Six Layer Carrot Cake

3.5 stars. I've been wanting to dine at Guard and Grace for YEARS! Finally I had the opportunity when my partner took me here for my birthday. Parking can be a pain downtown, especially when there's a sports game, but it was also a holiday so not too bad. Get here early either way. You can always park in a garage if needed. Customer service is fantasic overall - top notch and very upscale. I loved the Colfax & Holly cocktail I ordered while waiting. It's their version of a Dirty Martini. I enjoyed most things we tasted, especially the Bread & Butter and Octopus appetizer. DEFINITELY the Octopus. Anyways, the Foraged Mushrooms were incredible too - lots of flavor and variety of mushrooms. The Black Truffle Mac & Cheese wasn't anything special, in my opinion. The most disappointing part was ironically the steak. I got something off their specials menu. Regardless, even friends I talked to before coming here said to get a number of different dishes, but there was no mention of meat. I didn't like any of the sauces either. So sad, but now my curiosity about G&G is satisfied! Either way, ending with the Carrot Cake was a great decision. I don't think I'd come here again, except maybe for happy hour cocktails.

Filet Flight with Oak-Grilled Broccolini and Duck Fat Fries

What a wonderful place for a special evening. Guard and Grace was the perfect choice for our anniversary dinner. The vibe is upscale, the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. For food, my wife and I shared the Filet Flight, which included samples of their prime, wagyu, and grass-fed 4 oz filets. Such a fun way to experience the different cuts, and every one of them was excellent. We also started with the Yellowtail Hamachi Sashimi, which was incredibly fresh. We also got the Oak-Grilled Broccolini and Duck Fat Fries, both of which were fantastic sides. There were also so many other side items on the menu that sounded amazing, including the Hand Made Gnocchi, Black Truffle Mac & Cheese, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Whipped Potatoes. Definitely a place you want to come back to and try them all. As a small extra touch for our anniversary, the staff gave us a handwritten card along with a few dessert bites, which was really thoughtful and helped make the night feel even more special. An easy 5 stars and a perfect spot for a celebration or date night.

Ok... I see you, Guard and Grace 10/10. Highly recommend. This was one of the best birthday dinners I've had. The food was amazing (like... every single thing we ordered), and the service made the whole night feel special without being over the top. Steaks were perfect, sides were just as good, and the whole vibe was elevated but still comfortable. If you're celebrating something--or just want a really good dinner--this is it.

Anniversary Celebration

Went to Guard and Grace for our anniversary and I can't lie... the experience itself was top tier. We sat at the chef's counter and it felt like we were part of the show a little bit. They even blessed us with a couple complimentary bites -- some yellowtail and another joint on a crispy rice cake... both of those were FIRE. Had me thinking we were about to have one of those "yeah we're coming back here every year" type nights. Service? Elite. Davin & Chris Hemsworth (there's manager that looks just like him) and other Managers checking in, our server Abbie was super sweet, drinks hitting... no complaints there at all. But man... the food we actually ordered? That's where it got a little shaky. The ribeye didn't really do what it was supposed to do. We had to ask for a lil salt and I'm sure the kitchen didn't like that. But it was just something missing about the flavor of the steak and the bone marrow texture threw me off -- not how I'm used to it at all. Brussel sprouts ain't hit either (and I LOVE brussel sprouts so that hurt a little ). Crab Oscar was solid though, I'll give them that. Overall, I'd still come back off the strength of the experience alone, but next time I'm definitely switching up what I order. This spot got all the potential... just need the food to match the vibe. Omg I almost forgot. That Octopus we had was sooooo good. I even told my wife I kinda wish I didn't share it with her it was sooo good lol. Again, we will be back. Thanks for making our anniversary special Guard and Grace.

YUM! We were staying in Golden but made a reservation here for a birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint. We were seated right away and greeted with water, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter, Christopher, quickly brought drinks, walked us through the menu, and shared his top recommendations. We started with the Crispy Tuna Rice, then each ordered a steak with carrots and mushrooms. For dessert, we had the cookies and the "bananamisu." Everything was absolutely incredible--it was hard to stop eating, and we left completely full! The crispy rice and the homemade cookies were definitely our favorites. The ambiance is great too--the back room feels more intimate, while the bar and front area are more lively. Perfect spot for date nights or smaller, intimate groups. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Denver!

