If you are going to spend a day here to testify at a public hearing, to lobby, or to attend a public event, I suggest you arrive early. Parking tends to fill up plus going through security, so maybe an extra ten or fifteen minutes can benefit you. When your stomach yells at you for forgetting to fill it since you have so much to worry about (parking, finding the right room, finding the restrooms, etc.) the LOB cafeteria has a variety of meals, snacks and beverages to satisfy any diet, restrictions and picky eaters. Plus, it's very cheap. I got a small salad, yogurt and almond milk for a little over four bucks. You can always check the CGA website to see what the cafeteria is serving for the day, so you can just be in and out. They close down at 2:30 pm, but the cafe area stays open until 4:30 pm. There is also a coffee bar kiosk on the third floor that just opened up that has on the go items and fresh fruit, and is open until 4:00 pm. If you happened to miss the lunch hour, there is a small convenience/gift shop located near the concourse that connects the LOB to the Capitol. You can pick up soda, snacks, and some ibuprofen if you've been lobbying too hard. Free wifi is offered so you are not bored waiting for that public hearing, meeting, event, or whatever business you may have at the LOB. I hope my review helps out anyone who has never been here before, just so that you know what to expect.

Completely typical for Yelp to get something like this wrong since a real person rarely checks what other possibly real people are posting. Why must I be surrounded by frickin' idiots?

Superior Court GA 14 - The courthouse

This review of the Superior Court of Hartford, will be written from the perspective of a Juror…read more It was some months ago when I initially received the (dreadful) letter in the mail that I would be summoned for Jury Duty on June 10th. I had to wait till the day before for confirmation on whether they'd still want me. And sure enough, I had to take the day off, to spend the WHOLE day waiting around at court. But this is what a good citizen is expected to do, isn't it? As long as you come prepared, it's not that bad. Be sure to park in the correct parking lot, with a large blue sign marked "Juror's Parking". It was 8:15 this morning when I was expected to arrive at court. Right at the entrance to the courthouse I had to go through security, similar to the airport security, except that bottled water is allowed. Since all day consists of sitting around and waiting, I brought my lunch with me, a book and my AirPods. They have coffee, tea, and water free of charge. They also have two vending machines, one for drinks and one for snacks. I bought some gummy candies, they were $5.00 for a little bag. There was an older gentleman who gasped when he saw what they charged me, "my golly, that's courthouse robbery!" he exclaimed! And I agree. We were given jurors stickers that we had to display visibly. We were seated in a large auditorium style room, with a small screen. Here they played a few videos explaining the process. Shortly after, they called some names to a courtroom where the judges would start their elimination process for the trail. I waited a bit longer, then I was dismissed with a large group of around 20. Before leaving I had to return my sticker. This wasn't so bad. Please dress respectfully and appropriately for the courthouse. And please, please, please don't answer/ make phone calls on speaker phone, all eyes will be on you.

Hartford Superior Court…read more First time serving as a juror at Hartford Superior Court. Arriving on time which is around 8:15am they are particular about opening the door right on time but there was a crowd already massing near the front entrance. Hartford traffic in the morning was crazy as people are trying to get to their jobs while I am trying to fulfill my civic duties. With a designated lot for jurors, I didn't have to pay for parking and my car is secure with a Marshall. Usually parking is street parking if you have business here. Getting in can be a process as they have the metal detectors right at the doors creating a bottleneck. Travel with what you need and don't bring a bag to make the process of getting through security faster. Luckily my coat had big pockets and I was able to fit my IPad comfortably and writing this review on it though I'll have to upload it later as there is no WiFi in the building. The building is pretty old compared to the office buildings in the heart of downtown. The elevator creaked as it moved up to the fourth floor where you are greeted by staff members to check in and then begins to the process of waiting to be called in the room that looks like an airport terminal. The different clerks do their best to understand our gripes as we wait to be called. You'll either be asked to serve in a Civil or Criminal trail and I had to walk across the skywalk to the other building to be interviewed there. An important cornerstone of our society and a place to serve is Hartford Superior Court.

Connecticut is #47 for corruption and lack of holding physicians accountable for their unethical…read moreactions and words for 22 years! Apparently Public Health has pride in this rating. The response to an APRN and DO at the Hartford Hospital Ayer's Pain mgmt institute is vague and lacking in any substance. A letter from Silver Scripts that says "Nurse Angie and DO Hans Knopp said, "she has street drugs in her urine," when the QUEST lab printouts show NOTHING, is corruption, full stop. Hartford Hospital is a bully and all the other hospitals like UCONN coddle the choices. You can't even file a reconciliation form to correct your medication list. If we didn't do it then your medication list can stay incorrect, which leads to reckless assumptions, and inadequate care. That happened to me but it's fine. We have our blinders on 24/7. The healthcare frauds who did this, is NOT being held accountable because Hartford hospital is like Amazon is to a monopoly of online sales. Don't bother filing life threatening situations either because "it doesn't rise to anything actionable," from Public health. Dr Peter Benet is a perfect example. Numerous "Consent orders," and lapses in his license and he's hiding behind Halloran and Sage, while he pays off this clown show called Public Health. It should be called Public Death. Review of East Hartford Housing Authority…read more I lived at 83 Connecticut Boulevard, one of the scattered sites managed by East Hartford Housing Authority, and my experience was extremely frustrating. The apartments were infested with mice and ants, making day-to-day living a constant struggle. On top of that, certain staff members--specifically Lynn, Shelley, and Pierre--were unprofessional and unhelpful, which only made matters worse. Residents deserve better, and I hope this feedback pushes the authority to take real action to improve conditions and staff behavior.

I always check it to see the status so I made sure it was correct one on it and now it's saying that I'm not on the list no more I am at my very wits end. I'm about to go down there. This isn't fair. I'm struggling the hardest. I've ever struggled in my life at the age of 32 with two children, I'm trying to get back but how can I? It's so hard it's not as easy as they make it seem and every time they're like yeah I'll help you do this and that it's always a guide to Section 8 a guide to this a guide that I don't need a guide Thanks though.
