Very bad experience. I paid $500 to have my snowblower fixed here during the offseason in 2024. The blades had stopped turning during the last snow of the previous winter. The very first time I tried to use it -- today -- they still weren't turning. I figured I'd get an apology and a service call at my home to fix it ASAP. When I called the owner, he refused to even look at it. He implied that I must have done something to it because it was working when it left the shop. I literally just started it for the first time since it had been returned and pushed the lever to start the blades turning. No response. When I said I expected them to fix it, he hung up on me. I'm filing complaints right now with the Better Business Bureau and Nevada Consumer Affairs, in addition to posting reviews like this everywhere I can think of. read more

This Company and owner has great integrity and was very helpful to me even though I never spent a dime with him. Beware of negative reviews some people have an entitlement problem and expect something for nothing! About a week ago I called Greg's to inquire about repairing a Powersmart snow thrower that I got in Dec 2021. I couldn't get a hold of the manufacturer (waited on hold though 7 callers ahead of me for 30 min just to be sent to voicemail nor was I able to find parts on Powersmart website. Greg answered the phone directly, no menu or robot to deal with, and took his time to coach me on the fact that he wouldn't waste my money or time fixing such a piece of junk, that even he wouldn't even try to get parts from a Chinese ONLY company whose entire purpose is to put honest American companies out of business. He recommended I get a Troy-Built instead. So that's what I did, and I'm super happy with my Troy-Built. I took that POS Powersmart back to Home Depot and must have had great rapport with the manager because I got 50% store credit to put toward a snow thrower that is made by an AMERICAN COMPANY that even though has manufacturing in China, they operate with integrity like a USA company should, and actually has a support staff that supports its customers and offers support. Do your homework and shop around. I was charged $220 plus labor for an electric starter 5 years ago. The starter stopped working after 4.5 years with very light use. Just replaced it again this month. Brand new starter for $50. And a WHOLE lot less for labor and pick up/drop off. I feel that I was taken advantage of by this company. I called and spoke with a guy regarding repair for a lawn mower issue. Conversation Verbatim - Repairman - "Well, whats it doing ? " Me - "Doesnt start and it started 2 weeks ago. There is a small crack in a fuel line. " Repairman - " Its a carburetor issue and it will be $175.00 " Me - "Well thats more than the lawn more is worth" Two days later I changed a rubber fuel hose that I saw was cracked and it fired right up and runs great since. Greg is amazing! Last year, while mowing my overgrown lawn, I ran over a dog toy causing my mower to die. I parked it, covered it, and bought another one. This year, I pulled out my "New" mower to do the lawn, and wouldn't you know it, it wouldn't start, now I had 2 dead mowers. Mowers aren't cheap anymore, so I looked around for a repair shop and found Greg's small engine repair. Long story short, Greg picked up my mowers, fixed them, then dropped them off. I bought a Honda lawnmower from Home Depot two years ago. It worked great for about 1.5 years, then the carburetor starting "surging" (revving up and down) while mowing the lawn. I tried fresh gas and cleaned the air filter but no change so I just dealt with it for a few months. Finally, I called Greg's Small Engine and they came to my house, picked up the lawn mower and fixed the issue with the carburetor and brought the lawnmower back to my house. It runs perfectly now. Writing this review a little late - perhaps that's more credible after running my engines a while longer. No surprise - all engines still starting easily and running great. They fixed both my snowblower and lawnmower. What a difference. I didn't take my high-pressure washer in to them because it was running okay, but in hindsight wish I'd taken it in as well because everything they touch comes out better. They don't just fix the reported and obvious problems - they go through everything, fix all the details, replacing caps, cleaning painted surfaces, adjusting all the cables, etc. And they take the time to explain what's wrong, why it went wrong, what they're going to do, how much it'll cost (reasonable), and how to keep it maintained well. I'm not sure I've every had such a positive mechanical service experience, on anything, before. Thanks! read more

My mower was repaired and put away for winter. I pulled the mower out to use in the spring. It would not start and the new blade he insists on was scraping the body. He came to my house, was very rude saying it was the right blade and the gas was oily and old. I had just filled the tank with clean new gas. He wanted another $250 to make it run. He left mad at me because his work was not good at all. I suppose he was embarrassed. The gas leaks when you fill the tank. IT STILL WON'T RUN. Greg does not guarantee his work and doesn't give any receipts so you have no proof he even worked on your machine. He uses his foul temper to intimidate you. DO NOT EXPECT GREG TO DO ANYTHING BUT CHANGE YOUR BLADE FOR $250. HE IS A RIP OFF. read more

This business was a pleasure to deal with. At the very end of the snow season, a cable broke on my snowblower. I don't have a truck or a way to transport my machine to a repair place, so Yelp pointed me to Greg's who would come pick it up. James was great to deal with. As someone who knows NOTHING about this kind of thing, I'm always a bit on guard about being seen as someone who could be taken advantage of, but James left me completely confident about his honesty. He even took the time to teach me about how to best maintain the snowblower. They serviced the blower, installed a new cable, and deliver it back to me for a very reasonable price (the exact price they'd quoted me when I first called). Why did I wait so long to write this review? Because I forgot until I sliced a beautiful, ripe summer tomato with my perfectly sharp knife. Greg's also sharpens knives! They put a new edge on one of my favorites that Raley's had previously messed the edge up on. I'm more than satisfied with my experience with these guys and while I hope my old snowblower holds up without needing more repairs, I'll definitely use these guys again when it needs its next service. read more

I needed my snowblower fixed and they couldn't pick up for several days and then said it would be one to two weeks before they would have it back to me. Nice folks but I could not wait that long. Greg provides outstanding service and is extremely knowledgeable. I had a question for him about repairing my Honda Snowblower and he walked me through the entire repair over the phone. It was relatively simple and something that I could easily handle on my own. Of course, he did mention that he could come and grab the machine and return it after service but that may be an unnecessary expense. I inherited my Pop's Troy-Bilt snowblower when he passed away back East. Brought it home in the back of my pickup in early Oct. I had no idea what real shape it was in other than it looked pretty good and I doubt it had been used much given Pop's deteriorating health. I also saw a dangling cable that I believed might have come loose in transit. So I asked Greg's to check it out, change oil, let me know its true condition. They came to my house and picked it up. Checked it out, changed oil, lubed here and there. They originally said they would need to install a new cable for the dangler, but were able to reattach it after all. It did take a few weeks but they brought it back to my house, said was in great shape, should handle any snow we might get. All in all a good experience and I would recommend them, but do be prepared for the possibility to wait a bit. Did really appreciate the pickup from and delivery to my house. read more
