Ordinarily, I wouldn't even bother writing a review for a Greyhound station (I think we all know they're gross and unpleasant)... But this one is far beyond the average standard of unpleasantness. Firstly, before you even step inside, there is ALWAYS someone waiting to accost you. Whether it be unwanted catcalling and remarks or someone asking for money or trying to sell you drugs, there's always at least that ONE person. It's as though Greyhound hires them to stand out there and set the tone for the experience. Then once you're inside, the staff are (for the most part) VERY rude. They clearly would rather be anywhere else, and while I can't blame them, they DO get paid to do their job. You wouldn't know it based on how some of them do it. The station itself is constantly grimy and neglected. Again, this is taking into consideration that the bar is not set very high. Yet somehow the level of grossness in here is astounding. I've been dropped off at curbside stops more pleasant than this location. Finally, once it is time to finally board your bus, everything is so disorganized that it might take anything from 25 minutes to an hour and some change to board. Yes, recently I've had it take an hour to board, after a four hour delay. Pure nightmare material. I can't say enough about how badly this company is run, but this station specifically is appalling. read more

December 19th, 2025 Greyhound has truly gone to the dogs! COMPLAINT Columbus to Cincinnati BSC-11 was an hour late. Greyhound did NOT provide a delay notice to myself and the rest of the customers. I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to reach Greyhound, finally I reached Customer service, a woman with language challenges answered and told me she could NOT track the bus! This is totally unprofessional and negligent. We were waiting in subfreezing temperatures. When the driver finally arrived, a plump, middle aged red haired woman. I confronted her about the negligence of Greyhound, she said it was their responsibility to follow up with the customer. When I boarded the bus I and other customers complained of Greyhound horrendous service and the consequences of the hour delay.The driver got on the speaker and threatened to put me off the bus for my complaints. The late bus made another stop back at the Wilson Road hub to change buses. The bus was not ready and a brunette woman had us waiting in the cold. This made me more upset, so I approached her and told her she needed to get us on the bus because it was cold! They already made us wait an hour, there was no excuse to make us wait longer. After we boarded the bus the brunette woman pointed me out and security asked my to exit bus. I ask why I was being asked to leave the bus. All he could say is, "The driver wants you off the bus" but he couldn't tell me why. I remained on the bus, then the police came on the bus, forcefully removed me from the bus. I was arrested and booked for trespassing. I was booked , went to jail and missed my return trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan. My complaint is targeting the Mound street bus driver who initiated the complaint with the police. Both Greyhound and Beacon Buses were at fault for being an hour late, negligent for losing tracking on the bus, and poorly trained bus driver who couldn't manage her emotions and diffuse conflict with diplomacy. read more

The customer service is terrible. I watched a woman ask if she was getting on the right bus and instead of the bus driver giving a simple yes or no she told her to shut up. She then said that she would not answer her question and she will choose who she talks to. If there is one thing greyhound should not take pride in it's having good customer service. They are also an altogether disorganized bussing system. They cancel trips at the last minute and do not offer refunds. October of 2024 my best friend was dying. I was hurt, confused, discombobulated, and dragging. I payed for a Greyhound ticket but I did miss the bus because it was hard to leave her. "According" to their terms and agreement, I miss the bus - no refunds and no exchanges. Okay, I was stressed anyway so I practically forgot about it right after it happened. My son has to go back to JobCorp, I buy him a @Greyhound ticket - the Uber driver gets lost and my son BARELY missed the bus, called @Greyhound - no refunds, no exchanges. Uh? This wasn't our fault. There's nothing you can do - no refunds and no exchanges. Now, because my son HAS to get back, my Mom buys him another ticket but because JobCorp advised 11:30pm was too late, my Mom decided to drive him. I called @Greyhound around 3pm - well before their 15 minute rule (How often do you know something is wrong 15 minutes before? ), $17.00 cancelation fee and I was refunded $4 in the form of a voucher to be used on my next @Greyhound purchase. ‍ @Greyhound has taken my money a total of 3 times and no one, I mean no one, rode on those tickets. My wife was in a trip from Indianapolis, Indiana to Virginia Beach, Virginia purchased at the Indianapolis buss terminal. The bus kept breaking down causing her to miss her Columbus, Ohio transfer. The local agent issued a new ticket for 6 hours later. The buss driver said it wasn't any good. The next local agent said she needed to purchase a new ticket from Columbus to Virginia Beach. Thinking we could get a refund she purchased it. That bus kept getting delayed, an new ticket was issued by the Columbus local agent that also kept getting delayed. After being sranded 33 hours a family member from Youngs Town, Ohio picked her up and drove her half way meeting me to bring her home. Despite the issue was caused by Greyhound and nothing on any of their tickets saying no refund, they say their policy is no refund read more

