While I was there for work in 2025, I tried to eat more healthy food, so that I can reward myself later. One of the best healthy food spots I found was called Green to Go. It is mostly takeout spot, so they don't have many seating options. They offer so many different kinds of salad bowls and such. There are some that are ready-made, or you can ask the super friendly owner lady to make one for you. I got 2 salad bowls, to eat immediately and another for later. I chose Kale & Quinoa and Unicorn. They were super fresh, great texture and flavor. Delightful from the first bite to the last. I went back to Green to Go a few days later for more of their offerings. This time, I got their Daily Special: Spring Vegetable Fettuccini Alfredo. It was nice and hot, and a really good portion too. It was tasty with a good amount of veggies, and the pasta was cooked just right. I also purchased Blue salad bowl to have for later. It was a beauty! Vibrant and so appetizing. Super fresh, great portion, and delicious! I really loved Green to Go salads. It kept me feeling healthy, while being very full and satisfied. It gave me energy to keep going without feeling heavy. It can be a challenge to eat healthy in New Orleans when on a business trip. I was pleasantly surprised to see this place not far from my hotel. I read some reviews about the friendly staff and owner, and I cannot say that I had an experience that stood out one way or the other. I came in and got a pre-made salad and sparking water. All told the cost was around $15 dollars. This is just a bit too expensive for what it is in my opinion. I mean compared to designer salad places where they make a salad in front of you the value does not pop out. The salad I did purchase was fine and the establishment was clean. This is a favorite lunchtime spot. Their salads, wraps, and soups are healthy and very flavorful. My all time favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and the Street Corn Chowder Soup. Their Seasonal Salad w/ locally grown arugula is the absolute best. The owner and staff are extremely friendly, and will bend over backwards for their customers. SLIMEY GREENS TO GO Their move from the quaint confines of the Jewish Community Center to an antiseptic Poydras lobby has not translated well. Take Out take aways: 1. My pricey 3-ingredient chicken Caesar wrap was no more inspired than what a hurried parent would throw together for their kid's lunch box (see pic). 2. The lettuce was wilted to the point of slimey (see pic), chicken dry and under-seasoned, and the wrap was store bought: almost $10 after tax. 3. The star at their JCC location were the muffins, but they were MIA when I went for lunch. 4. They operate next door to a Subway, which is about 1/2 the price with lots of seating. read more

I come here all the time for lunch (I work a block away) because I love the build-your-own-salad concept. The staff here is always super friendly and pretty quick on prepping the food. They do have pre-prepped salads and wraps, but I always build my own because I'm picky like that. Anyway, the ingredients are always fresh and they fill the bowl up as much as they can. They also have daily hot plate specials, though I have yet to try one, as well as a daily dessert, which I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed. They also have a frequent customer program via credit card. They're system remembers your card and after 10 visits, you get a discount. My only qualm is that I wish they tossed the salad before putting it in the to-go container. They put the greens in, then all the toppings on top, and the bowl becomes too full to mix it all without spilling it. read more

My salad was tasty but WAY too expensive. The base price of the salad isn't listen anywhere only add on costs so I assumed it was included or at least a reasonable amount. I expected to pay about $13, which is already a splurge for me, but ended up paying $18. That's too Additionally I was much for a cold salad period. I asked the cashier to point out where the base price of the salad is - obviously I'd missed it - and she told me it's not posted anywhere. My receipt tells me it was $8.50. Also they don't put out knives which makes for a messy meal, and there were only 2 napkins out when there was only one more diner eating when I arrived. I won't be coming back. I hate to do this because I know they are nice people and work hard... But I made a big mistake. Feeling bad because the poor guy keeps coming into the shop all chipper and friendly, and I usually forget they are coming and have already eaten. Or more likely, I'm skipping lunch. Sometimes, as he's describing what they have, there is always one WTF ingredient in the dish that leaves me scratching my head but having no wish what-so-ever to try it. I know it can be fun to try new combos...but maybe make it a side option or something. So...this last time, I bought some black bean soup from them. 8 bucks with tip. I like black bean soup. I MAKE a good black bean soup. I don't really know what they were trying to do with this stuff. First...it had no beans in it. It was nothing more than a puree. Now for the price, I can't imagine anyone would be happy with nothing more than black bean flavored liquid with no texture, no croutons, no nothing. It had little or no flavor at all. I had my boss try it. He's not as addicted to spiciness or bold flavors as I am. He even admitted it was bad. Just not worth eating. It was like black bean water, not soup. And not flavorful. It was as if they took beans and boiled them with no spices. Then pureed them, poured the mix through a sieve and that's what I got. I need to repeat that I think the people are nice...but maybe tone down the experimental ingredients and maybe make some soup with actual STUFF in it. A good, solid flavor profile is much more important than fun ingredients and black bean water. read more

