Atmospherically set in the Greyfriars Kirkyard, the church building is packed with historical interest and amazing architecture. The stained glass windows create an amazing light on bright days and the huge organ is impressive to look at and even more striking to hear. The National Covenant was presented and signed here and the church has played an important part in Scottish history ever since. It's well worth popping into the church building if you find yourself in the Kirkyard during opening hours, where you will find friendly and helpful volunteer staff who can tell you lots about the fascinating history of the place. read more