Scheduled a trip from Cincinnati to Columbus and then again from Columbus back to cincinnati. My original trip was from Cincinnati to Columbus on Wednesday October 31st that trip was successful. My return trip was for 9:45 a.m. coming from Columbus back to cincinnati. I arrived at the Greyhound station on Wilson Road at 3:00 a.m. and immediately went up to the desk about discrepancies I had with my ticket. I asked the ticket agent about that knowing that both Greyhound stations downtown in Columbus Ohio have been closed. The ticket agent confirmed with me that Wilson Road was where my ticket would be coming from and that I was in the correct spot. Again having conversation with me afterwards as for the amount of people that normally come and several other things regarding the 9:45 bus from Greyhound on Wilson road. I hung out for a minute ended up falling asleep at about 5:30 in the morning and woke up at 9:20 a.m. thinking that I had missed the bus I immediately went up to the ticket agent and asked her if I missed the bus going to Cincinnati. Without even looking at her computer she able to tell me that I was at the wrong bus stop that I needed to be downtown which gave me 20 minutes to make it downtown. I attempted to catch a lift downtown and missed the bus by literally 30 seconds. As I was pulling in it was pulling out. My discrepancy is that I confirmed not once but twice with ticket agents on the Wilson Road location if I was at the right location or if I needed to be downtown and I had 6 hours time that I could have made it to downtown. I'm from Columbus so I know you can catch the bus right in front of Greyhound and it'll drop you off downtown. I was not notified by the ticket agents that I'm at the wrong location and I need to be downtown and I had 6 hours to spare. It wasn't until minutes before my bus was to come that I was notified of the discrepancy and that I needed to be downtown. Additionally on my ticket it says Downtown but it gives no direction that so where the bus needs to come or any other pertinent information. I could attach screenshots of what my ticket looks like and what it says on the face of my ticket. It says nothing about the information that I was given by the ticket agent when I realized I was going to be late. I now am about to miss my mother's funeral because the ticket agent didn't notify me that I needed to be downtown and confirmed with me that I was at the right location read more

This is an absolutely wretched company that has no right doing business in the United States. I booked a ticket to be picked up in Huntsville, Alabama to Columbus, Ohio in May if 2022. I showed up at the pickup point in a gas station parking lot. There were probably about ten other people there as well. We all waited for a good hour and a half past the pickup time before were told that the bus had driven by our stop and it was on its way to the next one in Nashville. I was told by some of the people waiting that this was the second night in a row it had done this. I ended up catching an Uber back to a relative's house where I had been staying. I tried contacting Greyhound for a refund and they told me one wasn't available because I had paid a reduced fee. This company is an absolute joke. Greyhound is the raggedyest most unfit operation EVER! They get us to Pittsburgh early where there is no toilet tissue in the restrooms. Then they cancel our bus without telling us Jack squat until 5:01 which is too late to make it to our destination in time. They Then tell us that we haven't been canceled YET, but we may be. It's a straight-up, blue collar atmosphere (the struggle is real). If you are a realistic, down to earth person who needs basic, reliable transportation in a not so luxurious environment, then you'll be good waiting here for 30 minutes to an hour. If you are freaked out by inner city confines and people, then this may not be the transportation or bus station for you, go to the airport. I was traveling from Pittsburgh to northern WI and this was my first time taking buses. At this particular bus station, afraid I'd miss my bus, I was told to stand in a certain gate for my next bus. As it turns out, they had me waiting at the wrong one and I missed the right one. For an additional fee, and 2 additional hours of waiting, I was on my way. That being said, it's a nice big bus station. It was quiet when I was there. The bathrooms are pretty gross, but that was pretty common at the other bus stations too. read more

