    Eggs Florentine

Grumpys never disappoints !!!! Arrived on a Sunday morning around 9:45 or so. Was busy and other people were waiting outside, but I guess we lucked out because our party of four was seated right away! Also, they have a parking lot which is convenient! The coffee is always good. I believe they use Caruso's. And it's so fun to see what mug you get because they are all different! Seating is very tight, walls are covered in art. Very eclectic place. Nothing really grumpy about it! Our server was so sweet, friendly, and personable. She was the best. Like I want to be her friend! Our food came out pretty quick. I got the eggs Florentine. Yummmmm !!! I'm always a little iffy ordering eggs for a restaurant, but they poached it perfectly for my liking! Just runny enough! And they were so sweet to give me a brownie for my birthday :,) I love this place!

What a gem of a place. Simple, delicious food. Attentive, kind staff. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, plenty of choices. The decorations are fun, they offered a choice of seating, and everything was clean and well kept. The west 14th omelet: eggs, Swiss cheese, corned beef hash, toast, and potatoes -- all done perfectly. Added onions for no additional charge. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. If I was local to the area, id be a regular. Check it out when you can for great service, and seriously good food.

Thick dry oat milk pancakes. Jamabalaya omelet was ok but not particularly flavorful somehow. Like no spices basically. Cookie was dry and so hard I couldn't even bite more than once into it. It was like a rock. Waited 40 minutes for 1 person seating. Unsure why this place is popular other than it isn't expensive but the food is average at best. Cajun home fries were fine but not special- no crispiness or anything just a bit of Cajun type spice. Fake butter packet things were gross. Need real butter. The wheat toast was good but I can make good toast lol. The pork boxty had relatively dry pulled pork thank god with sauce atop all over a greasy potato pancake. It had good flavor and the grease saved it from being too dry. They tip themselves here! Yikes

I really enjoyed my visit to Grumpy's. We arrived about 1 hour before close so it was not busy. From what I understand there is usually a wait. The dining/bar are is decorated with artwork that is for sale. It has a very comfortable feel when you walk in. The staff is friendly and helpful. They did not hurry us, but we were also sure to be out in a timely manner. The best part is they have several vegan options on the menu. They carry vegan products that many restaurants don't carry. The servers seem knowledgeable and confident about the vegan options as well. As a diner that makes me more comfortable and that alone makes me want to go back. It is a perfect breakfast/lunch spot in Tremont.

Roommate and I were leaving from the dog shelter after adopting a dog (has been neutered and will be back for him) and drove passed this place and saw it was busy. Made a U-turn to come back to it to give it a try. Waited no more than about 20-25 minutes. I had the Fancy Schmancy Burger‌ minus the onions and it was delicious. Egg was nice and runny and bacon was cooked perfectly. Staff was nice and friendly with fast service. There is art work on the walls for sale with a welcoming feeling. Great place for the family and kids.

    Chicken Salad over Greens-very good

Solid breakfast spot! Packed on a Sunday morning but that is always a good sign. Food- 2 people ordered the hangover in our group and ate it up. I had the chicken salad over greens and it was delicious. Our server was kind and always made sure the coffee cups were full! It's not overly large but lots of tables and chairs inside.

Tried this kitsch unique breakfast/brunch joint and had some great dishes. The atmosphere is a little close for comfort, but has a homey feel. Food was tasty, and toast was crispy and awesome! Small parking lot available. This place was hopping when we visited over the weekend.

Grumpy's never disappoints. I love the local art, the vibe and the food. I had the grumpy's special and everything was great! I'm not typically a pancake person but they were really tasty and so enjoyable! Our service was good. Waitress checked in with us frequently and made sure we had coffee and water.

I had heard some good things about this place and we decided to try it with family visiting from out of town. We showed up late morning ish on a Saturday and had about a half hour wait. They were really friendly and helpful and gave us a phone call when our table was ready. The restaurant was packed and way larger than it looked on the outside. It's decorated with lots of cool local art and the mugs are all mismatched. I had my tea in a Christmas mug! Among us, we had eggs benedict, eggs Florentine, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes. Everything was pretty good. I think my biscuit could have been cooked a little more... it was a bit doughy. The hollandaise sauce on the benedict and florentine was delicious. I enjoyed the ambience and our service was really good. I am not sure if it's a new regular spot but we enjoyed our meal with no regrets!

    Breakfast scramble.
    Denise J.

