At the Art Museum location, my bag contained a single package of turkey breast that unfortunately had already gone bad by the time I opened it. At this South Street location, I received four packages of beef patties, and everything was still fresh when I picked it up. As a direct comparison, I cooked the meat from both pickups the same day I received them, and the freshness difference was immediately obvious. No sour smell, no questionable quality, just perfectly usable products that I was happy to take home and cook. The value here was significantly better too. I know Too Good To Go bags are always a bit of a surprise, but I genuinely didn't expect such a large difference between locations under the same store brand. When I arrived, the instructions directed me to customer service. Since it was my first time picking up from this location, I wasn't entirely sure of the process. The interaction felt a little abrupt, and I got the sense that the staff member assumed I already knew where to go. To be fair, it was close to closing time and the weather wasn't great, so it may have just been one of those days. I didn't take it personally. On the other hand, the employee at the meat counter was fantastic. Very friendly, efficient, and had the bags ready almost immediately. The pickup itself was quick and easy once I got to the right place. One thing I did notice was a slight fishy smell in parts of the store. It actually reminded me of some Asian grocery stores I've been to. Not necessarily a dealbreaker, just unexpected in a Whole Foods. Overall, I'd choose this location over the Art Museum one without hesitation, especially for Too Good To Go pickups. Better value, fresher food, and a much more satisfying experience overall. I was genuinely impressed by how much was included in the bags and how fresh everything was when I got it.

Self checkout lanes make for a quick and easy experience purchasing groceries.

There is almost never a free shopping cart by the side entrance, the staff at the cash register always acts annoyed when they see you stand in line, and I've bought lamb here that smelled completely rotten that I've had to toss. One time, I had to go back to the store because the cashier charged me incorrectly for an item, I spent at least 20 minutes waiting to be helped. I thought ordering online for pick up would help me circumvent the bad experience, but nope. There's been many occasions when my online order was never fulfilled and I would need to cancel the order altogether because there was apparently no staff available to work on the order. When I do get my order fulfilled, the pick up experience is just awful. I would thank the staff member but 90% of the time I get a side eye and no response (there's only ONE lady that's actually nice and would acknowledge me). The list just goes on! Why do I even bother spending so much of my hard earned money here?

An amazing little soy factory here…read more There's no official store, although you can walk in and buy things by the case - from soy milk to innovative soy products like firm-soy sheets that make quite good sandwiches (organic, and vegan, too!). Soy pudding, tofu, tofu puffs, and all things tofu... all freshly made here in Philadelphia, organic and vegan versions of various products available. They don't use any peanuts in this factory. The owner started as a restaurant chef when he came from China, and then started his own restaurant, and sold that to start this tofu business. Good stuff. You can see this product in local store shelves across the Upper East Coast. Decidedly Asian taste (for everyone: beany) but very good, in my opinion, for authentic, flavored and fresh tofus.