Call me crazy (many people have) but I don't mind bus travel. So for a recent trip to Montreal, I found a good deal on Greyhound and just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Yes, the Columbus bus station isn't the best, but its really not the worst either. The staff was friendly, the people waiting to board with us were friendly and talkative and once on the bus, everyone was pretty respectful of the fact that it was 11.00 at night and kept the volume down. One of the problems with catching a bus from Columbus is that its not on any of the routes that have the new, fancy buses (with big cushy seats, outlets for your laptop and free wifi) so you'll have to suffer with an older bus that sometimes isn't the most comfortable in the world but it worked well on an overnight trip where I was asleep for most of the time! read more

Wow, you have to really try hard to make this place so bad. Only certain departures are listed on their 2 Departures screen, mine is not. Over loudspeakers throughout the terminal and bathrooms are blasting out the audio from some soap opera that's playing on every other tv in the place. So while you're in the bathroom, you can keep up with your soaps intricate plot twists. Speaking of terrible, their bathrooms smell like a zoo enclosure. Writing all Over the walls, all the TP dispensers were broken, some TP rolls sitting on the gross floor. While you're in there, look up at the AC vents on the ceiling, looks like a cotton candy dispenser, no way those ducts have been cleaned--ever. The loading/offloading bus area is completely full off boxes, and a mish-mash of random cargo so piled up that it is difficult to get on/off buses. Oh, and their soda machines, $3/drink bottle. Oh, and once you overpay for your Diet Coke, it will give you a non-diet Cherry Coke. $3 for something I can't drink. Anyone want a Cherry Coke? I don't. ​Yes I was traveling on Greyhound from Hartford Connecticut to Augusta Georgia my departure date was Wednesday October 22nd at 6:10 p.m. the trip itself was a complete disaster my arriving bus to Hartford was over an hour late which made me late for my bus in New York that I almost missed there was no Wi-Fi available on the bus after y'all have advertised numerous times there was an issue with overbooking so there was hardly any place to sit I accepted that we got to Richmond Virginia where our bus driver got injured and we had to wait over 4 hours for another driver now one single employee explained to us what was going on with the situation after hours four of us that were on the same bus went up to the ticket counter and demanded some answers we were not able to leave Richmond Virginia until 10:40 a.m. which meant I miss my connecting bus in Columbia South Carolina I was supposed to be home at 4:50 in Augusta Georgia I did not arrive home until after 10:00 at night because once I got to Columbia the only other connecting bus was at 10:50 p.m. and it was completely sold out after I was guaranteed that I would have a seat on that bus so after calling the 1-800 number numerous times and getting no resolved the ticket agent at the location in Columbia South Carolina ordered me an Uber to Augusta Georgia where I then had to pay someone to come and pick me up at 10:00 at night so I would like to request a refund immediately or at least a partial refund because this is absolutely unacceptable also in the Columbia office it stated free Wi-Fi in the station the ticket agent informed me that their Wi-Fi she didn't know the password so I was unable to even order my own Uber lift because I wasn't able to use the Wi-Fi that you guys advertise this trip was an absolute s*** show numerous people are filing complaints I plan on doing a Google review as well as contacting The better bureau Business read more

