But before we knew this, my boyfriend and I were invited here by some friends who are Angouleme locals. They recommended it so highly, but the evening meal just fell flat. We were seated above the chimney in a separate section where it must have been 50 degrees. We all sat sweating through our clothes as we waited for the terrible service who forgot about us (and our friends are regulars!) The thing they did right was serve the 4 year old we had with us first (because we weren't served our meals until after 9:30 when we arrived for 7) The server didn't announce the cook of the steaks as they arrived so my boyfriend and his friend had their steaks mixed up and (also probably because of language barriers) so the two men ate €20 + steaks that weren't cooked the way they had ordered.
