My wife and I went to the restaurant Friday evening for supper. We had a 45 minute wait time; that happens in the evenings at supper. We patiently waited for our turn. We chatted with other customers coming in. None of the people we chatted with had any prior reservations or on a waitlist. These people were all large parties and some of them were drinking from the bar as well. All of the people we chatted with in the large parties were seated prior to us. When our 45 minutes was up, we inquired to why we were not seated. The gentleman at the desk replied, they were on a waitlist or had reservations ahead of you. I know this was not the case we had spoken to the people. When we furthered our inquiry we were told, "you are just going to have to wait there is nothing we can do to help you". We like the food but this is HORRIBLE customer service. this business will not thrive if left to the hands of people like this. We left the restaurant upon hearing their lack of concern over the situation. When i get bad service or bad food i vote with my wallet. I will not be returning to this establishment given the circumstances. too many other good places to eat with good customer service to put up with this. Sorry Gringo's. read more

Gringo's put me off my meal because it took too long to get our food. When I got my food, it was tepid and not delicious. The waiter was prompt about our drinks and chips, but I had to wait entirely too long for food that should have been piping hot and delicious. The long wait may have been somewhat acceptable if the restaurant had been busy. That restaurant was less than half full. There appeared to be a lot of employees there at the time. Also, the waiter should have, at minimum, apologized for the long wait. He didn't. All in all, it was a terrible experience, and I most likely won't be going back to that location. read more

So until today, I don't think I have ever had chicharrones and truthfully, I'm not sure if I will ever again. Not that they are bad, it was just a totally new taste to me that was different. My wife thoroughly enjoyed them though. The queso is good- not great. It almost seemed to have a canned taste to it. The dining room table was nowhere near full but they were terribly understaffed and there was a 30+ minute wait given- even though it was actually closer to 15. They do have free soft serve at the door which helped to pass the time. The vibe is really laid back and the restaurant was very clean. Our waitress, Sam, was top notch- attentive and informative. Here's my review of the food. The chicken fajita burrito looked fabulous but unfortunately, the taste did not match. The chicken was terribly dry had more of a burned taste than fajita. There were no beans in the burrito- just dried up chicken rolled in a tortilla. The plate was burning hot- I assume from sitting in the window under a heat lamp, as the queso had burned a bit. The rice with the burrito was not good at all. I think it was microwaved and had clumped and then kind of cooked under a heat lamp. My wife enjoyed the fish tacos. Her rice was better than mine but was served on a separate plate and probably did not sot under a heat lamp. The food service was pretty reasonable and the cost was average. A solid 3.5-4 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service. read more

21 June 2024, We had a crew of six and were served by Miss Isabella and she was amazing. We are a little loud but after some fire training Isabella helped us recover and refuel while being very cool and patient with us. Southwest egg rolls were awesome and the others guys sampler plates and fajita bowls were perfect. A few waters and cool beverages tied everything together. She was a dear and set us up with our doggie bags with a little extra and we appreciate her for that. Love me some Gringos! I go to different locations often and have tried so many items and have not been disappointed. This is a Tex-Mex type of Mexican food. India was our waitress on another day & she was wonderful! she made us feel welcomed & had a great sense of humor. Go India!

So, after our terrible experience at Gringo's, I was contacted by the GM of the establishment. We were invited to return and give them another chance. We went last night and had a great dinner along with the opportunity to interact with some of the staff and were impressed by the food and service. The atmosphere, as expected for a Friday night was a bit loud, but tolerable. We were also able to personally thank the GM for responding to us in such a short time, very impressed by her overall attitude towards the customer. We will return to this location in the future, possibly on days when the crowd is not so large. read more

We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our table. They still could not have the table ready so we went to Chuy's Mexican restaurant which seated us within five minutes. I know it was Saturday and it was very busy, but we were told several times that we had the table that was being cleaned and then it was given to someone else. Gringo's gets a C for effort. Suburbs on a Friday night is never a good time to experience a chain restaurant especially these days. My whole family met up there for dinner. We decided to eat early but not early enough. It was a good long wait. Like over an hour. No biggie. So we decided to get some drinks at the bar while we wait. So there's a system to this and if you don't follow it, then Bartenders like Ms. Alyssa get real Bitchy with you. I was shocked at her cavalier attitude and over all just don't give a damn to help. But again, it's the sign of our times in the Hospitality Service industry. She did service us, but made it clear with her Bitchy attitude to go to line over at the other side of the bar. Then proceeded to slam our drinks in front of us and then catch another tude when I asked for a Lemon and not Lime. Wow!! Our Server and Manager of that evening saved the evening. They all tried to rectify as best possible. I want to say Manny was our server. Very nice young man. Very kind and always check on us. The Manager did the same. Food was just okay. Not that great. Stopped here for a quick bite before heading home from MD Anderson and it was great. The place was packed but the wait wasn't long at all. Restaurant is clean and very nicely decorated. They bring out two salsas and both are very good. For entrees my wife got the Cabo salad and I got the ribeye street tacos. My wife really enjoyed the freshness of the chicken and they make their own ranch which was great. The ribeye tacos are to die for and I highly recommend them. Give this place a try. Our server deserves 5 stars because our server was hilarious and have great service! The food was meh definitely need a revamp! But the drinks are the best though! Followed instructions to pick up order. When the order was 15 minutes late, I went in told them I was there for a pick up. The guy behind the counter said it wasn't ready yet and it should be out in 5. Another 15 minutes goes by and I go back in. Different guy tells me the same thing. He did apologize. A friend of mine had been drying for me to try this place and we finally got the chance. We got there at 11:30 and it was already packed but there was no wait to be seated, and our waiter came over fairly quickly. We both started with pineapple margaritas, I ordered the chicken and beef quesadillas while she got the shrimp and crawfish enchiladas. By all the pictures of the different meals we have ordered here, it should be obvious how much we enjoy this place. Not only is the food always great but ambience and service is always welcoming. We ordered nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas and street tacos and loved them all. Nevertheless the chips and salsa are fresh, thin, crispy and salted just right. They give you 2 different salsas a red and a green one. We are obsessed with the green salsa and always ask for extra servings. As usual the food was pretty good! The service however lacks a little to be desired if you sit at the bar. We got drink's pretty quickly and it was all downhill from there. We had to tell both bartenders we were ready to order multiple times before one of them actually took our order. Once we got our food they both proceeded to ignore us! I thought we were making it easy by putting the credit card in the glass with our ticket to indicate we were ready to check out, but no, we still waited another 10 freaking minutes before I got the attention of one of them to check us out. As we were leaving the guy sitting next to us stopped me and asked did I think the service sucked, to which I replied YES! Hope he was an undercover manager! As with all Gringo's restaurants food consistency is lockdown. I'm sure McDonalds is shedding a tear, as the tia-juana plate in Pearland is just as delicious as the tia-juana plate in Spring or New Caney. So the division in these stores comes down to service and cleanliness. Service here was great, there is clear, thorough and concise information from the hostess and the bar and waitstaff are very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and quite personable. A grade. The place could of been a little cleaner though the small "play area" had the remnants of snacks from toddlers past on the turf and I saw a huge strip and wad of toilet paper at the front of the ladies bathroom, I shudder at the thought of things behind that door.