How does this company even exist? We were supposed to go on a return trip from columbus,OH to indianapolis...we went to the bus stop early morning where we were told by a very rude staff member that the bus was delayed indefinitely and there is nothing they can do about it. The staff told us to contact the customer helpline. We then had to book another return journey on a different date and hoped for the best. The first leg of The journey went smoothly...but, while returning from indianapolis, our bus was overbooked....we were booked on the next day bus...we had to spend the night in a hotel in indianapolis....we came back to columbus ohio the next day. As instructed by the rude staff of greyhound, i called the customer care....they were first very friendly and helpful...they later transferred my call to a different department for refunds...it took them 15 minutes just to answer....the person on the other end seemed like she understood my problem but kept me waiting for a solution...she would ask me to stay on line after every five to ten seconds....and kept asking me some useless information...after asking me to stay on line for 100th time, she hung up on me. I called again....no body picked up my call. This is their trick....they make you think it was some network issue but they deliberately hang up your calls as not to give refund. I've never take Greyhound before so this is a first time experience. I booked a round trip ticket and missed my departure time due to circumstances outside of my control. I called a few times and did get terrible customer service over the phone while I was trying to figure out my trip. However, once I called back a third time I got a very nice and helpful individual who was able to help me. At my station, they were kind enough to put me on the next bus and my bus was on time. Theft ring-Bag was stolen. It was on our return trip. Columbus Ohio to Chicago when we stopped in Indianapolis to switch buses it was gone. Thinking more about it now I remember the events that led up to it. It was a morning bus 600 am and there were 2 individuals that just didn't look right. One was talking very loudly and vulgar to his wife. sitting right in front of me at the station staring at me the whole time. The other guy was constantly doing laps around the station talking into a Bluetooth earbud. When we got to Indianapolis the guy with the earbud got off first and immediately went and opened the luggage door before the attendant when I got off I immediately noticed my bag was gone when I got off, but this guy was still there screaming at the top of his lungs into the window. All I'm sayin is there is no security that door should have been locked. Looked everywhere for it no one had it. They said they would forward the bag too Minneapolis if found but won't even pick up the phone so I have no idea if it's been found or not. Thousand dollars in artist merchandise gone. Probably going to take them to small claims shortly here more so about the lack of security and not monitoring whose taking whose bags. read more

Very poorly organized station , it was large room had a blaring tv and some other strange song that played every 10 minutes , it's volume competing with the tv. No speaker system at all , poor display on electronic board , very hard to read , droit temperature was way too warm . Some employees were excellent but others do not care. Bus drivers come in and yell their arrival and rarely can you hear them . The place was clean and lit well . The bus , a WOW not a greyhound was clean and the driver was pleasant. I ride the bus cause train service nonexistent and the town I was going to had no plane service. I also couldn't rent a car one way. I haven't ridden anywhere on a bus since college and the fare was dirt cheap . I would book this trip again only if they company redo that station and made it more user friendly. read more

It's been years since I've travelled via bus anywhere, but most recently, I've realized a new appreciation for MegaBus. On a recent trip to Columbus, I decided to take a quick bus trip to Akron. Since MegaBus didn't have a route, I thought to myself, how bad could Greyhound be? It's cheap and only a 2 hour trip, after all! Contrary to my positive thinking, you get what you pay for. It is the gutter way to travel! Here I was on a mid-afternoon trip on a bus that was filled to capacity. It was one of the days where temps were over a hundred degrees. It was stifling hot as we waited to pull off, and I thought to myself, surely the A/C will kick in once we get on the road. NOT! It was a 2 hour ride hot as the devil's breath. The A/C was on, but lukewarm air was blowing out. I kept imagining myself on one of those busses you see on TV in some foreign land with goats and all manner of stink in 200 degree weather. I was nervous the entire ride that myself or someone else would either pass out from heat exhaustion or an asthma attack! It was almost suffocating! As I looked around, everyone was still, greasy from sweat and drunk from the heat. No one even spoke. It actually benefitted everyone that the heat had all the toddlers comatose. This is why I left Greyhound alone! I'm not sure if anyone said anything to the driver about it or if the bus just needs some freon. Whatever the problem, it was a miserable bus experience, the health of the passengers was threatened, and I have no intention of riding Greyhound again. I have never been so glad to see Akron in all my life! It made more sense to just rent a car and avoid the inconvenience/health threat. #duh When I called to make a formal complaint, I was met with, "Oh we haven't heard any other complaints." Because that translates as, "Too bad, too sad for you, sucka," I just had to yelp about it. I am so grateful that I've never had to personally use Greyhound to get anywhere. But I've had a number of friends who have had the displeasure and unfortunate timing of riding with Greyhound. This Town Street depot is the pinnacle of a depressing farewell staging ground. The passengers are as depressed and gray as the employees. Shuffling of feet, hanging of heads, and the cry of babies fill the air. You almost expect the gnashing of teeth to be a part of the din. Am I being over dramatic? Let's take a recent escapade with a friend as an example of the trauma I'm talking about. A friend had come to visit for the weekend, and she was supposed to leave on a Friday. I took her down to the Greyhound station and she asked a attendant at the desk which terminal her bus was coming in on. Feeling we had the correct information, we waited. And waited and waited. Nothing ever came to pick her up. Searching for a second opinion, we found out that she was given the incorrect terminal, and asked if we wanted to wait for the next bus which was scheduled to arrive in 3 hours. Heck no! Day 2, Saturday. We arrive at Greyhound and this time are certain we have the correct terminal. The waiting process began anew. This time, Greyhound just forgot to send the bus to pick them up! So we waited again for a brand new bus. My friend was tired and furious, and promptly found someone to refund her the price of the ticket. I would rather hitch a ride from strangers than be forced to use Greyhound. read more

