The application of "Black Gold" has made no visible difference in our garden except adding to our work getting rid of the debris. Interestingly, earlier this year I walked by a newly-arrived load and asked the owner of the house where it came from. My complaint with this company is that they haven't honored the warranty to replace the emerald…read morecedar trees that died last summer(2017) with new trees.I had 74 hedging cedars planted late spring last year and 4 had already had begun to die before the job was completed and I was assured by Leah one of the owners along with her husband Sean that if any that didn't survive over summer would be replaced in Sept.They completed the job and told me I had priority and they would contact me beginning of Sept before they left.I watered and cared for the trees to the best of my ability but still lost 20+ trees over that summer.September came,I waited for a call/text about the progress of the trees and when they would follow through on the warranty work replacing the dead trees.I never received any communication till early Oct when I texted Leah and she asked how many trees died and send pictures which I did.Then she told me her husband would contact me which never happened.Almost 6 months(Mar/Apr 2018) had passed and no word so I texted Leah about fulfilling their obligations to which she replied she had some health/divorce issues so communication was a problem.She stated she would follow through but she was booked solid a couple of weeks and would touch base.I waited over a month,contacted her about it being too late to plant now.She apologized saying she had been swamped and suggested waiting till Sept and she would send a programmed text on the 1st.The text came I replied as to when she would be able to do the warranty work.Finally a reply late Sept only after I told her if she would not complete the warranty work I would file a complaint with the BBB.She replied stating she had ongoing legal/personal issues with her husband at the moment but would deal with me soon.I replied about a reimbursement but she said she was broke paying lawyers for legal issues.I then offered to dig,transport and plant the trees myself if it could resolve the issue but she declined.

My neighbours hired this company for landscaping, and in the process, Nicholas Gardenscaping crossed onto my property and cut back my mature maple tree--right down to the trunk. This wasn't minor trimming; it was complete destruction. That tree took over 40 years to grow and, in a single afternoon, they butchered it beyond recognition. What was once a beautiful, full tree that provided privacy and character to my backyard is now a bare, lifeless eyesore. There was absolutely no attempt to consult me before cutting branches that were clearly on my side of the fence. Any professional landscaping company should know better than to cross property lines without permission, let alone do irreversible damage. This shows a complete lack of professionalism, basic judgment, and respect for others' property. That tree was a highlight of my yard and a natural privacy screen. Now, it's just a daily reminder of the careless and destructive work done by this company. While my neighbors have agreed to pay for a new fence to help restore some privacy, that does nothing to replace what was lost. Under new management, led by Zach Nicholas, this company appears to be both unskilled and unprofessional. I strongly recommend avoiding Nicholas Gardenscaping if you value your property and expect competent, respectful service.
