we had the most awful experience here! our Golden retriever puppy started throwing up and could not…read morekeep a meal down. We made an appt the next day. they told us he needed emergency surgery (after doing a scan) for a penny causing a blockage. When she (dr Baird) got in there, she said the penny was in the stomach and not even causing the blockage (you didn't see that on the scan??) the vet then proceeded to tell us that his intenstine was severely damaged, (and she had no idea why) and there was so much fluid around it , and had to do a biopsy. he stayed the night. I had to call at 1 pm the next day to ask about him..only to be told that the vet would call me back. 1.5 hours later, the TECH called me. Said he can go home w/meds and special food. I asked for the Vet to call me because this didn't make sense to us, and the tech said that she was at home and would call in the morning! (It was 3 pm) Long story short, our puppy got worse and worse, with NO CALL from the vet to ask how he was!! It was the weekend and no one to call! Monday we took him back, and the vet STILL had no biopsy results back. basically our puppy was dying, so We made the choice to put him down. We went into a room with a TECH, again, NO VET, and DR Baird NEVER even came in to meet us, to express her sympathy, or explain the process. $2000 later, we lost our puppy and never even met the Vet that "took care of him." I would never go back there, nor recommend them. Just awful how they handled this situation!

At Cochranton when my 11-year-old pug was ailing, they showed a list of treatment options and the price for each, and let us select how much or how little care we wished our beautiful little dog to receive. Two years later, our elderly pug is doing better and is more spry then she was two years ago at her first visit, and to be honest, I didn't expect her to live this long as pugs are not a breed known for their longevity. Our sweet cat was recently diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disorder by Dr. Sliker. Most doctors don't know that this disease is found in cats, never mind think to look for it. He had odd symptoms but decided to run a blood panel to rule stuff out since he felt something wasn't quite right. 10 minutes later we knew something was seriously wrong. He ran further tests, and an hour and a half after getting to Camboro we had a diagnosis. What makes Camboro so wonderful is the staff. The doctor, vet tech, and woman behind the desk stayed 45 minutes after the hospital closed to help our little dude and to talk to my husband and I. While the doctor and tech were with our Charlie running more tests the receptionist brought us tissues and asked it we needed anything. None of the staff were bothered that they had to work late. They showed genuine care and worry for our cat. When we thanked them all they said that this is why they do what they do and that they would do what they could to help our family. They even gave us two cans of prescription can food for free to see if our guy would eat. Luckily he did, for the first time in days. Charlie has seen many doctors and techs at Camboro and everyone single person has been kind, knowledgable, and extremely helpful. From the moment you call to the second you leave the building, everyone is great. They all seem to genuinely care about your pet and see their careers as a passion. I cannot recommend Camboro Veterinary Hospital enough.
