Canapes to start with plenty of prosecco and drink to get you going, and then 3 fun, interactive and insightful classes into how to cook a 3 course meal. Ours included a tortellini dish with fresh pasta, a chicken butchering class and making ballantines out of the thigh, and then a quick lesson in tempering chocolate and making a fancy chocolate tear. Plenty of ideas to take away for home dinner parties, and the venue does a brilliant job of balancing both social aspects of these classes and the more informative and learning parts. Would highly recommend for parties, celebrations or corporate events! They also send you the recipes afterwards for you to keep! Note: you don't cook the full meal, you only learn how to prepare key parts of it and they tell you how they will cook it later. The focus here is on the preparation aspects of a meal, and letting you guys socialise and enjoying the night instead of slaving over a stove!!

Latifa is a lovely, patient teacher. My group was 3 including myself so we got lots of attention. We first made our fillings as these need to set. I made an indulgent white chocolate and vanilla ganache. Then we were given a demonstration on how to make the macaroon mix and how to pipe. Then it was our turn. The making was much easier than the piping, I need to practice! Once all the baking and cooling was done, it was time of piping in the filling. I really enjoyed the class and I now feel more confident to give macaroons a go on my own. The kitchen is very well equipped and Latifa makes the class very relaxed and is a font of knowledge and skills. There is a great selection of classes on offer, I am very keen to book another!

Luke is a natural teacher who is so dedicated to his profession, it really shows. It was my mum's birthday so I signed us up for the sausage making course as a treat. So my mum was running an HOUR late for the course. She doesn't live in London, got all confused and swept up in Arsenal fans. As we were the only ones on the course this time, they waited patiently. And I mean SO patiently I was really touched. They offered me strawberry mousse, a drink, chatted and generally were so so nice about it all. My mum finally arrived and they had a beer out ready to calm her down and told her to take her time. We finally got started 1h30 mins late for a 2hr course and they wouldn't even hear of us doing a shorter lesson. The course itself was sooooo interesting. I learnt loads and loads of tips about how to cook sausages, make sausages, what equipment to get, why it's so much cheaper etc. I came away with a new found respect for the sausage and about 4kilos of suasages between us. I now have a year's supply in my freezer. They sent us the recipes to make them afterwards and lots of tips on how to cook all the stuff we'd made. My mum is now buying a sausage maker and talking about all the sausages she's going to make. My BF is now taking his friends on it. In the end they stayed 2hrs after our course was supposed to end just because they're so dedicated to making it a good experience: THAT'S customer service!! Jen who runs the company and Luke who taught this course were total darlings and I would recommend their lessons to anyone with a slight inclination to cooking.

Terrible customer service; I feel robbed!…read more I booked a knife confidence class for me and my fiancee, but the day before the class, a family emergency arose. We thought this emergency would prevent us from attending the class the following day, so I thoughtfully emailed the Jenius company. They promptly replied and let me know that a last minute cancellation cannot be refunded, and the 180 quid we paid online would be forfeit. So, I decided not to cancel just in case we'd make it. I should have told them explicitly not to cancel anything. By the next day, the family emergency had resolved, so I told Jenius we would, in fact, end up attending the class. Jenius told me that our booking was forfeit and we would not be getting back our money. According to their customer service representative, they already purchased the food and booked the chefs time, which is why they can't do a last minute cancellation. Ok, if that's the case, why couldn't we attend the class that was already paid for? Yes, if you read the fine print on their policy, last minute cancellations do not get refunded. However, in my mind, this was incredibly cheap of Jenius. By my definition, this is thievery. They offered 50% off of a future booking, but that's unacceptable given we already paid them nearly 200 pounds for nothing!!! I'll never give them any more of my money and I recommend avoiding this company at all costs.

The flavours of the day were Vanilla, Double Chocolate, Raspberry Ripple, Earl Grey, Banana Choc Chip, and Red Velvet and there were 2 flavours of each in each box of 12. I had the banana choc chip which was super yummy! The banana sponge was nice and moist and the choc chips gave a nice texture to it. I also tried the earl grey which was a bit different, but still good. The cake on both of them were great and the icing wasn't too sweet. These are great cupcakes and they were very reasonably priced. Wish I knew they had loyalty cards because I will defo be back to try out some more flavours!

Their mince pies rank among the best in the UK and are, in my opinion, the best in terms of value for money, particularly if you get a dozen of them. I've seen people walk into the shop, pay for a mince pie and devour it on the spot. Their brownies are amazing as well and you can get them in four flavours: chocolate chip, Fudgepacker, Curly Whirly and, my ultimate favourite, Boston brownie, which comes with tart cranberries baked in and offset the sweet richness of the brownie perfectly. If you buy three brownies, you get one free, and, that, as you can imagine, is absolutely terrible because I simply have to get four every time I buy brownies in order to maximise my pound. My latest discovery has got to be the mixed berry tart. I love berries and K&C's berry tart tastes as good as any of the finest berry tarts I've ever tasted in France. It's so damn delicious that I'm salivating now just thinking of it. So, if you're on a diet, do yourself a favour. Don't walk by this store. Don't come in. Don't try a free sample. You'll regret it. I was in the area for another café, but they were full. In my quest for something sweet I happily decided to give this K&C a go, but chosing this venue for my first try was a mistake as (even though there ARE tables outside and a single one inside) it's more like a take-away. The only table inside was occupied by a couple of guys doing nothing, and for the first minutes we sat outside in the coldest wind (almost blew my cake box away) till the duo decided it was a good time to leave and we quickly snapped up their seats. We were told they didn't have any clean plates or cutlery left (even though the place wasn't full) and the cake was served in a paper box with a plastic spoon. That was a bit of a mood killer. The tea came in a mug and good grief, it was AWFUL. I know it seems a bit mean to take one star of a review because of a cup of tea, and I do admit that it could have been an one-off dud - but seriously, as I force my mind to relive that ghastly experience I feel tempted to take yet ANOTHER star. Who dumps a teabag inside a cup of tepid milky water? In the great land of tea? The drink obviously never brew, tasted like death in a mug and I left 80% of it. As for the cake: a really nice lemon number. Great sponge and filling (a *tad* on the too sweet side, but it wouldn't pose a problem at all had the tea worked, as it would've balanced the sweeteness out). The prices are OK and the staff amiable and smiley. I felt like trying other flavours, but definitely not there. If like me you don't really do take away cake (it gets home all deformed and smeared) and believes cake in a box + awful tea in a mug detracts from the experience, I'd look for another branch to get your K&C fix.
