Tourists beware. We ate here last week and loved it...had great service and food, so we decided to come back with another couple on our last night in Paris, Jan. 1st, 2018. We were seated at 7:10 and no one even made eye contact to ask us what we wanted to drink for 25 minutes. Only the Asian locals were getting waited on. We even literally flagged down three servers to just ask for some water while waiting, and they just used their perfected peripheral vision to pretend we weren't there. Finally, a stone-faced waitress came and with no emotion, asked us what we wanted. I actually ordered the same dish I had three nights before, the beef bibimbap, and with great anticipation, looked forward to enjoying the same delicious dish again. But it arrived with speckles of beef, beef that literally had been crumbled on top of rice, instead of the many usual thin strips. This pathetic representation of meat totaled about 3/4 of a teaspoon, which was totally different than the first night. My husband ordered the same beef and calamari dish that is cooked at the table by the waiter- you are not allowed to cook it yourself for liability reasons- and again, the wait staff, despite us asking for help to manage the high flame and hot pan, just kept walking by. So consequently, his meat was so overcooked and the calamari truly overcooked that neither were eatable.
We own several restaurants and hotels in Philadelphia and travel often. We are always kind, patient and appreciative of others who work in the hospitality business, and always, always leave huge tips. The total lack of service, attentiveness, and care that was displayed in this restaurant the second time around was astounding. How can an experience be so different? Perhaps they were understaffed or someone just didn't show up to work, or a chef was sick...I would have liked to have heard an explanation so we could have been sympathetic, but all we got was a total disregard for the word hospitality, robotic looks, and no service.
And to add insult to injury, again they "claimed" that their cc machine was not honoring any foreign cc's, which left us in an awkward position where our guests wanted to pay for dinner but did not have any cash. This was the case the first night we went there but were told it was the machine that night. I think it is a ploy to get foreigners to pay cash no matter what.
Overall the second experience warrants that we will never dine in this restaurant again and will find other Korean bbq places to give our hard-earned dollars to in the future. read more
