The Bee Gees once sang about this club:
"Morton a woman!
You are, morton a woman to me! (high pitched squealing)"
Absolute classic.
First-Hand Experience: I've seen Morton play twice live at home (both times I enjoyed it, and the fans were lovely, but the stadium was lacking something), and then twice away from home (where they really put up a good fight and impressed me). I love the way the supporters of this team are so open to outsiders coming in, which is not always the case in Glasgow proper.
This team is known to most as "Morton" although they added the name of their town not too long ago and why not. I understand the stewards treat away fans terrible and I agree with Alastair, but I was here as a home fan and I enjoyed it. Formed in 1874, they play to 12k people, they drink Irn Bru, they play in the same colours as QPR (eww), and they once beat Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup Final of 1922, which is a local rival if you think about it.
They were cup runners up in 48 and 64, and league runners up in 1917. So all in all they're a good old club and there's morton meets the eye. read more
