If history was any reason to visit a place, then the Gretna Green Hotel has plenty of reasons! We stopped in as part of a drive from Hobart to Tarraleah, and found this hotel with a history of being a way station for nigh on a century of travelers.
As with much of the area's pubs, there is a lot of local wood used - in fact he feature is a full wood dining table with "no kids allowed" warnings. The main bar has photos of visitors from the 1910s through today.
The publicans are friendly, and can add to the stories seem in the photo walls. read more
