Asked them to come out last March to cut some low level branches off a large pinetree. Was talked into taking off more than the low limbs. They butchered the tree and left it looking horrible. I let it go because it was in the backyard and hoped HOA would not complain. Less than a year later, the tree has died and it dropping the remaining branches like crazy. HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT USE!! They were scheduled to come to our house this past Monday and prune two (2) trees. They showed up on Tuesday afternoon and cut down two of our crepe myrtle tress at the front of our yard. And then they proceeded to leave and then come back and cut trees at our neighbor's house. When we asked if they were coming back to our house to finish the original job we called them about, they told us they would be back on Wednesday morning. No one has reached out to us but rather, my husband has been reaching out to them for resolution. Called them to get a quote on removing a smallish to mid sized tree that had already fallen ( all they had to do was cut up the trunk and remove it. A small job.) The rep who came out looked at the tree trunk... and asked me if I had a price in mind. He would not give an estimate even when pressured. He kept asking if I had a price in mind. I said, "Okay, $100.00." (Just to remove a smallish trunk?).He was not interested in a job that cheap. He left without giving me a price. They did NOT ask permission to be on my property. What else I don't appreciate: When they were done, they left a mess on MY property for me to clean up. I've often found American tree companies to be price competitive (likely cheaper) and the quality of work is much better. Terrible service held my refund hostage until I removed my original comment. I had my service done end of January. They did six of the seven trees we agreed to. It is now End of APRIL. I've been calling and texting back to back to no avail. These people started to ignoring my calls and text. UNTIL. I posted the review AND REPORTED THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!! They were removing several trees for the neighbor across the street when one of the guys asked if there was anything I needed done. I ended up having a Bradford Pear removed. UPDATE: Grizzly was very responsive to our issue and replaced the downed trees within the week. While working at a neighbor this team - without permission - cut down two trees on our property and felled a tree onto our landscaping without so much as knocking on the door to say they would be needing access to our yard or discussing killing any of our trees. The trees killed were family trees celebrating lives and loves of family - irreplaceable. read more

The workers showed up when they were not supposed to be here, cut trees I did not ask to be cut, cut others and left the debris behind, broke pathway lights and did not say a word. Reached out the company who initially insisted they would be back to finish and clean up, but all I got was a round around. Some guys came and blocked my drive way so that I could not get in and when I saw what they had done, they gave no answer (could not speak English) and left. I have contacted the company over and over to try to get some money back but suddenly they can't return calls or messages. Very disappointing. Nice sales person, but never I never received a quote via email as promised. I messaged them through their website, but still did not receive a response. A couple of days later, I telephoned and left a detailed voicemail message. Evidently, they never bother to listen to their voicemail recordings. Instead, they use caller ID and treat each missed call as a potential new customer. This is a very inefficient and discourteous business practice. I ended up receiving a verbal quote over the phone. When I heard the price, I needed it repeated. I thought the company had mistaken my house for someone else's. The quote was three times the price of the competition. read more

We recently used Grizzly Tree services to trim a tree, cut some other ones down and clean up old pine straw and leaves. The gentleman arrived early at 730 to get started, and were finished by 12. They even took the trees versus other services that either wanted to throw them over our fence or charge extra to haul or grind up. They cleaned up and were very friendly. This should have been a five star review for the actual work that was done. The crew was incredible. Very hard working and professional. They lost two stars for horrible communications and erratic timeliness. They showed up a day early with no warning at a very inconvenient time. Then it took then four days to return to finish up. Edgar ignored at least five calls we made to him trying to see when they would complete their work. We needed to plan a fence installation and could not do so until they completed their work. They ran advertising heavy and I called and within 24 hours Edgar arrived Friday and gave me a quick quote; no paperwork. We agreed on 6 days later they would return to do the job. On Wednesday no one showed and I called Edgar and he said he would see if they were on the way. I told him to call me back one way or another since I had to take off from my job to be there. I never heard back from him or Grizzly. I called their main number 2xs and it went to Edgar's voice mail each time with no reply / return call per request. I have learned that this type of company makes its commission on giving out quotes, not honoring the job promised. Edgar not replying back is proof he does not care what his work crews do. Beware of Grizzly sales people like this! Companies that advertise heavy in an area do so only looking for the largest $$ jobs. After speaking with Rhino and confirming they could do the work we need done after the estimate by Miguel I couldn't believe they actually came the same day on a Sunday. After the storm on Saturday crews were very busy and working all hours. I was a little Leary when the trucks showed up to take 2 trees down and it said Grizzly on the trucks. It was confirmed that both companies are related. We have used Rhino in our subdivision before and I know the professional work they do. I was very pleased and not disappointed that Grizzly with Adrianne supervising and working along with his team of gentlemen was just as professional and cleaned up everything and no damage to anything including shrubs and plants in the area. After having work done by both companies I will for sure use either of them again in a heartbeat and the estimate was very fair for 2 trees, hauling everything away and immaculate clean up. read more

My neighbor recommended Grizzly Tree Experts, and he contacted Lester, giving him my name and address. Before I had time to catch my breath, Lester was in my driveway. I was totally caught by surprise, but I went ahead and discussed what I needed to have done. We talked it over, he quoted me a price that I felt was excessive, but without taking the time to think it over, I agreed and scheduled. The crew showed up just past 7:00 am, blowing their horns to announce their arrival. They did sloppy, fast work, left cigarette butts and trash on my lawn, and even argued with one another while working. My property was left a disgraceful mess and the job was never finished. Lester offered to "give me a good price to come back and finish the job and try to make it right." I'm now having to save money in order to hire a reputable company to fix the disgraceful mess they made. read more

