Once his crew started digging in, the rot turned out to be more than expected (because of course it did), leading to repairs that were, let's say, "character-building" in scope. When it was time to paint the exterior portion of our house, we called multiple painting contractors to get estimates. Julian, the owner of Grey Wolf Painting, came out to give us an estimate. I immediately noticed he was much more detail oriented than all the other contractors we met with. He pointed out very small details as we walked around the exterior perimeter that I had never thought about or had been discussed during other estimates. Julian at Grey Wolf Painting is wonderful! His communication was excellent, and that is a huge selling point for me. It was so nice to hear back from him promptly, every single time, as we scheduled a quote, received the quote, and scheduled the job. This job was for one side of our house only, and I was worried about color-matching. (The previous residents painted the exterior, but neglected to finish the job, and left one side of the house and the chimney unpainted!) While I had the main body of the house color, I did not know what the trim was. Julian color-matched it for me and it was perfect! The job was seamless, and honestly, I wish he could have redone the entire place! Aside from the main paint job, Julian also agreed to do some patch work on the frame of the front door. (We removed the screen door, and the hardware left indentations, screw holes, etc.) Julian expertly patched it all, and then repainted the entire frame so that it would look like new. I am so happy with the result! One other thing I really appreciated was how accommodating Julian was about the difficulties of the job. We have DG (decomposed granite) on the ground, and when it gets wet it is like working in wet sand at the beach. We also have a fence on that side of the house that is all but unusable and completely in the way. Julian worked around all of this without complaint. He is clearly willing to go the extra mile!
