So if your after craft beer this is definitely one of the places up go in Oslo. If your allergic to fish then it probably ain't! Let me explain... As well as doing a great array of craft beer this place is also a sort of restaurant that seems to do a lot of fish. The decor inside was like it was designed a bit like the inside of a ship which probably explains the fish connection. When we walked in the smell of Fish and chips was great (in my non allergic opinion) it it was though, bloody strong. Anyways we were just there for the craft beer and we were not disappointed. There was loads of Taps (10 plus) and load of bottles to. We had some great beers including an amazingly named "winter in Bangalore" IPA. The array of beers was top notch, the price as per the norm in Oslo was bonkers, but in general we had a great afternoon. The barmaid even let me charge my phone behind the bar, sadly though she would not change the awful music which loses it the 1 star. On on craft beer hunt? Check this place out. The food also smelled and looked good, but I did not try it so can't comment more than that. read more

I was only in Oslo for 3 days, and I went to this brewpub twice. I think that says...something. Maybe it says that I'm a sucker for a good brewpub. Maybe it says something about the available craft beer options in Oslo. Probably both. Either way, I loved this place. It's tiny and gets busy quickly, but the staff are quick, friendly and efficient. At least half of them are Americans, but they all speak Norwegian and English well. The food is very good for "pub food" and the prices are actually pretty reasonable for Norway. This pub is a landmark in Grunerlokka. read more

Happy to have such a pub just down the road from our apartment. The gal working the bar was very friendly and helpful. At just after opening on a Sunday the place was dead, it was just the hubs and I. We started with beer, I got the winter bock, he a pils. Both were draft house beers and quite tasty. For food I ordered the GB burger, and he the fish and chips. We really enjoyed the food, I took a bite of his fish and it was delicious and well seasoned. It was only one filet, so if you're an eater it may not be enough. My burger was HUGE, I only ate half, the man ate the rest. The fries were nicely friend steak cut fries, very good. We will be back for sure, it's a great little spot to hang out a bit! read more

Today I went to this place, because I wanted to check out the local craft beer scene here in Oslo. I was not disappointed! They have a great selection of home brewed beer and a great choice of other craft beers on tap. I tried a saison with ingwer which was great and a pale ale called peacock which was an amazing brew! They have different stuff to eat. I took a vegetarian burger which had greek cheese and mushrooms inside, very delicious. The place looks a little old school with a lot of beer bottles as decoration. It is cozy, but not very special. The barkeeper was great though and knows about the brews and gives recommendations for beer/food pairing. read more

Had a great time here. The English girl was a great help w/ the selection of beers. I tried the Oregonian Pale Ale which was good. I had the lamb stew with it. The stew was kind of spicy which made it delicious. The bartender was pretty knowledge about the different beers. A must visit while in Oslo. They have Mikkeller on tap read more

Where has this place been since we've visited!?!? This is norway'a savior for expensive food and beer because I would actually pay the real converted money to be here. We ordered: - lamb stew. Real chunks of delicious rumpy pieces of lamb in creme fresh. So much noms. - fish and chips. Solid solid deliciousness. I'd say the tar tar sauce is what got me with the scallion flavor boosting everything over the boat - hot dog. Got the spicy lamb from the bartenders suggestion and it was incredible. Wrapped in bacon with some leaves and radish slices. The only thing was that the casing was so crunchy, it was hard to rip with my teeth and would up all over my chin. Worth it. - beer. Anything suggested is fantastic. The bartender will let you try it out before committing and he seems to have great taste overall. - brownie. After all that, we needed to polish it off with a very creamy nutty brownie. Yum. Overall, I am glad this place exists and was suggested by nytimes. I would come here once while landing and once before leaving just to see the vast difference between food and prices. Dodge the other bar food and just come here. It even looks the way you want it to look... Ceramic tiles and wooden tables with stools. Chalkboards with hand written specials and checks for available beers. read more

Beers on tap were strong, bold and I found a couple I loved. The wheat beer like was tasty and less alcohol than the other that can easily knock you in your butt. Limited food menu, fish & chips is popular one and it smells like it. Still a fun pub to make new friends! read more

Genuinely disappointed, overly expensive for what quality food you get. This place seemed pretty okay from reviews, and an okay atmosphere. We came in (visiting from the night) and ordered the pinnekjøtt, the bangers and mash, side of wedges, and two 4oz beers. Food didn't take too long to come. The lamb came first. It looked okay, but it smelled like an old wet shoe. The ribs were so tough the fork didn't even go through them. It came with petty good tasting gravy, but you can't polish a turd. The wedges were super hot, and the sour cream was still frozen so when we tried to dip the wedges in, obviously nothing got dipped because it was still a solid. One of the two sausages were okay, and only the mash was the one side it came with that tasted okay, don't bother with the sauerkraut or dark brown side it came with as well. The beers were okay for someone who likes fruity vinegary tasting beers--but for sure overpriced. Our whole meal was a total of 630KR, which is SERIOUSLY disappointing with how terrible the quality of food was. A lot of the menu was out of stock as well and we came early dinner time. If you're visiting Oslo, please save your money, time, and stomach and do not go here. read more

I used to love the place for its beer and good decor but the food is the worst I've had in oslo. Took ages getting the food. So crazy over cooked, fries and burger blended into each other. Greasy, rock hard and disgusting. Should of gone to McDs opposite. The fish and chips were just as bad. So over salted and over cooked. Crap Burger and fish and chips cost 35 euros! read more
