Green's Mill is just outside Nottingham City Centre. A (usually self-guided) wander around and up the mill itself makes for an interesting half hour or so. You can learn about the making of flour (should such things be of interest) and there are some great views out over the surrounding landscape. Flour made in the mill is sold in the shop. The other main reason to visit is the small science centre across the courtyard. There are plenty of hands-on exhibits here for kids (and adults) to enjoy. It's also interesting to delve into the history of George Green, the renowned mathematician whose father built the mill. Great for a half-day trip. read more
