Well, it's very hit or miss - and more miss than hit I'd say. This restaurant is actually right across the bridge from La Zucca which is also reviewed here (and which we ate at - it was really good)...we thought it looked nice and it was packed with lots of folks who seemed like locals (hard to tell...) Our food was reasonably priced (8 to 10 euros per dish) and simple but good! My green salad was fresh and pretty nicely sized. I had gnocchi with gorgonzola and it was fabulous! Husband had spaghetti with spices and oil and it too was cooked to perfection. Our wine was nice and the service was attentive and friendly. The dishes were simple, yet well cooked and the atmosphere was very relaxed and homey. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good, unpretentious dinner in Venice. :)

This also meant it caters to a local crowd and not to tourists like us. When we got in - the entrance looks like a bar, but then we were shown into the next room, which was the dining room and looked very nice and modern. In the center you have the pizza oven. As part of the deal we had a couple of appetizers, an individual pizza and desert. We were pleasantly surprised when our waiter spoke perfect English. He told us he spent 5 years in Miami, so his English was perfect and made the menu browsing much easier. The Appetizer was deep fried pizza dough with tomato and herbs on top. Having had a similar appetizer in another restaurant - we were familiar with it. It tasted excellent - a kind of souped up Bruschetta. The pizzas were the best we had in Italy. Fresh with a savory crispy crust. We had a four cheese pizza which was excellent with Gorgonzola cheese on top - simply unmatched. Finally, for desert we had a Tiramisu and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was excellent and really made the whole meal better. All throughout - service was excellent. Excellent service: at reception, in the restaurant at breakfast time, at diner. The whole family is involved in managing each part of the business (hotel administration, kitchen, restaurant). Food is very delicious, nicely presented, well advised by the waiters. Local Venetian dishes (sea food) available. There are even toys for small children. All is perfect! We have been here 3 times and will keep visiting in the future.
