BUT! if the clerk suggests the parking structure across the street, i would avoid it unless you can't, (they fail to tell tou about its h. If you end up parking in the structure, park on the upper levels and not in the basement. The basement is the parking for the bauhaus store and the gate gets locked after hours, Sundays and holidays. If you end up getting your car locked in there, the bar around the corner opens at 1300, (there is a map). The guy just opened the bar and we had to ask for him to open the doors and the gate to get out. Not the friendliest of people because he has to close the bar or wait for someone to come watch it. But then again, he didn't have to do it. Show the guy some love if he lets you out. Other than that, the stay was good. Would stay again.

For an older hotel, the rooms are good size and well appointed (strong WiFi, small desk). The gym and pool are both excellent. The buffet breakfast is typical for a good European hotel. A nice selection of breads, cheeses, and meats with eggs available. You can get a custom coffee if you want. The hotel restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, covered for the rain or sun. Much more than a hotel, the apartments in the boarding house feel much more like your own living accommodations for any extended stay. The rooms have large wardrobes, a good size bathroom, and a small kitchenette. There is also an office area which is largely a long desk in the corner with a desk chair which I where I have been spending much of my work hours. The office part is nice, there are plenty of sockets around the room for keeping everything charged. The chair is decent, though after an 8 hour day my back does tend to get a little sore from it as it obviously isn't a top tier office chair. For normal use it is totally fine though. The only issue I have had is with the internet connection. At least there is one and it is pretty reliable and fast enough to get work done, though it is by no means blazing fast. I have tested it between .5 and 3 mb/s averaging around 1.5 mb/s. This is fast enough to do email and work, but uploading pictures is typically something I have to leave running overnight. There is also only a wired connection. Luckily I knew this and brought a wireless router from home, but the expectation these days is for wifi with so many wireless devices. The space around the room is great. There is plenty of room for two people's clothes for 2 months. The bathroom also has good storage. The bed is comfy and the big fluffy comforters are nice and warm. The room tends to get cold during the day when the heat is off, but stuffy in the evening when it turns back on. Thankfully there is a small space heater and the windows open. The area is very convenient. I haven't notice much street noise and I'm a fairly light sleeper. It is a short walk to the main pedestrian area and there are tons of food options around. There is a breakfast available at the hotel on the corner, a bakery o the next block, and a wine bar across the street. Down by the pedestrian area are dozens of great restaurants. The kitchenette is also pretty convenient. Included are 2 sets of bowls, plates, silverware, glasses, and a pot and pan. The stove is a small hot plate but good enough for reheating take out or making something small. With all the great food options around, I havent' been using it much, but it's a good backup. The shower is excellent, very important in my mind when traveling for business. The water gets hot and stays that way instantly and the water pressure is very good. The odd way they make showers in Europe means getting a lot of water on the floor, but wit the good number of big fluffy towels they provide, this isn't a problem. Maid service is twice a week and they change the towels and sheets once a week. If only the tv in Germany was better I'd be staying here indefinitely!
