I have been to multiple other chiropractors and Dr. Scienski is above and beyond the best. I visited Dr. Scienski throughout my pregnancy and had a very enjoyable pregnancy. My daughter has visited him since she was three days old and he has always been able to ease teething discomfort or combat any sickness. Similarly, as soon as I felt a bout of mastitis coming, straight to Dr. Scienski's I would go and would feel better immediately. Dr. Scienski is incredibly comprehensive. His office offers medical massage which has been amazing! Similarly, he will talk about any supplements or natural alternatives to aid any ailment. He has helped my husband get his Type 1 diabetes on track, he has helped me manage post partum issues, weight loss, colds, flu, etc. He is the first place we go to and often ends up being the only doctor we see. Dr. Scienski takes the time to get to know you and to talk with you about your concerns and questions. He and his whole staff (including Dr. Conrad - who I have seen less often) as well as the massage therapists are incredibly nice, professional, and GREAT at what they do. I've been a patient of Dr. Hess at Indian River Health Center since 2021. He's a very skilled chiropractor, and until recently, I continued to return despite what appeared to be ongoing issues with staff turnover and internal/ legal conflicts with other medical practitioners. However, my most recent experience was so unprofessional, disrespectful, and inconsiderate that I feel compelled to speak out. Before renewing my health insurance, I specifically called the office to confirm which plans they accepted. Based on their confirmation, and after double-checking with both my insurance agent and the insurance company, I chose a comprehensive (and expensive) PPO policy **specifically to continue seeing Dr. Hess.** One day before my appointment, his staff called again to verify that my plan was accepted and that my co-pay would be zero. Yet, when I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist abruptly told me they would NOT accept my policy after all. When I reminded her that they had confirmed multiple times that they did, she replied rudely that the only way I could see Dr. Hess was to pay out-of-pocket, and she added, "If you don't like it, you can go somewhere else." I was stunned. This was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful on various levels. Patients deserve honesty, consistency, and basic courtesy - not to be misled about coverage and then dismissed. I texted Dr. Hess directly afterward to allow him to address the situation. It has now been over a week, and he has not responded at all. Unfortunately, this silence speaks volumes. I've supported Dr. Hess over the years, even defending him when others spoke negatively about his conduct behind the scenes. But after this experience, I can no longer do so. **No patient deserves to be treated this way.**
