I worried because the antipasti was a huge mound of succulent mortadella, along with olives, chickpeas, sausages, fruity things, and a big slab of ricotta. This looked like it was going to be pricey, and I usually shoot for a 10 Euro lunch, and then came the pasta. It was a cream/mascarpone base with crispy fettucine from oven baking accented by bites of toothy sausage and then covered, yes covered, with shaved truffle, with a sprinkle of parmesan. I mean, it was the best pasta dish I've ever had, times ten, and that antipasti was such a feast, and there were no numbers on the menu, so I slipped an extra 50 Euro out of the moneybelt fearing the worst - - but with the sparking water, the bodacious antipasta, and the best pasta ever, it was 29 Euro. The best 29 Euro ever spent for a lunch, hands down. Went a couple blocks and around the corner and had gelato at La Sorbetteria Castiglione and the day was like frickin' OVER (except for the late passeggiata and pub crawl, after the nap).
