The pet app makes storing all of Chloe's info so easy. Due to Chloe's positive FeLV status, we were guided to a room right away. Chloe loved exploring and particularly liked the window. The vet and staff gave her a churu while examining her. She happily accepted the distraction. They ushered her away for her vaccines, microchipping and nail clipping. The vet was very pleased with her appearance. I loved that they take first visit pictures. We also paid in our room due to keeping Chloe in her room. I love the doctors here, but the support staff is hit or miss. So let's start with the great vets: Dr. Munson and Dr. Grunwald are awesome! There is a third vet, but I haven't had anything but phone contact with her. Dr. Munson founded the business and he has been nothing but wonderful with my cats. (During the spring and summer, you'll often see Dr. Munson 'surveying' the grounds and checking on his flowers outside.) One of my cats is diabetic and his blood sugar can be all over the board, but Dr. Munson has been patient and has tried a variety of treatments to keep Thurgood's blood sugar in check. He also is very good about explaining things in plain English. I've seen Dr. Grunwald less frequently but you couldn't ask for a more compassionate doctor for your animals. As I mentioned, the support staff is hit or miss. Some of the women are friendly and helpful and then there are a few who are just plain sour and not fun to deal with. You just want to say, smile once in a while, I promise it won't hurt! But, there are always cookies (for the humans, not the animals) in the waiting room and, overall, the good doctors make up for the sometimes rude support staff. Prices can be high, but that seems to be the case with all veterinarians. I trust Veterinary Medical Associates with my pets and, when I encounter an unpleasant support staff member, I just soldier on knowing a great doctor is just around the corner in an exam room. read more

I give my experience and the VET that I had a 1 star. The place itself and the owner I'd give a 4 star rating so I'll give an overall 2 stars. (This is probably going to be a long review but I will do my best to keep it as simple / short as possible) REASON WHY I CAME HERE: I adopted a dog from the humane society (14 years old) and wanted to get her into a vet for a general check up to make sure that there was nothing obviously wrong and to look at a couple bumps that seemed fine but wanted to be sure. I researched numerous offices (spent about 2 hours researching) and this one had very good reviews & a high rating so I decided to give it a try. Sadly, I was left very disappointed. THE VISIT: I was told to arrive 10 minutes early so they can make photocopies of any records I was given. I get there 15 minutes early and checked in. It was 10 minutes after my appointment time / start time before they came to get the paperwork and make copied. I brushed it off since I figured they could be running a bit behind for a number of reasons. 5 minutes later (15 minutes into the appointment time) we are brought back into an exam room. In the exam room, the 1st person (not the vet) made sure the information they had was correct and asked pretty routine questions. She mentioned a test they could do (blood and urine) that would be about $300 total and said it was because my dog was a senior dog (14 years old). I mentioned not being sure. She said that's fine and gave me paperwork on it to take home and read. She left to let the vet know we were ready. The vet came in and proceeded to do her check of my dog. She checked the bumps and said they were nothing to be worried about and it's just something that happens with dogs of that age. The vet mentioned the same $300 test. I explained that I had received information on it and was going to go home, read the information and then make a decision. The vet did NOT like this answer and acted as if she'd never heard someone say no to her before. She then began arguing with me about the test and I kept repeating myself over and over. She was not listening to anything I had to say. She then tried to get me to agree to a number of different tests and tried to take back what she said about the bumps and wanted me to let her run tests on them too. I began getting ready to just leave since the appointment was over and it was nothing but a back and forth with me and the vet about the tests. The vet moved in front of the door and said she could draw the blood for the tests but not run it unless I called in saying to run it. I said no to that intially but it became clear that letting her collect it was the only way I was getting out of there easily (without having to forcefully move past her) so I agreed to let her collect it and NOT run it unless I called in and told them to. We left the room and I paid for the fecal sample (vet visit was free due to adopting from the humane society) and then I left the office. DAY AFTER THE VISIT: I took some time to reflect on the visit and what had happened and how it really made me very uncomfortable and very disappointed. I called the office and I told them that I would like the results the fecal sample as soon as they come in because I paid for that already but outside of that, I was not going to do the $300 blood work tests and I would appreciate if they would close out my file and discard of the blood that was drawn since I was not planning on coming back. The lady who answered was shocked to hear me say to close out the file and asked I could explain why and I did. She then asked if it would be okay for her to escalate the situation to the business manager or the owner and I said that was fine. THE FOLLOW-UP CALL: The owner called within 30 minutes of me calling. She was shocked at my experience and said that's not how they are and that's not who they are. She said she would like it if I would give them another chance at some point in the future and that she could ensure that I'm not with that same veterinarian again. I still don't think I will go back but I do appreciate how the situation was handled after. read more

