My favorite spot for all things Thai fusion, Grub is one-of-a-kind. My go-to dish is the spicy red curry chicken with coconut garlic rice and it gets better every time I order it. A go to for anyone in Rockland--just solid food through and through. I noticed I hadn't reviewed this place before and am shocked, as I've been going for years (since before they moved location). I have a lot of respect for the chef and owner -- consistency of food, range of options, and, since they moved, even the venue is nice (though I only ever pick up). Finally made my way back to Grub and Chef Waree did not disappoint. The stir fried red curry chicken was A-MAZ-ING. The spice level was on point. I also loved the coconut garlic-cilantro rice and the Thai green curry with Asian mixed vegetables and Thai basil. Sooo good. I do regret not getting the whole crispy sea bass in a spicy homemade Thai sauce, one of the specials of the day, it looked so good I had to ask the table next to me if I could take a picture of their dish. I wish I lived closer but I promise to make my way back there soon. Note: Grub is at a new stand alone location, currently without a sign so it is easy to miss, so for now Google the location and keep your eyes peeled. They are AWFUL people. I ordered roti canai, red curry with coconut rice and penang curry that comes with rice. I picked up the order only to realize that the Penang curry did not come with rice. I called them back and informed them of what happened. And they wanted to return $2 for rice that they didn't give me. But what was I supposed to do with the curry without the rice. After explaining my situation, they said they would give me the dish for free next time. After a couple of weeks, I ordered a takeout and reminded them about the dish they were supposed to give me for free. As I went to pick up the food, the owner had the audacity to tell me that I lied about them not giving me the rice and claimed that she had video evidence. I asked her to show me the video. And she didn't although she said she had the video. She ended up showing me a picture in which she showed me the bag I was carrying with what appeared like a box of curry that came with roti canai. Went tonight. So excited..unfortunately the restaurant was much smaller than expected..bright lights..no atmosphere..total chaos. Once seated we were told at least 40 minutes for food to be served. So happy to have found this GEM in Rockland county. I was looking for delicious new restaurants to explore and found just that here! For my main course my friend recommended the Roti Canai(Malaysian yellow curry) and it did not disappoint. I can't wait to finish it for lunch tomorrow. We also shared the calamari which was the best I've ever had. And lastly we had the spicy Thai wings, which were crunchy and flavored to perfection. I would love to give 5 star but... we have been going to grub and Crossroads since they open and always good food. Went last Friday night @ 6:30 crowded as usual and only one clueless waiter as usual but my Hang up was they ran out of certain items at 6:30 come on out of green beans really I know you do big pick up but not at 6:30 to run out of menu items. This may be our new fave! We ordered a few different items to try and all of them were delicious. Their calamari is perfectly seasoned, fresh, and crispy- even after the ride home. I could honestly order this for dinner and be happy. The curry empanadas were also delicious and the dipping sauces for both really complimented the flavors. Since I moved to Rockland County from Rochester 6 years ago I have been looking for a Thai Red Curry that is as good as my favorites place back home. I've also tried several places in NYC all disappointing. Eureka! Grub has it! The first bite nearly brought me to tears it was so good. Lots of vegetables, just the right level of heat, creamy smooth spicy sauce and delicious rice are the elements that bring this dish to the pinnacle of Thai cuisine. Wow, did Rockland need this place, it's F'N awesome. Its a deliciously charming joint with an interesting assortment of homemade Asian yummies. Its clean and cute. The owner chef and partner rule the place with a dedication only owner operators have. Food is fresh, flavorful and interesting. I tried three dishes, all superb. We are so glad there's more option for Asian food other than Chinese take outs around here. After checked out the reviews here we decided to give it a try. We ordered Korean BBQ beef bun, Spicy Thai chicken wrap, Tom Yum soup, Green curry chicken and coconut cream flan. Overall everything was great. My favorite were the lettuce and the bun. Curry and soup were more on the bland side, not as spicy as we'd like. The flan although was not my first choice, ( I wanted mango sticky rice, but was out of season) was really tasty and creamy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We came in about 1 hour before closing and there were still a lot of people there. Price is very affordable, great place for a quick bite and for some comfort food. Definitely will come back for the Indonesian food next time. read more

I would consider this place one of my favorite in Rockland. Food is flavorful and consistent. The place isn't that big so reservation or coming during non-peak hours is recommended. This place can get busy and rightfully so. I feel lucky we are close enough to be able to order to go or delivery. They don't skimp on spices so if you like it spicy, be sure to let the chef know. I am truly torn here with Grub. Part of me wants to give them a good review just to encourage more Asian restaurants that are not Chinese to open in Rockland. Another part of me knows that when compared to the real deal they come up short. The food is good but not great. I think people in West Nyack who want to try something new will be really happy. We got there around 12 noon for dine in. Any later and there was no seating including outside. The calamari was an awesome appetizer! So soft and flavorful with choice of 2 sauces for dipping. The turon and mango cheesecake desserts were amazing! The chicken tenders were great too! The coconut rice with teriyaki sauce was amazing, including the presentation. Had nasi goreng.