This is the restaurant where I eat more than just about anywhere else in the CBD. I love being able to pop in, grab a healthy and delicious pre-made option (or have them make me something custom), and get out the door fast and for around $10. The salads are overflowing with ingredients and actually leave me feeling full for the day, unlike most salad places, and I also regularly get their steel-cut oats, parfaits, and hummus-to-go. The Blue salad is my absolute fav - bleu cheese, bacon, and blueberries, with a fabulous dressing of some sort. The one places I'd say could use improvement and would bump my rating to 5 stars is if: (1) The veggies in the hummus-to-go cups were cut with a bit more care (I've had too many super thick carrots almost too big to bite, and I expect better for my $5) and the celery were peeled so you don't get the big strings when taking bites, and (2) The hummus/parfait were more clearly labeled with exactly what type of hummus or what type of breading was included that morning. Nevertheless, I'm thankful to have this great option so close to my office, and if I stopped working where I am, I'd still go out of my way to make it here. read more

Not sure why this place got so well reviewed. The salads are very simple - 1/2 of the box is filled with plain mixed greens. The dressing is not healthy. Furthermore, the menu is pretty limited. I eat here out of necessity, but as other reviewers have pointed out, their lettuce is always wilted and/or slimy (they also fail to cut up the greens so you end up with GIANT leaves). Not particularly vegan friendly - I went there because of the yelp reviews, but in fact none of the wraps or salads come vegan, you have to custom order them minus the chicken/meat and cheese in order to eat vegan. Green to Go offers fantastic, fresh salads. I have not been disappointed with any of my purchases! Some of my favorites include the carrot quinoa, thai noodle, and the rainbow. So many healthy options and the salads are always full of a variety of fresh vegetables and are absolutely DELICIOUS. I've had the potato leek soup which is also fantastic. Green to go is a great weekday lunch spot. The salads and wraps are pre-prepared in house, so it is a great spot if you need something quick! In and out in less than 5 minutes. Or, you can build your own salad/wrap and dine in. There is a wonderful variety of salads that are the perfect serving size for lunch which range from $9-$12. My favorite is the Orange salad with glazed pecans, gorgonzola cheese, and pepper jelly vinaigrette. I like to add a serving of chicken to it when I need a little extra protein! (they offer sides of chicken and hard boiled eggs to add to your salad if you so desire). Also, look for their weekly specials which usually include an amazing vegan soup, specialty homemade hummus with tons of veggies for dipping, and seasonal salad offerings. If you buy a salad, a drink, and a side of hummus, you are looking at about a $16-$18 lunch, but you can't beat the quality of the ingredients and the spot-on flavors. Well worth the money and a weekly stop for me! I gave it 4 stars only because things can add up quickly and get pricey in there (especially if you build your own salad) but definitely worth a trip. They are also open for breakfast and have bomb breakfast burritos and a ton of steel ground oatmeal options. I've had the Elvis bowl before ($5) which has bananas, peanut butter, and honey served warm and it was probably the best oatmeal I've ever had. Green To Go is great...so many healthy options to choose from AND they make different salads everyday (New Orleans needs a place to get salads desperately)... I just had their Rainbow Salad with bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and sunflower seed on mixed greens...It was delicious and they even make their own dressings! I have only had their food out of the JCC, but I know they make deliveries by bike. Next time I hope to get there in time for breakfast and try some of the homemade muffins. read more
