Wow what can I say. My boyfriend and I just finished up our appointment and we feel AMAZING. Dr. Greg is excellent. I'm an RN, and back pain is basically part of the job. I first went to see him at the recommendation of a number of friends here in the L.A. music scene. Yep, he takes care of all of them, and they love him. I was having some mid-back muscle pain that just wouldn't go away. At his office, he evaluated and adjusted me, then also put me on the TENS unit for a bit. Within a few days of that visit, my pain was gone. Seriously, just like that! He also gave me a number of exercises to do at home to keep my back strong and the pain away. He is super kind, warm, and informative without being condescending. Less than a year after that initial visit, I was in a speedboat accident and sustained an L1 compression fracture. Greg has become an absolute essential for my physical and mental health. Because of Covid, I'm afraid to go to one of the big chiropractic offices, so Greg comes to me. I had an intense lower back pain that came out of nowhere in the early afternoon and gradually got worse throughout the rest of the day. By 10:30 pm I was in so much pain and hardly able to get up. I am a massage therapist for over 20 years and needed some spine care. Well enter Greg. He showed up on time and with a gang of equipment and tools to work on me. And work on me he did everything like explain what his strategy was to get me warmed up my muscles really good and stretch me really good. Then he put my bones that were rout of place went ever so gently back into place. Then my upper back was really locked up. He looked at my X-rays and confirmed I had some trouble there and it has not been able to move for like 3 years. Where do I start. I pulled my back out Saturday morning and had to crawl on the floor and get assistance to be able to get back into bed. There I laid till this morning. In bed for 2 and a half days. I've spent my life as a professional musician/recording artist. From my first paid performances in 1966, up until just two years ago, I was an absolutely fearless performer. I wasn't just confident - I was a total monster. I knew exactly what I was capable of. My vocal skills and mastery of guitar had never failed me - until the last year or so. I knew I had back and neck problems that required chiropractic care, but much like finding a guitar tech that not only knew what he was doing, but was actually willing to do it, finding a chiropractor that really knew what he was doing and was willing to do it seemed like an impossible task - until my guitar tech turned me on to Dr. Greg Malakoff. The other chiropractors I saw did next to nothing to help me. They got me and my wife in and out as quickly as they could, and what little they did do was minimal and ineffective. My first experience with Dr. Malakoff was incredible. Where the adjustments from other chiropractors barely produced a single pop in my neck, Greg's adjustments had my neck going off like a machine gun - and the difference in the way I felt was dramatic, and the results were lasting. Things being what they were, I was unable to connect with Dr. Malakoff for nearly two years. In that period of time a LOT of things began to go wrong. I began to lose my voice and my prowess at guitar playing, regardless of how much time and effort I put into maintaining my abilities.
