I dropped into this drugstore last month in order to pick up a few odds and ends. The cash was closed so I had to pay at the pharmacy. I couldn't see what the pharmacist was punching in but I thought the total was a little high so, when I got home, I checked the bill. It was an old-fashioned bill with the list of prices but no description of the items. When I had ticked off all of the prices of the stuff I bought, I saw that he had charged me for FOUR more items totalling about $ 20 (plus tax) extra.
I can't say if he did it intentionally or by mistake but the bill had other irregularities on it too. There were a couple of other amounts added then voided - and the total number of items at the bottom was wrong. Overall, the bill was a mess.
Three days later, when I had time, I went back into the store and asked the pharmacist / owner to correct the bill and reimburse me for the extra amount. He said he would check what those other 4 items were - but I don't know how he could with that old kind of bill. Anyways, he came back with a list of 4 items - that did not match any of mine - so it just confirmed to me that he was wrong (or guessing).
When I asked again to be reimbursed, he got irate and started yelling at me. He said that "you can't come in later and ask for your money back". He also said that, when you pay with debit, you accept the charges and you can't go back on that. The problem with that logic is that you don't get the full bill until AFTER you pay. He also wouldn't tell me his name.
Needless to say, I'll never see my $ 20 again and I'll never go to that store again - and neither should you. I also noticed that the shelves in parts of the store were pretty bare and everything was pushed to the front to make it look fuller. I guess they are focussing on the pharmacy side of the business and the post office. Clearly, they are not concerned about customer service. read more
