This is a little Greggs shop in Woolshops in Halifax. They sell great cornish pasties and cheese…read moreand onion too. The steak bakes are good if you like big chunks of meat. I love the tuna crunch baguette sandwiches and the chicken salad seeded rolls. They also sell drinks like bottles of coke, and crisps and plain bread too. The sweet desserts are scrummy, vanilla slices, cream doughnuts and gingerbread men are just a few. It is great for a nice warm snack mid shopping trip, just enough to keep you going, and a nice cream bun for afters hehe.

My favourite bit about this shop though is the staff. They are happy-go-lucky and friendly, which is more than I can say of the other Greggs stores that I have been in. The last time I wandered past the shop was empty and the girls behind the counter were having some kind of dance off, and when they noticed that I had spotted them, creased up in laughter. They do the usual supply of sandwiches, paninis, pastys, etc and buns and cream cakes. They also do a different supply of prepacked buns and cakes and breads and sandwiches. This bakers makes a big difference to greggs which does get boring after a while so i like a change. The staff arent the friendliest but they do get busy so you can forgive them that. The place is a bit dearer than greggs but for a change they are well worth it. They seem to be more traditional in their recipes too. The place is lovely and clean too. I also like their fresh soups they do unless it is tomato.

As Ryan H points out, it's the only place in the local area to get a pasty, pie or bakerie item without heading into the Town Centre and so it's very convenient and accessible for a quick lunch. As a fairly large chain, I'm sure you are aware of Sayers, what they offer and the quality there. It's not the best pasty you'll ever have and not a patch on Carr's but it certainly fills a need when craving hits!

They do lovely sandwiches, you can pick your own filling and it will be made fresh in front of you. Ainsleys gets busy at peak times like lunch and dinner but the queues won't last very long. It's worth it anyway.

It has the standard Ainsley's prices, which I've always thought are slightly too high in comparison to those of Gregg's, the obvious competition. Service is always with a smile, and it has a much more local feel about it than most Ainsley's, but essentially, it's a chain bakery, and not a massively impressive one.