Seafood Tower

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would. It really is that great & a must go-to when visiting Denver or treating yourself to a meal! Our server John and the rest of the staff went above & beyond. They instantly accommodated us to a lovely table, guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations, ensured a water glass was never empty, and overall treated us like we were 1 in a million patrons. We had the octopus, the seafood tower, the broccolini, the mushrooms, and the brussel sprouts. I truly mean it when I say it was the BEST meal I have ever had and I like to eat good (iykyk)! The flavors were immaculate and well thought. Overall, it's a beautiful environment with some of the best food in the city! 10/10 and will come back if I ever visit the area again.

Mac and cheese
Nichole A.

Phenomenal experience. The food was absolutely fantastic. When you pay money for a steak, you want it to be cooked right and when you want it bloody, you want it bloody. And they knocked it out of the park!! We had a filet that was perfect and tried bites of the tomahawk that was beautiful. Our server was super attentive and helpful. We had the tuna tartar appetizer that was spicy, but the tuna had a fishy taste and not in a good way. That was my only complaint the entire night. Otherwise the Mac and cheese, loaded potatoes, and broccoli were all fantastic sides. Would definitely be back. Its dark and moody inside, definitely created the modern steakhouse vibe. Lots of young professionals who looked ready to spend and there for the experience. We had a pretty large group and they did a great job accommodating us.

Black Forest Cake Cookies

We walked in and were greeted by the friendly front-of-house staff. We were early, so they had us wait for a few minutes while our table was being set up. A John Mayer song came on...I immediately knew that was my sign; it was going to be a great experience. We were celebrating my new job with friends. When the waiter found out we were celebrating, he brought over a hand-signed card from the staff. We ordered a round of champagne to start, and then I ordered a Cosmonaut cocktail. It was two cocktails worth of liquid; therefore, it was sufficient for the whole meal. Our order was: Bacon Wrapped Date appetizer from special evening menu Oak Grilled Octopus Oak grilled verlasso salmon Duck Fat Fries Oak-Fired Carrots Local Farms Grass Fed NY Strip NY Strip flight Filet flight Six layer carrot cake Sticky toffee cake The octopus appetizer was the standout item. The steak flights were unique and definitely worth trying if you want to compare them. There is no NY flight, but our waiter, Jonathan, who was amazing, offered to have it done for my friend since he was interested in trying two of the options. I enjoyed my grass-fed NY strip. The duck fat fries were also very flavorful and a nice option from standard steakhouse fries. The carrots were a little undercooked but had nice flavor mixed with the herb yogurt. They brought us complementary rolls and an herb butter that tasted like it may have horseradish in it. I wasn't a fan of the flavor, but everyone else seemed to like it. For dessert, we opted for the carrot cake and sticky toffee cake. I prefer a deconstructed/classic carrot cake, so the sticky toffee cake was my preference. It was the right balance of sweetness with the cake and toffee drizzle. They also brought us black forest cookies that were incredible; they tasted just like a black forest cake. Guard and Grace has been on my list for years. I am glad I was able to get a reservation and celebrate my achievement there.

Another fabulous dinner at G&G! We went to celebrate our anniversary because we know it will always be amazing. We both ordered a NY strip and they were cooked to perfection with beef tallow and seasonings that hit the spot. Our waitress was attentive, but also allowed space which was great. My only small complaint this time around was that the music in the restaurant was so loud and I felt like we were yelling to communicate. Such a small thing, but worth noting. Of course we will be back!

