Local feel with a good selection of strains and great choice of hip hop playing. The grimy decor adds a cool factor to the interior of the place and exterior as well. Seating inside and also on the window ledge outside. This place is a definite gem.

Went in with a large group of women. This place was recommended to us, but it was sketch. There were a bunch of really creepy guys hanging out there that made us feel very uncomfortable. There are way better (and way less packed with creepers) coffee shops in Amsterdam

Good times here! Not a whole lot of seating, but really friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable guys that run the place. They mentioned they are from Michigan, so they are American. There is a whole menu for you to read through. You can buy edibles, joints, hash, or weed. Not every variety of weed is available in a pre-made joint. If there isn't a queue of people, they are willing to grind the weed for you and roll you a joint. They also have a lot of tools, etc. that I believe you can borrow to use. I like the location - it's not terribly big, maybe eight people can sit at the tables comfortably and a few bar stool seats against the wall. I like that you can look out the open window (no glass) and just watch into the street. When I went, there were pleasant people at the store... including what looked like a dad teaching a college aged son how to smoke a joint!

I wish I bought some to bring back to NYC. Will definitely try to make dupes of these delicious gooey soft cookies. Service is fast, grab and go. They fill your order while you're paying. Winkel 43 is a legendary stop right on the corner of Westerstraat and Noordermarkt in the Jordaan,…read moreperfectly situated along the Prinsengracht canals and just a short walk from the Anne Frank House. While it functions as a cozy, traditional Dutch brown café, virtually everyone comes here for one main reason: the famous Dutch apple pie (*appeltaart*). It completely lives up to the reputation. Served warm with a massive dollop of fresh whipped cream, it's thick, perfectly spiced, and has an almost cake-like crust that sets it apart. Pairing a slice with a fresh mint tea is pretty much mandatory. Because of its status and location, it's almost always buzzing with people--especially on market days--but the staff manages the perpetual queue remarkably fast. Snagging a table on the outdoor terrace for some people-watching along the canal is hard to beat. Whether you're taking visitors around the neighborhood or just out exploring the Jordaan.

I'd say about 95% of the people were ordering the apple pie, so of course we had to get one to see what the hype was about. The apple pie is pretty unique, it's basically a big chunk of cooked apple topped with a sweet, crumbly cookie like crust. The flavor reminded me of those little brown biscuits you get as airplane snacks... basically Biscoff cookies. lol!!! Overall, you really taste the natural apple flavor along with that Biscoff like cookie flavor. The pie itself isn't very sweet, which I actually liked, but adding some whipped cream definitely brings up the sweetness and makes it even better. The setup is pretty straightforward: get in line, order and pay, pick up your food, then find your own seat. It's definitely a popular spot, so be prepared for the crowd and a bit of a wait.