Max used to LOVE going to the Vet. Imagine that? Well Eric Munson - a newer (old guy) Vet broke my dog. Instead of getting to know Max - you know, get down, pet him and talk with him, he had is assistant immediately hold Max's snout so Max wouldn't nip or bite - AND HE's NEVER done that - Which he would have known if he gave a minute to get to know his patient. Put Max up on a table while his assistant had to aggressively hold Max down to further examine Max. Max has never been on a table, the Vets there have always gone down to his level and he has never needed to or been restrained. At the end of the exam after Eric Munson left, Max peed on the floor and he has NEVER done that. When I confronted Munson about his lack of "bedside manner" with his patient he told me it's all about the examination. Basically screw your pet's personality, I'm not going to know your pet. I will NEVER see this guy again. He's too stuck in his old ways. In fact I may never go back to this place again because Max was so traumatized. Nice job Eric Munson - you broke my dog. read more

terrible knowledge, don't know what they are talking about, don't have proper equipment and education for what they do there and have done there, always jumping to putting your animal down they said my cat was suffering and had lumps on his kidneys and was in pain and wouldn't be inhumane to put him down, turns out all he needed was a pill. didn't give me full info on what they did to my dog, didn't give me info on after tumors removed on my dog were tested, my dog could still be here now if we had the info they had but did not give us That we payed for! if we had the info we could have gotten her treated properly, now my dog was put down yesterday due to there lack of responsibility and knowledge, they only want money Be Careful here! read more

Dr. Munson is amazing! We brought our dog in for a second opinion for a torn ACL. After spending an hour with us, going over the procedure, rehabilitation, outcome and answering ALL of our questions we went forward with the surgery. Our regular vet told us that she would never be the same dog and would need to be leashed for the rest of her life, we didn't accept this, which is why we visited Dr. Munson. Our dog has recovered and is back to normal and all I can say is THANK YOU to the staff and Dr. Munson. The receptionists were wonderful and the vet techs are knowledgeable and friendly. I've been taking my German Shepherd here for 5 years. We moved from Greendale to New Berlin and I still make the drive. Pros: 1. Good "Paw-side manner": Having taken my dog to an emergency clinic, for an infected hot spot on a 3 day weekend, they had to sedate her (big $) to shave and treat it. I found another spot the next day and took her here. They had absolutely no problem taking her in back and getting her cleaned up and said she had been perfectly calm and cooperative. I frequently get Dr. Greenwald. My dog has always been very skittish around men but the dog is a complete baby around him. It sounds kind of silly that he talks to her like a 1 year old child but I can't argue with his results. My dog is always happy to go to the vet. 2. Facilities: I worked out of a veterinary clinic when I was In the army. When I started bring my dog here they gave me a tour of the whole place. The facilities are totally up to date, although the OR looks a bit cramped. Every thing is clean and well maintained. 3. Getting Appts: Although they don't have emergency hours, I've never failed to get in within a few hours when I needed a same day appointment. One time when I screwed up my calendar and came in a day early, they worked me in anyhow. Cons: Prices: I felt they were on the high side when I had my dog spayed, although it did include bells and whistles like laser therapy to speed healing. An expensive prescription medication she takes everyday is actually a bit cheaper directly from them than over the web, but heartworm medication was double what it costs on the web. Example bill for an annual exam, lepto vac, lyme vac, blood draw and heartworm/tick test came to $217. Office staff: I will join the rest of the reviews in saying that "some" don't go out of there way to seem friendly. I phoned an order in that they got wrong and there wasn't the slightest apology. Not a big deal, but most places will at least say;" opps, let me correct that." But again the actual vets and techs are fine to work with. read more

The staff here is always a pleasure to see. You will receive a high level of care and service for your pet. Dr Munson and Bevert (spelling maybe incorrect) are highly skilled and love animals. I have also experienced the rude support staff. One receptionist in particular is so difficult to deal with on the phone and in person. She made it so difficult for me to make the necessary arrangements with their clinic so that I could help take care of my mother's dog (my mother has Alzheimer's), but the Vet techs and the doctors were supportive. This receptionist made a difficult time even worse. Another time she was very rude to my teenaged children who came in to drop off a sample. It might behoove this clinic to hire office support who enjoys working with people. We still go here due to my dogs health care needs, too difficult to change mid treatments, but when that resolves itself, might look elsewhere. The other complaint that I have is that the office staff seem to have no connection to what your pet needs. When calling to question about care, they often give misleading direction (make an appointment for an x-ray) when something else is needed....if they would just take the time to talk to a tech or doctor about your pet's situation, then the right type of appointment or care could be made rather than getting there after a busy day and discovering what the receptionist set up is not right! This group is higher in cost than other clinics, and with that you would think that all there would give you the customer the star treatment to make the cost worthwhile. But not the case. read more