My partner & I went to Guard&Grace for our early Christmas celebration together. I was impress with the hostess who was wait for me while I came out from the bathroom & guided me to my table (I went straight to bathroom after check in). Our server Brandi was very well knowledge on foods suggestions & overall hospitality that made us feel comfortable. We chose Spanish octopus tentacle for appetizer & enjoy the tender, well seasoned, umami orange sauce that compliment the octopus. We also love the complimentary Tuna bite & melt in your mouth sweet bread. Tomahawk came medium rare per requested. Well sliced & au jus sauce made the tomahawk taste better. I prefer the grilled mushroom for side dishes. The mash potatoes are not that impress to me. It seems to be cheesy on top & tastes bland. I also love my Cosmonaut with luxury globe ice cube with real orchid in it & the server pour the drink in for you on your table. It is strong& tasty. One & done drink of the night for me. We received a card that all the staffs signed for our special occasion & complimentary chocolate cake bite that was moist, tasty & intense on cocoa! Paired well with raspberry sauce. Ambiance is so modern, nice, clean with real flower on the table. I like that inside the bathroom you can get a lot of things for your toiletries included mouth wash, cotton bud, hand lotion, tampon! Overall: Impressive fine dining, Michelin guide with 47ranked of best steak house in the US. I like it all except the $400 price tag. But why not? For the memorable night with your love one.

Some complimentary bread and spread. Very, VERY tasty!!

Guard and Grace is bomb!! The only possible con is it's a little pricey, but man the flavors are great!! I was actually pretty full from all the food I'd had at a conference during the day but I had a res here and wanted to try some stuff. I got a 1/2 order of the truffle Mac and cheese and a 1/2 order of the wild mushrooms. It was exactly the right amount and MAN, the flavors of both were STUNNING!!! I can only imagine how the rest of the food is, they're known for their steaks so I'll have to come some other time to try. In total I spent like $33? Again this is NOT a large amount of food but if you just want to try a little bit like I did, it's the perfect amount. My server was also super sweet, very attentive, and the vibe inside was lovely - excellent for a date or special occasion. It's a big place too, lots of tables, and immaculate bathrooms!! Would absolutely rec a visit!

Hamachi sashimi
Sanea F.

I always need to do an elevated dinner while on vacation. On a busy saturday at 5p, I sat at the chef counter, as I enjoy watching the cooks. As someone that used to work in an open kitchen before transferring to front of the house. I enjoy the interaction with guests. The staff was super nice. My waiter Travis was helpful with suggestions. I was given bread and like a chive butter. The bread was hot and soft. I ended up getting the hamachi sashimi because its one of my favorite fish to eat with jalapeno and ponds. You can tell how fresh the yellowtail was. As my entree, i ordered the 4oz waygu filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. As well as half ordered cod which was just like butter. Both paired so well with the gnocchi! Also, received a free oysters while talking with the executive chef as he was helping out the cold seafood area. Thank you for a great first and many to come, experience!

Absolutely Exceptional…read more Jack's on Pearl exceeded every expectation. As Texas transplants, we've enjoyed some incredible steakhouses over the years and have traveled extensively, but this was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had. We even drove up from Colorado Springs for our 18th wedding anniversary, and it was worth every mile. We started with the wedge salad, which was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor--easily one of the best wedge salads we've ever had. The warm bread service was incredible and paired perfectly with the house-made spreads. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and absolutely unforgettable. The highlight of the evening was the Wagyu steak topped with cheesy potato croquettes. It was cooked to perfection and so tender it practically melted in your mouth. Every bite was packed with incredible flavor and was one of those dishes you continue talking about long after the meal is over. What impressed us most was that every single item we ordered was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients, attention to detail, presentation, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. After reading some of the reviews beforehand, we weren't sure what to expect. In our experience, this restaurant is incredibly underrated. Our meal, service, and overall experience were outstanding from start to finish. If you're looking for a special dinner, anniversary celebration, or simply one of the best meals you'll have in Colorado, Jack's on Pearl is absolutely worth the visit. We will definitely be back and will be recommending it to friends and family. Thank you to the entire team for making our 18th anniversary so memorable. -- Andrea & Sergio

I also got an order of the crispy rice that has a salmon and a tuna. The salmon was way too sweet and had a fishy aftertaste that I disliked. The truffle tuna was definitely the better one of the two. However, the rice itself was absolutely mushy and not necessarily crispy. It also didn't have the best flavor.
