They sent a woman Jeanine, to evaluate the job. Although I had asked her to stop at the house, I just happen to see her leaving the property, and called her cell. She said she had a lot of site visits to make and would call me when she got back to the office, and would also send me an information packet via email. No phone call, no packet. After a month I called her cell, and said that I had received no packet. She said she had sent it; we confirmed my email and I had her send an email confirmation immediately, which I got. I then waited 3 weeks, checking my spam and still nothing. I called the Rutland office explaining the situation, the gentleman on the desk told me Jeanine was next to him dealing with a customer and as soon as she was through she would call me--no call, no packet. After 5 weeks, I tried one last time (owner's request), calling the office. I was put through to Jeanine, who once again said the email must have gone astray, and asked for my email address--again. I responded, before I do that, do you want the job. Her response was "we don't want the job, have a nice day" and hung up. I re-dialed the Rutland office and spoke to April, who represented herself as the manager. She said I had refused to give my email, and I told her my point was if they didn't want the job giving my email yet again was just a further waste of my time. April then repeated the line "we don't want the job, have a nice day" and hung up. I am aware that many of the servicer/trade businesses are short staffed--something I deal with all the time. But the professional and courteous companies thank you for your inquiry, hope you will try them in future, and often offer a referral. They don't string you along for 4 months, offer lame excuses, and then tell you shove your job, but do "have a nice day". Give this Overhead franchise a miss. Will M.

We never got that from them. 2. The crew would start work at around 9 - 9:30 am, take a break around 10:30, leave for lunch at noonish, come back around 1:30 and leave around 3:30 pm. I would guess they put in an average of 4 to 5 hrs a day. The job took 29 days to complete. Our roof is not a complicated one! 3. My husband commented they were the "quietest" roofer ever. Bang...wait 30 seconds, then Bang...wait 30 seconds. You get the idea. 4. The crew smoked cigarettes like choo choo trains. It must be hard to hold a cig and hold a roofing hammer, and place a shingle. They did do a good job of cleaning up their cig butts. 5. The crew size and personnel would change as well. There was one guy who showed up for a day or two and he had a disability that prevented him from climbing a ladder. What!? 6. The owner and the crew always had an excuse as to why they could not put in a full 8 hr work day. 7. Because they were so slow, they came in and worked a few Saturdays. One Saturday when we were gone, a crew member was dropped off and never picked up by his supervisor. He had to ask a neighbor for a ride home. 8. You could never reach the owner by phone. Only phone messages. That in a nutshell is my experience with Roof Over Vermont.

I hired this contractor to do a drywall job in my house that had had some flood damage. He had two…read moremonths to do what was about a 5 day job. I have to say this has been my worst experience with a contractor ever. Can Jason do a good job, in terms of him doing the drywall/mudding , yes, he did for the first day on the job, of course that was the day he got paid the first two payments, after that it went downhill fast. I wanted everything done in XP (water/mold resistant), he brought regular drywall so that had to be taken back. One thing he appears to actually have never read a materials datasheet. Had he have done he would have done the ceiling in 5/.8" as my ceiling is 16" o.c., but he just did it in 1/2", so there may be a problem in the future, I didn't realize this until I read a datasheet to do another job months after. After the first 1 1/2 days he disappeared not to be heard of until I finally called him two weeks later, after that he would bring a crew for like an hour or two in the morning now and then, always after I had called. Worse than that, the crew he brought would be a couple of young guys, who had no idea what they were doing and I discovered had just been hired and this was their first building job. The guys worked hard but the work was done very poorly, also the guys get to breath all the silica dust, I offered them dust-masks but they seemed uninterested. In the end I had to work evenings and weekends to fix the screw ups and finish areas he never got to. I had a schedule with renters coming in. Close to the rental day he just never showed up at a promised data again and that was the last time I heard from him. I had to work into the night hours to ready and get it ready to paint but I didn't do a great job and his poor work, particularly corners and finishing are there for anyone to see if they look closely. I would never recommend you use him, since i am not a drywall / tape 'n mud expert it took me a long time to fix and most of the poor workmanship like bad corners I had no time to fix. I have everything documents in pictures and video if he should challenge the accuracy of this review. This job was a disaster and its the last time I will use a drywall contractor.

After careful review I choose to work with Gmwoodworks. The job went along great. He fixed problems that we never saw under the old siding and wrapped the house properly in tyvek. All the while his workmanship and attention to detail were seccond to none. The way he kept us informed on the progress made us feel like we knew what we were looking at.:) The house has new siding and some stone work under the overhang, and now is by far the nicest in the neighborhood. After he completed the siding we had him quote a new deck out back for us. The price was workably so in two weeks times we had a new deck out back. The deck is curved in the front and covered with compostie decking with composite railings and looks beautiful. The whole structure including footings is solid and we don't expect any problems for many, many years to come.