That's true of all the Greyhound depots I've been to, it's true, but the one in Columbus seems lost in some dingy corner of the early 1980s. But wait! The restaurant here! Is... well. Skip it. I traveled through this bus station last month in september, but I waited to write my review pending the official complaint I filed against them. My son and I originated out of buffalo, ny and traveled to columbus ohio for the taylor swift concert. This particular bus station caused my son and I to miss our bus, stranding both he and I for two hours. We missed the bus because of the incompetence, and rude behavior of the supervisor and his even more incompetent and rude ticket agent. My son and I went to board the bus and I was informed that I did not have the appropriate tickets. We immediately ran back to the ticket agent to give us our tickets and she just wanted to argue with me. Come to find out the buffalo station did not issue the tickets to go back to buffalo on the round trip ticket. All this rude employee had to do was look at my confirmation number and reissue the tickets. She chose to be disrespectful and rude. Both she and the supervisor refused to give me their names. The supervisor told me his last name was none of my business. I was a little irate at this point with having to miss our bus and being stranded for 2 and a half hours in that crime - ridden and nasty bus station. I stated that the ticket agent is incompetent and should not be working with customers. She evidently did not like what I said because she started throwing things (Very professional). We ended up getting our tickets and we got out of there after the long wait. There is so much more to write on this horrible ordeal, but I am sure I will run out of room. Please feel free to contact me privately for more details. By the way, the district manager called me numerous times reference this incident and I received an official apology from the bus lines. The district manager concluded after his investigation that it was the buffalo station that screwed up not his bus station. He then offered me free travel vouchers to use throughout the year. I ended the conversation and I never contacted him again. Why would I ever want to travel with them ever again? Especially if you are travelling with children do not use this mode of transportation. Between the bums, druggies, and criminals that hang in and outside the stations you are sure to be bummed consistently for money and cigarettes. I had no idea it was this bad. I have told everyone that i know locally who works with making travel arrangements for their companies to never use this company. I had a very good experience with the bus when I took it from the Columbus station. I would strongly suggest arriving early and booking in advance. Know that the bus station isn't the cleanest area, so be prepared for that. Rated 5 stars for quality of service. Probably about 4 stars for cleanliness. UPDATE: My most recent trip with Greyhound has left me even more impressed. I liked the communication between the staff and passengers. Tickets are very expensive, clearly overpriced. The buses are always late, they will let you wait in the bus station for an hour or two without giving you any information. Sometimes it's more than that. Everyone pretends that they don't know what's going on when the truth is that no one really cares. In addition to that the seats are not always in good shape and the buses are really cold due to excessive AC. Strongly recommend to avoid this line of bus by any means. If you can drive or find another company, you'll be doing yourself a favor. read more

Rude staff. The 2 ladies behind the counter working last Tuesday night the 19th were terrible. Had a phone issue, so could not bring up my e ticket-asked if they could print it-she gave attitude and said she would look. aid she didn't see it, and basically blew me off. Finally got phone to charge and found confirmation number, woman next to her found it and said since it was a round trip, that is why it was not initially found. Look, I get it-it's Greyhound. Along with the rude and unprofessional security guard that night, it made for a horrible experience. Not asking for a modern, clean building-I get it-but this made my decision to never ride Greyhound again. I'll pay extra and rent a car. I wont even get to the empty bottles and vomit on the return trip to Cleveland. read more

This is by far the grossest greyhound station I've been in so far. Only gets two stars because they were pleasant about storing my luggage over a long layover (it's $8 in case anyone is curious). If you're here early enough in the day I would suggest spending some downtime waiting for you next bus at the nearby art museum instead. They let me read in their pretty and sunny lobby for free. read more
