Food was okay as it was my first time there but the restaurant itself could be a bit bigger as it was very cramped.

We weren't offered a second round of drinks until after we'd finished our food, and only got water with the bill. Weirdly at this point the server became super friendly - maybe she'd received some good news halfway through our meal, or was happy we were the last customers! Food-wise the cheese fondue and nachos with everything selection I don't think wowed anyone but were nice enough. My tacos were all fine although completely disintegrated once I added sauces. The carne asada was definitely more like braised meat than steak, but still tasted fine. The shrimp was again fine but unremarkable. Overall the taste couldn't compare to the fish tacos over at Fusion Lab. My taco dorado had the nicest filling (guacamole, chorizo) but it wasn't the best deep-fried taste - not sure whether that's just my preference or something about the oil but would give them the benefit of the doubt. The huitaloche enchilada wasn't that exciting in the end - basically a sort of mushroom flavour, I wouldn't go for it unless you lurve mushrooms. I think Yayo is right this would be good as a late night place for some snacks after drinking, however it seems to close by 11 even on Saturday so they might be missing a trick there. Overall I wouldn't say no to going back but nor would I suggest it.

I'd seen some terrible reviews of La Casita online but if being a person who writes online…read morerestaurant reviews teaches you anything, it's when other ones are not totally legit. So I ignored them and went anyway and I'm glad I did because it was a really delicious, good value meal with great friendly service. Rich and I shared the choriqueso and the guacamole bowl to start. The choriqueso as you may be able to guess is a ton of chorizo with a ton of melted cheese. Of course this was bloody delicious. The guacamole was good too, I'm not sure what was achieved by it being in a tortilla bowl but it definite didn't detract from anything. For mains I had tacos el pastor and Rich had fajitas with chicken and chorizo. The tacos were great - no weird hard shells here - and the filling very tasty. If I had any complaints here it would be that the meat had a slightly 'chalky' aftertaste, so possibly I'd try another taco filling on another visit. The hot sauce that comes with the tacos is pretty bloody hot, believe them when they say that. Rich's only complaint was that the fajitas came with a large amount of filling and only two small tortillas. To drink I had a bottle of Sol and a very good, very strong margarita. Rich had a pint of lager and a rum and coke. For two starters, two mains and four drinks we paid around £50 which I thought was pretty good. I'll definitely be back! I just hope it sticks around as businesses seem to come and go in this location (so go support them!).

A layer of lettuce sat on top with cream served with pico de gallo (Fresh Mexican salsa), and a spicy dipping sauce. The pulled pork was juicy and full of flavour, the outside was nice and crispy, and the spicy sauce was the perfect addition. I made a major foodie error, and ordered the Cochinita Pibil burrito for my main, which is basically an upsacle non-fried version of the Chimichangas - in my defence: PULLED PORK! The Cochinita Pibil was slow cooked pulled-pork marinated in oranges, lime and traditional Mayan flavouring, and was spot on! I HAVE NO REGRETS The restaurant is a quaint little place at the Chorlton end of Barlow Moor Road, with a large open window and terrace, which is great on a warm Summers' night like on the night I visited. The inside is filled with Mexican style décor, like an awesome painting depicted Cinco de Mayo celebrations. The price was very reasonable and service was great, friendly and attentive, and I will definitely return to sample the guacamole, and bigger variety of their dishes.

I thought it was about time I got back on to the Yelp horse…read more Anyway, I never had the pleasure of trying this place when it was located in the city center. As a a treat my better half decided to treat me to dinner..fancying Mexican food he suggested Chiquitos.. I was like nope ..lets try here.. I had not realised it relocation until he said it was round the corner from him.. Stepping in, the decor was spot on. Nicely spaced out tables, perfect lighting oh and doors on the ceiling.. The background music was epic for me, full of nostalgic hits from my youth ahh. Immediately we were greeted and seated by a kind waitress who was a little too keen taking our drink order but then returned after a few minutes. For those that don't drink there is a plentiful innovate mocktail menu amongst a good selection of beer, wine and cider etc. I chose a standard pino colada which was the perfect consistency and booze balance, Himself had a standard cup of tea which was served in bone china :) The menu itself is varied too, it ranges from Mexican, Thai to Brazilian. Knowing by now not to not have eyes bigger than my belly I settled on a Seafood Stew served with rice and beans. Himself selected the beef strip burrito. The quantity of seafood in mine was plentiful. It contained fresh tasting prawns, whitefish, green lipped mussels and squid. It was similar to a Thai soup but thicker and went well with the accompaniments. He was very pleased with his burrito, I was too full to try any of his . Finally we checked out the desserts, I was slightly let down as it lacked churros :( so we passed and enjoyed a liqueur coffee instead. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty and averagely priced. The service was very attentive with friendly staff asking at the right times if everything was okay. Oh and they had lolly pops on the way out...winner.. Would I be back? Yes certainly.

I had the Hungry Gaucho which is basically a burger but that doesn't do it justice - the burger patty is topped with pulled pork, barbecue sauce, bacon and cheese and was astonishingly good. Served with fries which very nice if a little bit too salty for my taste and onion rings. Sparky went for the lamb tagine - not something we were expecting to see on the menu since someone had described the place to us as "steak and burgers". The tagine was great and the lamb practically melted in your mouth. It gets very busy here very fast, so book a table if you're coming. A little bit on the noisy side, and the drinks aren't cheap but the food is definitely worth it.
