Extremely painful and inefficient process!!! I'm late for closing and they are coming back asking for documents that have already been provided. Every day I would get a request for additional information, complete chaos! 2 days before closing they came back telling me they had to adjust the interest rate (upwards of course!), and that they needed more documents for the underwriter. The excuse is that they are not the lender, that the requirements are from the lender and not them. So after all the pain, I'm not even getting the best interest rate!! This is one of those companies that is similar to the insurance companies that hire you and say "You can be your own boss". They head hunt for people that literally have no experience in finance. I know someone who claimed their title was Vice President of Mortgage Lending and this person has no formal finance degree, and had no experience in finance. When he started talking to me about re-financing he clearly was reading from a script. He didn't know anything about finance. Plain and simple, when we are talking about the dollar amount of my home and what I am going to be paying for the next 15-20 years, I would like someone with some experience and a little more financial knowledge than a high school diploma. I'm not saying the guy needed to have his series 7, but you don't need 3 days to tell my what my interest rate or total interest is going to be if we change a few numbers around. I do not recommend this company to anyone. It reminded me of the people that knock on your door trying to sell you life insurance. read more

After briefly speaking with an associate at this business Ben reached out to me and without reviewing a single piece of my finances or financial documents, also without running a credit check, Ben deemed that I was somehow not going to ever receive a loan from anywhere and he basically slammed the door on me. Ben also unlawfully forwarded confidential information that I verbally discussed with his associate along to my realtor. My wife and I have used Michael Murray from Guaranteed Rate twice now, once for our initial mortgage and then again a few months ago for a refinance. Both interactions were fast, efficient, and smooth. I can only imagine what this process would be like if you had to juggle all the paperwork yourself. I essentially passed off the required documents and then waited for them to take care of everything else. In both cases everything was delivered right on schedule and exactly as promised. For our recent refinance we were able to do everything over phone/email/fax. We never had to go into the actual office (although this meant we missed getting to see Michael).
