I don't even want to click on 1 star - but unfortunately there are no negative stars to click. We used Chris Cookman's landscaping business to build steps and a couple of paths from our driveway to our home and to other locations. Two years later, the steps were cracking and splitting so we had Chris come by this March for comment. He said it was the manufacturer and quoted a replacement cost which we thought was strange because the faulty stones were from his supplier and he should stand by them and not have us pay. We had him quote on some other work we wanted him to do including building another flower bed and creating a garden around our pond. We got the quote and asked him for more details. We then got an email saying he got a big job and couldn't do any of the jobs for us this summer. BUT GET THIS ...... Today (October 19) we went to their garden centre and picked out 8 trees to buy and get delivered. After they typed in our phone number, the guy who was helping us pick out the trees immediately went to the back office and shut the door. We knew Kim was there because we saw her. A few minutes later he emerged and said they were having computer problems and they'd be in touch to organize payment and delivery. Once we got home, we got an email from Kim: "I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WERE IN TODAY AND PICKED OUT SOME POTTED TREES TO PURCHASE. PLEASE NOTE WE WILL NOT BE SELLING YOU THE TREES" To which we replied: "Hello Kim - could you inform us to why?" Nothing back from her. WHAT AN UNPROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR LANDSCAPING WORK, THEY HOLD SOME GRUDGE THAT WE DON'T UNDERSTAND. Back in March, the meeting with Chris was pleasant enough - we talked about our dogs and his new dog, then SILENCE. Then 7 months later they won't even sell us anything ..... WHAT GIVES WITH THESE PEOPLE? By the way - we also bought some trees a few years ago from them and some of them also died. read more

TERRIBLE and very rude owner. Don't buy anything from this place unless you want pure disappointment. I am not sure if Kim, the owner, was just having a bad day but that is no excuse to be rude to the customer. I reversed my decision of buying from this company before we could get close to making a deal. I strongly recommend getting your tress and plants elsewhere. read more

Don't buy anything from the Greenbank Garden Centre!! They don't guarantee their products like they say they do. I paid over $2,600 for a row a cedar trees on my property line that they said were "guaranteed for a year". They were planted in late November 2012 and by May many were completely dead or dying. I went to them in May to let them know how they were and asked for help and they said they would send an arbourist to look at them. After 4 days I hadn't seen or heard from the arbourist so I purchased a bag of slow release high nitrogen fertilizer and applied a small amount. 2 days after that the arbourist and owner came over and told me the fertilizer I applied 2 days prior was too high in nitrogen and not to use it, but to instead purchase and apply a low nitrogen fertilizer (Nutrite) as soon as possible and to apply it bi-weekly for the next few months and to "not overwater them". I asked them if I should remove what I had applied of the high nitrogen fertilizer so as to not harm them and they both replied that it was not necessary for me to do that as I hadn't applied that much anyway. 2 months later, after doing what I was told, the cedars had gotten worse so I contacted them again to ask for more assistance. The owner's reply (Kim) was short and simply that "the cedars are no longer guaranteed becuase I put high nitrogen fertilizer on them and if I came on their Garden Centre property I would be charged with tresspassing"! Can you believe it? Now I'm stuck with a row of terrible looking trees and will need to dispose of many of them and repay for new replacements...at my time and expense. This was a Garden Centre that I routinely in previous years spent over $500 a spring on gardening products, but will NEVER go back there again. I'm completely baffled and wish I had gone somewhere else. And another important note...what they call their "nursary cedars" are infact field cedars...don't let them fool you! There are many other great Garden Centres in the Port Perry and Uxbridge area that operate in integrity and will do what they say in their guarantees...and will treat their customers with dignity and respect. read more
