Been going here for years and the quality still remains. From the fajitas to the combination plates to the margaritas - they are consistent in the quality and always a favorite with the family. Their service is responsive and always graciously refill the chips and drinks. We've never had to wait long for our food either. Also ask for fresh tortillas as they're always making them. Even though it was not packed, it was still lively and the portion size was perfect for 1. Me and my friends decided to go here on a weekday evening for a friend's birthday, I was surprised how empty it was on a Thursday evening! We started with the chips and salsa. The salsa fresh you could tell! Nonetheless, as a vegetarian I was happy to see a seperate veggie section - I ordered the veggie fajitas. I was surprised they didn't have multiple sizes when I asked like 1/4, 1/2, 1 lbs fajitas. I just assumed each restaurant offering fajitas did that. I ordered the regular veggie fajitas with vegetarians black beans with flour tortillas. They came in a timely manner- the veggies tasted a lot more Smokey than I expected, it came with black beans, pico, guac, cilantro rice. The Dos Equis lager drafts are ice cold and served in a salt rim glass with a fresh lime and quenches the Texas sun after a few sips, the complimentary chips and salsa are the perfect pairing, the chips are fresh thin and salty, the salsa is a complex blend of flavors and bottomless (so delicious). Juan our server was the epitome of efficiency, he was attentive and provided exceptional service and completely understands the art of customer service so if you're fortunate enough to land in his section be sure and take care of him like he takes care of your table. The food here is pretty special we ordered a variety of entrées and no one in our party was disappointed with the quality or quantity of food presented, from the giant burritos, beef fajitas, enchiladas, tamales and beef tacos with sides of rice and charro beam and all the condiments there was so much and it was so good. We were quickly greeted by our server after getting a table. She was friendly and brought chips and salsa almost immediately. We ordered their beef fajitas, which didn't take that long either. This used to be one of my faves, but with there being so many tex mex places, I'd try somewhere else. The queso was super thick even when I added salsa to it. I wasn't impressed with the quesadilla and I was upset about the cost of my drink. I purchased the large, but it was more ice than drink. This was a great find in the Houston Area...Close to Hotel ZAZA...Place is clean and has a very welcoming feel. Another exciting aspect is having the GD in for the fun. Food and drinks are solid! Service is efficient and very friendly. There's a casual, but relaxing ambiance here. My only issue is that the parking lot is a little sketchy. Then my feeling was confirmed when the restaurant gave us a warning with our menus. In summary it stated to not leave any valuables in your vehicle as it will be targeted for a break-in. This seems like common sense, but for the restaurant to give a warning, seems that this happens often. That being said, not sure I would make an effort to come back. read more

Chips are crispy and fresh, salsa is flavorful, not too oniony or spicy, I could eat it with spoon. Fajita and warm tortilla is as good as it can be. Grilled tilapia is light, healthy and filling, combined with freshly grilled vegetables. Parking is easy. They have kids menu, crayons for the kids. Service is fast and attentive even on a Saturday night. First time trying and it was great! Food was excellent! Tried the empanadas appetizer that came with queso for dipping and added a lil of the salsa that came with chips and it was delicious. I got the Al pastor tacos and the flavor was amazing along with this sauce that came on the side. My husband got the pork chop ranchero and man! the chorizo ranchero sauce it comes in was bomb! I love Guadalajara. I eat at another location for lunch and order catering for work meetings regularly. But, I had not been for Happy Hour before this. I was pleasantly surprised by the Happy Hour options. The service was not the best. I don't know why they had the bartender as the person servicing the bar AND the tables in the bar area. The supporting staff in the bar area who filled water/chips and salsa/and brought the food to the table were great. But, the bartender was responsible for taking our actual orders and I think he was too busy. I will say that the beverages were hit or miss simply because we had 2 different bartenders while we were there. I was definitely alerted to the bartender change simply by the quality of my margarita. While our original (male) bartender was too busy to check on whether or not we needed to order. He made a great margarita. Our second (female) bartender used way too much sour mix in the margaritas. On to the food. I wish I had taken a photo of the Happy Hour food options because I can not find the empanadas that Inhad anywhere. They were SO GOOD. They were picadillo type empanadas. 4 small-to-medium empanadas for around $8. I highly suggest them. read more

They're heavy on the sauce- and mine was a tad on the salty side (I'm not a salt person unless a recipe or your family recipe calls for it). The enchilada filling was juicy and well seasoned, and I liked that they gave a nice portion of actual enchilada sauce on top which prevented them from getting dry. The rice and refried beans were good too. The little bits of corn and tomatoes were tasty additions to the rice. The best tasting part of the order, however, were the chips and salsas that came with it. Both salsas were so yummy! My favorite was the green salsa. It would have been nice if they had given a little more of each. The interior of the restaurant was nice as well; it has a kind of cozy warm atmosphere that's slightly bustling. It would be great night out spot for families, friend groups, or dates after the pandemic. The service for take out was ok, nothing great or bad. I can't speak for how the dine-in service would be.