Grizzly had been advertising heavily in our neighborhood for some time, so about 6 months ago we hired them when we needed to have two trees removed...one pine tree from our front yard and an oak tree from a side yard. A rep from Grizzly gave us a quote which seemed reasonable, and though he did not speak English very well, we came to a written agreement on price and agreed they would come out the next day, which was a surprise. There was no rush to get these done, and we agreed they would start the next morning, but...about 45 minutes before dusk, the entire Grizzly team unexpectedly showed up and started cutting. They didn't knock on our door...they just went to work. I tried talking to some of the crew, but none of them spoke English. One crew leader used a phone translation app to try to talk to me. Before long, they were working in the dark. The trees were cut down as expected, but the crew used a bobcat which spun it's tracks and left massive 2-foot deep, 6-foot wide holes in our front yard. When the trees were loaded up, they were going to leave without even trying to patch up their massive divots. They ended up throwing some loose leaves and branches in the hole, along with a few buckets of dirt (which they got from another part of our yard!) and decided that was good enough. They also had troubles getting their wood chipper running, and ended up draining a gallon or two of bad fuel out of it...which they dumped directly into my neighbors yard across the street. I'm not sure what they were thinking. You could smell it in the air for weeks. So...the tree-cutting went well, technically speaking, but our yard was left a disaster. It's now around 6 months later and I just finished getting the yard mostly back to normal. I had to bring in a couple of yards of dirt to fill the divots and tried re-seeding the grass (with mixed results). Small branches that were cut from the pine tree are still hanging where they fell...in the branches of surrounding trees in our front yard, too high for me to get to. In the 30 years we've lived in this house we have used other tree services and have never had such a bad experience. We could not possibly recommend Grizzly Tree Services to anyone for any purpose. read more

I had two severely overgrown holly bushes (over 8 feet tall) at the front corners of my house that I needed to get removed. I received a flyer in the mail for Grizzly Tree Experts offering a tiered price discount for services, as well as free stump grinding on all tree services. I decided this sounded like a good deal, so I went to their website to request a quote and discuss potentially scheduling services. In about 5 minutes, I had a phone call back letting me know they had workers in the area, and asking if they could send someone over to do the estimate. Estimator arrived within the half hour of that call, quoted me for the work, and let me know they could get it done that day. Even though it ended up being later in the day, the crew showed up, were extremely efficient in removing the trees and chipping them up and hauling away the material. I asked them about the stump grinding, and the crew indicated that this would be handled by a different crew, possibly the next day (this was on a Thursday). Midweek the following week, I was contacted about if the work had been completed and to make arrangements for payment. I indicated that the stump grinding had not been done, and the representative told me they would have a crew out to take care of it that day, they also let me know that they would be sending me the invoice to pay. The crew showed up that afternoon, and were quickly able to get the stumps ground out, and the areas around cleaned up. After clearing up a small question concerning the invoice related to the discount to be applied from the coupon flyer I had, everything was resolved quickly and professionally. edgar garcia is unprofessional, unresponsive and hires men who don't know what they are doing. had to call the police on them to remove freshly cut trees from the street. they demolished the lawn of one neighbor, leaving muddy tracks in the back yard and on side of home. they had the nerve to leave gigantic trees on the side walked. they claimed to not speak english but they were able to say, "we will come tomorrow to pick up the trees out of the street and sidewalk". unacceptable. why would you leave trees sitting out in the street, obstructing traffic flow, ingress and egress. there will be charges filed!! read more

Trying to figure out how they had the audacity to park and shred trees right in FRONT OF MY DRIVEWAY! Blocking me off!!!!! I WASNT EVEN THE ONE GETTING SERVICED!!!! My neighbor was the one who was getting their trees trimmed and this company decided to block me and not her driveway. After asking them to move that damn truck so I can go to work, they started trimming and grinding up the trees in front of my house at 7:30am. Keep in mind that there's a noise ordinance that says no heavy machinery before 9:30am. I asked them to move the truck 3 times and by the 3rd I just called the number on the truck. They said "oh they're just looking at a place to park" no sir lol... they found a place and that's right in front of my driveway. They parked there and if you look closely, they have the blocks on the rear tires. So don't tell me they were "looking for a place to park" and proceed with shredding trees. You woke my baby up, left a mess of wood chips on both sides of the house you worked on. So not only myself but the neighbor on the other side of the house you serviced had to rake up the mess you guys made. They came again at 7am the next morning, parked AGAIN in front of my driveway to use the stump grinder to finish up the work. This is just unacceptable!!!! Do better read more

Initially when I called to get a status I got excuses and promises; then later they stopped answering my calls and returning my messages. We wanted three pine trees cut down, one of which was about 80+ feet tall and located close to our house, a propane tank, and a fence. I called Grizzly Tree Experts and Edgar answered quickly and said he could come out in a few hours to take a look at what we needed. He came by as promised and gave me a price that I believe was very fair for a difficult job. We shook hands on the deal and he said his crew would be out the next morning to take care of it. Next morning the crew was not there so I called, and he apologized for the confusion but promised they would be there in the afternoon. The showed up earlier than he said and got to work right away. The two easier trees the cut down in a matter of minutes. The giant tree took only a couple hours and I was amazed at the skill and speed of his crew. No branches or parts of the trunk hit anything despite them having to work in a very tight space. They dragged all the debris to an existing pile of trees we had in the back with their bobcat (we wanted to save a little money by not having it chipped or hauled away, since we had the space to dump out back) and cleaned up any last little bits once they were done. Based on this experience I would definitely call Edgar at Grizzly again if we need more trees down (and we have scores of trees so probably will at some point). He got our job done quickly and a fair price, and now we don't have to stress about that giant pine falling on our house in a storm ever again. read more
