I watched trash sit in the stair case for days without it being cleaned. Seen a few drug addict residence in passing , packages being stolen even with paying 25$ for a forced service. Elevators constantly not working, garage gate not working. I have seen multiple cars vandalized and no assistance or cameras , what was once a nice complex has turned to complete you know what. Not worth the price at all. The amount charged for every little thing I'd hope people can come home and feel safe and comfortable . Not luxury anymore I watched it change over the years since management changes . Star is for the nice maintenance staff that assist right away

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. It was truly the worst rental experience I've ever…read morehad and I don't even know where to begin. This was suggested to me as a great place to live, back when it was Elan Heights. I signed a lease back in October 2021 and moved in the beginning of December. Apparently, the company was just changed to Barvin after I had signed my lease and it has been such a mess since they took over. When I first walked in to get my keys, the office staff didn't even know I was planned to move in that day. They also "lost" my lease and had me sign a brand new lease before they would turn over my keys. Luckily the apartment hadn't been leased to someone else in the meantime since my lease was nowhere to be found. Then the key they gave me did not work and it took forever to get the movers into my apartment. Barvin cost me extra money in moving fees since my movers and I had to wait around for at least an hour for them to fix their mistakes. No discount on my rent or anything of the sort was offered to me. I even reached out to Barvin corporate online and did not get a response back. This company does NOT care about their tenants. I didn't even receive a key to my mailbox for the first month and a half of living there because they "didn't have access to it" which I have never in my life experienced, but it was very stressful not being able to access my own mail. Add to that the fact that I was not even able to get into the garage for the first week or two due to "issues" they had giving me access. The staff is constantly changing, no one is helpful. The previous manager Beverly was very dismissive to me throughout my entire horrific move-in. There is NO security! I would see a guard car parked in the first floor of the garage but never saw an actual security guard. Cars were broken into all the time and very little was done about it. Doors and gates were constantly broken, the grounds are very dirty, trash would overflow in the trash chute room, the list goes on. For the price they charge for rent this is an absolutely disgusting place to live. I also agree with other reviewers who state that the quality of residents who live here has gone down significantly. The smell of weed is rampant throughout the building... the carpet was recently "cleaned" but is somehow still disgusting. I had such a miserable experience from start to finish I ended up breaking my lease to get out because I was so unhappy and felt unsafe. My hope is that I can save someone else from the headache I experienced. DO NOT rent here and honestly, I wouldn't consider any other Barvin properties either. There are so many other nice places in the Heights.
