Braintree post office has moved. and is just so much better!…read more Rather than having to walk to the back of the Co-op (or Quadrant) and get in a long winding queu. the Braintree Post Office finally has its own premises! The new premises is spacious airy and clean and seems to have hada really positive impact on the staff who are all really helpful and friendly. As it is a store in its own right now, you can purchase all the usual post office supplies as well as newspapers and magazines.and there is even a free cash point outside! What more could you want?

I swear this is like the Post Office of the future…read more There are no queues here. Instead, you take a ticket, and get to sit on a leather seat in air conditioned comfort. You just relax while fiddling on your phone, writing Yelp reviews or something, and then when your number gets called you go up and they sort out whatever you need to do. The result is a relaxed atmosphere and staff who seem happy, and therefor treat you well. They are keen and happy to help, and the post office offers all the usual services you expect. It's really good here, for a Post Office :)

Went to Kensington High street Post office to renew our expired passport today 10am 10/07/24. We were served by a gentileman (name Badge was Harinder). Harinder considered our age and explained the cons and pros of the application system and chose the safest system to apply and receive. He was very knowledeable in that field. He also advised us not to travel with out a travel insurance, and to my wife about a life insurance for six pounds. We were very happy with the service. Now a days Super market to Hospitals are considering people as consumers. This gentleman treated us as a friend advised for our welfare. Thank you Harinder.

It's spacious, clean and bright, with a reasonably sized sales area selling stationery items - the queue goes through it, so you can browse while you are waiting. Service is pretty reasonable - the queues here don't seem too bad, and move fairly quickly, and the staff are generally friendly. Christmas is the exception though, when you may have to wait 15 minutes. It's always better first thing in the morning. Services include everything you'd expect from a large branch - Royal Mail, Licences, Bureau de Change, Insurance and various other offers from the Post Office (though these are mostly available online too). There's a bus stop just outside with a wide range of services.

The queues in here can get pretty big as theres only 3 desks and normally when i go in only 2 people servicing. You can do all sorts here from posting a parcel or letter to buying car tax. Is is one member of staff that is a little rude and unhelpful but most there are happy to help.

The staff are polite, interact with the children and are so friendly you want to browse the shelves and buy extras or some sweets for the kids. They say hello when you come into the shop, they put themselves out and most of all a nice place to shop. If you can support any post office in the chelmsford district this is the one to go to. since moving 5 miles away I go here all the time.

They even have a train going around one of the gardens for children. It is open longer hours in the summer and you can spend 2-3 hours here.

Tickets for the trains are very reasonably priced, and the trains go roughly every 20 mins. The 1.5 mile trip is great, the engines are wonderfully maintained and there are lots of teddy bears dotted around the wood that the kids love pointing out. Crucially you need to check the opening times before planning a trip here. For the 2012 season the railway was only open at the weekends and school holidays, and even then only from 12 noon to 4.45pm (with the last steam train departure at 4pm). It's also the sort of venue that suits decent weather. The train carriages are covered, however there is also a large open 'Picnic and Play' area beside the terminal that has great play equipment, but would be much less pleasant in rainy weather. Other nice touches are the cafe and the guided Fairy Walk that kids can take through the woods. Overall a fantastic afternoon, just make sure to check the timetable and weather forecast.

The library itself is rather old fashioned and could really do with a make over but it still stocks plenty of books inside. Its a meduim size shop with plenty of seating areas and table and chairs if you need to study in a quite place.
