issued a text in August saying that they did a good job, were paid and wouldn't be returning. They didn't even have to decency to come out to see the problems. Sunready has lots of great reviews, but it in our case they did not honor their word or honor their warranty.

Ralph also installed a better draining system from the downspout at the side of the house and did an excellent job installing new stone between the walkway and our paved driveway. We're so pleased with the maintenance work that it makes us wish that we had known them in 2006 because we're sure that if they had done the original work, none of the subsequent maintenance and adjustments would have been necessary. A couple of businesses didn't respond to my web inquiries or responded weeks later. One local company took several weeks to respond to me, but then pressured me to make a hasty decision and give them a large deposit right away, telling me that they were being "booked up pretty fast". One business stood out with a quick, friendly reply (no pressure), providing me with lots of useful information and an easy e-mail quote: The Cedar Guys. Even though this company is based in the Newmarket area -- and while I used to live in the Newmarket / Aurora area, I now live in Burlington -- the helpful information that Matt e-mailed me as well as his timely response made this an easy decision. We worked out the details via e-mail. On our scheduled day, a truck pulled into my driveway. Rhys and Mike went to work, and voila! A couple of hours later, I had an "instant" green cedar hedge. Now every time I look out my back window, I smile. I am so happy with my new hedge. My yard feels more private, and the extra greenery makes me instantly relax. I was given lots of information about caring for my new hedge, and it has a one-year warranty.

In the real world, you'd unfortunately get one, maybe two of these things when renovating so we feel extremely lucky. They happily worked with the initial estimate (tweaking here and there) until we were completely happy with the plans and cost. The staff and contractors are all extremely kind and helpful. We had a major issue come up, and instead of simply repairing and carrying on they brainstormed and implemented a preventative fix so that the issue would not re-occur in the future. Paul and Maureen were so easy to communicate with and were transparent throughout the entire process. We made multiple changes to our existing plans, and they never hesitated or became frustrated. They also never pushed unnecessary work onto us and went the extra mile numerous times to ensure our house was safe.
