Terrible customer service. My bus had an hours-long delay, which would have prevented me from getting to my destination in time. To their credit, I was offered either a refund or to rebook my ticket. However, there was only one other bus that day and it was leaving an hour from when I got the notification, and I was about an hour away. Out of desperation I flew to the bus station and missed it by about 30 seconds. They are now refusing to refund me despite the delay, short notice, and paucity of alternative options. I was informed it was my fault for choosing that option and for choosing to travel that day. It's great to know how they treat a customer who they put under significant stress and forced to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a last minute train ticket to get to my destination. Will certainly not make the mistake of "choosing" to use this company again. read more

I don't write reviews (but here I am) and I refuse to take buses anywhere due to comfort, but today I decided to take a Greyhound to catch my plane in New Jersey and save a little money. First the bus was delayed 20 mins but the bus around 5 mins earlier without notice. Second, when the bus arrived my driver parked next to the bus and we began to take my bags out as the bus driver remained in his seat watching us remove my bags. Within a little under 2 minutes the bus driver leaves before we can get to the bus. Third, when I called customer service, they said the bus departed at 12:22pm which was the arrival time (doesn't make sense at all to leave at the arrival time). Lastly, the track your bus never listed the bus as arrived or departed, basically it wasn't updated. I called and requested a refund, so hopefully that works out and will be the only thing that worked out while attempting to travel with Greyhound. read more

This is not much of a Greyhound station. The ticket booth is tiny and is the only place to see a screen of which buses are arriving when. When my bus showed up I didn't have any idea it was there until I went outside and asked the driver. That being said, the driver was super nice and helpful with my luggage, and we were pretty much on time to my destination, Foxwoods. $27 there and back is a good deal to me, so I don't mind not having a fancy bus terminal. read more

TO DO HIS JOB. *One hour later* *Boarding*- Lol- sorry even though the people in charge of directing you to correct gates told you something, they're wrong. Your bus left 5 minutes ago, next bus is in 6 hours, but Train offers a $100 ticket. Thanks very much for quite literally ruining my last moments with someone due to your negligence. Your company is a joke and a hazard. I highly advise taking a train or a different bus (Peter Pan is actually efficient) or effing hitchhiking if you want to get somewhere on time. DO NOT RIDE WITH GREYHOUND. They are rude idiots and through and through awful. read more

I am compelled to give negative stars given my recent experience with the Greyhound/Peter Bus line. My bus from New Haven to Hartford (final destination is Boston) was 2.5 hours late. Fellow passengers and I waited outside of Union Station. Keep in mind that this was a cold, wintery day at the end of November. We watched the sun set before our eyes. Not a single staff came out to explain WHERE our bus was, WHY it was late, HOW LONG we would have to wait for, let alone apologizing for the inconvenience they have caused us. When the bus finally pulled into the station, the driver/staff showed no sign of remorse yet gave us an attitude as we inquired about the bus's schedule. On top of that, although my tickets said wifi would be available, some buses have wifi and power outlets, while others don't. I highly recommend fellow travelers choose a more reliable and pleasant bus line, at least for the Boston - New Haven (and vice versa) route. Better yet, go with the Amtrak. read more

When the bus was 40 minutes late (and was, the whole time, untrackable on the app) I ventured into the bus stop station to ask for an update on the bus' status. It was only then that I was informed that the bus had been cancelled. I was offered neither a refund nor an apology. I consequently missed my connecting bus in NYC to Philadelphia. Will never take Greyhound again. I would have much preferred to pay the $$$ to take a train to my final destination, and will do so next time. UPDATE: I was allowed to board on a Peter Pan bus to get to NYC and then take a Peter Pan bus in NYC to Philly. The driver told me that this was THE FOURTH DAY the Greyhound bus from New Haven to NYC had been cancelled. Again- will NEVER Book with Greyhound again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would have given 0. This company has a horrendous reputation and poor customer service. After a bus delay in New Haven, CT I was told to get on a bus to Hartford, CT where I could get another bus to Boston. When I arrived at Hartford, I was told there was not enough room and that all the buses were fully booked. There was clearly a breakdown in communication. I was then told to call customer service, and all that customer service said was to wait 24 hours until my trip was completed, but HOW CAN I COMPLETE THIS TRIP if I'm stuck in Hartford? I'm not even shocked that this would happen, I knew they're a crappy company but they're cheap. Beware, and take you business elsewhere. read more

The WORST bus line ever. Never ever take it. People on board are very trashy and rude. Drivers lower the temperature of the bus down to the 60F and refuse to increase it sligtly if someone asks them! The other day there was a drunk guy in the bus with a bottle of vodka drinking in the bus! Bye bye greyhound! read more

I'm not one to dole out one star reviews. Probably only given one or two since joining Yelp, but this Greyhound/Peter Pan is absolutely terrible. If you can avoid it, do so even if it means paying extra for another mode of transportation. Tried to take the bus to Boston from here. The office refused to help me print a ticket, and by that point all the print shops were already closed in the area. The bus was two hours late. When the bus finally arrived, the driver refused to let me on the bus because I only had an electronic copy of my ticket. Just a terrible experience from start to finish, and from talking to other folks while waiting for the bus it seems like that is par for the course for these bus lines at this station. Take Metro North or Amtrak and skip the headaches. read more

I rely on greyhound to get to and from college/home when I make weekend or holiday trips. However, they are the LEAST reliable bus company out there. Every time I'm forced to make a trip with them, the bus is always at least half an hour to two hours late, and the drivers and customer service have no remorse or solution. I'm currently sitting in the Hartford station after my connecting bus to Worcester left without me, and I was forced to get another bus for an addition charge and no offer of a refund. I now have to wait almost three hours until my next bus comes, and I'll be getting home nearly five hours later than I was supposed to. I've been told a different story by every customer service rep I've spoken to in both New Haven and Hartford, and no one seems to be able to get the story straight. If you need to get somewhere quick, reliably, or AT ALL, avoid greyhound at all costs. It's not worth the headache. read more

I bought tickets online for an early-morning bus. The departure time was 7:30am, and I got to the station to pick up tickets. The person working there showed up at 7:25 in no rush, even though the station was supposed to be open at 7. The bus was then delayed over 4 hours, and I had a meeting to make that depended upon this bus being reasonable on schedule. read more

I used Greyhound this past weekend for a round trip from New York to New Haven. The bus from New York arrived 90 minutes behind schedule. The WiFi did not work and a very heavy smell from the bathroom permeated the entire bus. Coming back, the bus was that supposed to leave New Haven at 8:00 pm did not show up as of 8:45 pm, which is when I gave up and took the Metro North train to New York so that I could catch my last bus to New Jersey at Midnight. This resulted in additional expense to me since the bus ticket was already purchased as is non-refundable. The tiny Greyhound office in New Haven was closed and there was no staff on duty to assist the waiting passengers, nor even a sign to show the status of the bus. I have learned from experience and will stick with the train for my future trips to New Haven. Greyhound is the worst! read more

this place deserves zero stars. hours are posted as something like 10 to 5. i arrived around noon with about 10 packages to be sent via greyhound's freight package service. well, the booth was closed. i talked to the nearby amtrak guy, the nice lady at the coffee place, and two cops, and they all told me the same thing: the greyhound guy is rarely there, meaning, almost never. the place is closed 95% of the time. i called the greyhound 800 number and they tried to track the asshat down, but he wasn't answering his phone. the locals told me he NEVER answers his phone, so don't bother. read more
