Really disappointed with the lack of professionalism and behaviour of Marshall from this team. After 1 hour of conversation about a deck for our home in which Marshall reassured us that with his years of experience what we wanted would be possible, he provided us with a one page 'scratched out' drawing of the deck design, again reassuring us that this is all we would need for a permit which we emphasized we needed to get. He charged 1000 dollars for this time and drawing as a down payment. Suffice it to say the drawing was far from adequate, the proposed deck would not work without another 1000 dollars to the town to ask for a variance to allow for it's size in proximity to our neighbour which we believe a 'professional' such as Marshall claimed to be would know. We were unable to proceed and told Marshall but he would not return the 1000 dollars or any portion of it, or offer an alternative design, but did claim he had booked the start date with his crew for 2 weeks time from receiving our down payment. we not informed of this-no written contract or verbal discussion, and he did so without us having a valid permit in hand as we stated we needed. He expressed he was out 27,000 dollars in expected income for which we later were sent an invoice. Hopefully the invoice is just another example of his disorganization and not an expected receivable.