This place was highly recommended for breakfast while on vacation. Interesting little place with abstract art for sale. We ordered breakfast and was a typical breakfast spot. I ordered a scramble and it was good. We also ordered the pumpkin pancake and they were okay, lacked in pumpkin flavor. Customer service was good and attentive. The issue we had flies circling around our area. We had to swat away flies while eating so that was annoying. It is small inside so I can assume a large party will encounter issues with seating. I would return.

Lovely breakfast/brunch place open till 3pm in a pretty chill neighborhood of Cleveland. It's def very small town diner style spot that seems to have been and old house converted. Mary was super nice. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll (GF) pancakes and Eggs Benedict (sub for biscuit instead of English muffin) and shared. The poached eggs were just 1 min over done but the hospitality made up for it. They were very accommodating and super nice from the hostess to the server. We will definitely come back bc it was such a nice experience, great service, and amazing food! Great breakfast place!! Awesome little spot in near downtown Cleveland!

Both were delicious! The biscuit was perfectly buttery, and it was covered in a rich, flavorful mushroom gravy and came with scrambled eggs. It was filling but somehow not too heavy. It was topped with a thin layer of rhubarb jam that brought a nice tartness along with a dollop of sorghum butter and whipped cream, and served with Ohio maple syrup on the side. I could have easily had a whole stack of the pancakes. The staff was friendly, and though the place was busy, the service was efficient. Excited to come here again! We shared the loco moski, paprikash sandwich, and a side of bacon wrapped tots (good option if you just want 2 and not the full appetizer). While the bacon wrapped tots are famous from Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, I actually liked the loco moski and paprikash sandwich more. The loco moski is a fun combination between a loco moco but with pierogi, and I like that the peppered gravy wasn't too rich. The paprikash sandwich was also a great combo of chicken, sausage, peppers, cheese, paprikash, on lightly crispy bread. Parking available as free street parking--though you may have to circle to find parking since it's near the Christmas House. Staff were nice and efficient. The place does feel a little tight in terms of space with less lighting, but there's still plenty of seating and what matters to me more is good food. Overall, great place to try local food. I wanted to try the pierogi and the Polish boy and the KRAUT and having an extensive beer menu doesn't hurt either. Friendly neighborhood watering hole literally on the corner and basically across the street from the a Christmas story house allowing you to eat within eye sight of the leg lamp. I wanted basically everything from the menu that came vegan (spoiler alert there are tons and tons of things) but gastric space comes at a premium on vacation so we settled on the fried cheese. I was very excited to see the Polish boy (and vegan option no less) I didn't have much of a choice. GF ordered the vegan pierogi platter with vegan kielbasa on a bed of kraut. Firstly the fried cheese was head and shoulders above any mozz sticks or anything of the sort that I have had in memory. The breading is seasoned and crispy and heaven on earth. The cheese is PIPING. Like you will burn yourself if you, like me, have no patience. The accompanying tomato sauce is also steaming. So good. The Polish boy was also in a league of its own. Love that they have a vegan version. What a combo. Probably one of Cleveland's most important community contributions. We ordered the latkes to go and they were orgasmic. What a special place.

It's tucked away in a residential area inside an old house, giving it a charm that's impossible to manufacture. The interior is unpretentious, cozy, and full of character... and maybe a few characters too. The barkeeps have plenty of personality. There are no robotic greetings or scripted welcomes here, just genuine hospitality from people who seem happy to be behind the bar. Whiskey dominates the spirits menu, but there's plenty else to choose from. And don't let the casual vibe fool you--you can absolutely get a serious cocktail here, expertly made and perfectly balanced. On the food side, if you've had one too many and need something substantial to soak up the drinks, may I suggest the Polish Platter? I'm so sad about this, but this was not my favorite experience at Leavened. Customer service was great of course but my selections fell short. I got a mushroom and ricotta croissant, which was fine. I forgot the ricotta was supposed to be there because it mostly tasted liked mushroom, but it was good. I also got the cinnamon monkey bread. This was not good. It was seemingly cooked in the paper that it was served in so the top of the bread pieces were crunchy, the middle was softer and then everything else was completely stuck to the paper. I didn't get to eat about 1/3 of what I paid for and I had to work really hard for the other 1/3. Also, the bread had a very spicy taste. It must have been cinnamon and allspice, but it was entirely too much and very overpowering. It truly tasted like a spicy savory bread which is not what I was expecting or wanted. Monkey bread is usually gooey and sweet. This missed the mark, but that's okay. I'll certainly return for another treat soon. Also the bread was looking fire this day.
