Returned a mail order guitar and was helped immediately because it had some undisclosed damage that was not seen in the small number of photos shown on the ad. I had only 3 days to return it including the day it was delivered because it's a "vintage" guitar. I got my refund processed and purchased another acoustic guitar that was the same vintage guitar model from another Guitar Center at virtually the same price! Shipping was only $22 from Oregon to Atlanta and they included a case at no cost! The quality and condition was excellent for a 50 year old acoustic guitar. Very pleased! This location put me off from ever shopping Guitar Center again. Came in a few weeks ago ready to purchase a guitar and left empty handed as they refused to match a 10% off coupon as advertised. Worked out for me in the end as I ended up finding the exact same guitar $450 off at an independent shop, but the way I was spoken to and the fact the salesperson ran out into the parking lot looking for me after they realized I'd called their bluff are too much to overlook. I dropped my daughter's guitar off to get repaired and tuned in the first week of June 2024. I gave them my phone number to call when it is repaired because she plays it every day. After not hearing from them in 5 weeks, I decided to go back up to see what the problem was. After arriving, we quickly found out that the guitar had been repaired weeks ago. I asked why we were not called and to check my number in the system. My number was correct. The employee mumbled, "I don't know why he is not calling people." While waiting , another parent was going through a similar situation. And to top it all off. While my daughter was smiling with joy playing her guitar. I was told they could not take credit cards or tap. I had to take it back from her and come back tomorrow. SMH............ read more

I bought a used Fender Stratocaster from them about a year ago for $1,400, and I tried to trade it in to go towards a new guitar. They quoted me $270 for a guitar that they admitted they would resell for $1,200. Bunch of scam artists. I've had nothing but negative interactions with them. read more

I do not recommend buying speakers in this store, 7 years ago I bought a professional Yamaha speaker for over $900 dollars and it only lasted me 2 years, they did not replace it or fix it, 3 years ago I bought a cheaper one and it did not last me even a year, they replaced it with another one exactly the same and it broke again and I only use it for the house, I went to the Fayeteville store where I bought it and they simply told me that I had to buy another one because the warranty had already expired, and with bad attitude on the part of their staff. read more

I took my guitar in to get a simple repair (1/4 input jack). It sat there for a week even though the repair technician said it would only take a few days to get to it. If your equipment is cheap don't expect it to get fixed anytime soon they will keep pushing more expensive gear in front of yours. Walked in and wasn't greeted. The guy at the counter went out of his way to look at us then look away when we made eye contact and never spoke. We walked around for about 20 mins and not one person spoke to us. Bought my Ibanez acoustic slim guitar here and I love how there is a sound room for the acoustic guitars, giving you a more clarifying way to listen to the way the guitar plays as you try them out. I'm a fan of nylon strings, in which they have a large collection that are made with nylon. Whenever I visit a city, I'm usually trying to fi d the nearest Guitar Center. read more

Had to go out and ask for help. Guy that came in knew nothing about them. Unit didn't work, didn't offer to get a new one to try out. Ok, thanks for nothing. I always loved going to Guitar Center, especially to try out new kinds of guitars (stuff that I probably wouldn't buy, but then that one crazy one would come along that I just had to have) and they were always real cool about it. However, the last few times I went, the employees have been anywhere from "Meh, I don't actually care about you or your money" to "I'll give you this guitar to try, but I'm doing this 'cause I am a nice guy and you better treat me that way OR ELSE...". In general, they all seem a little aloof and pretty sore. (However, kudos to Heath, who is the only reason I ever went back after the first bad experience. He is excellent, helpful and very friendly) I would recommend to stay away from this store (unless it's for strings or something), and bite the bullet and drive to the one on Northeast Expressway, the people are much more competent and the selection is better. read more

They also have a huge selection of guitar amps. If you need some guitars strings or something now, then this is the place to go. The absolute worst customer service ever received upon entering the store AND leaving......COLD. No one asked me whether or not I needed any help at all! I even purposely stayed looking around an extra 10min just in case just maybe they were short staffed or whatever. Turns out that there were at least 4 employees actively "working", and I say that loosely because as I was approaching the register for checkout, one guy was complaining about hurry out to go get lunch. Guitar Center was not busy or packed, it was a Wednesday afternoon, not even a lot of traffic in the area outside that day. I promise you I was hovering around the register for maybe a minute and a half while they were all carrying on to each other about every time one or the other goes on vacation, when they get back, everything is out of order or upside down.... of course I'm paraphrasing but in so many words that's what they were discussing while I'm sitting there waiting. another guy was sitting across the way struggle playing the guitar while his coworker asked him if he could play something good! So as I stood there I just lifted up the products in my hand as one of the guys finally said he could ring me up. MADNESS. I was excited to get there until I walked through those unwelcoming doors. I even changed my mind on buying quite a few more purchases, but i just left there with an instrument cable and guitar picks. These are the laziest, don't give a care, unprofessional, shooting the breeze so-called Guitar Center employees of Fayetteville, GA I've ever had to encounter in my life! They Suck!! One of the biggest guitar centers around. This store is literally massive, with that though their selection isn't very good. They have tons of guitars, sure but their accessories department is lacking big time in pedals, pickups, and pretty much anything else. The most disappointing thing is their amplifier selection, they have almost nothing to choose from. The amp area consists of a few fenders, peavey vipers, and line6, maybe a DSL. No higher end amps, no Marshall, orange, engl, etc.. I like to try before I buy and here that's pretty much impossible. They also don't stock any high end guitars except for Gibson. 90% of the guitars on hand are sub $1000 Asian made guitars, not a single real prs, esp, or anything of the sort. Went in excited to buy a $1600 piece of equipment from pro audio. The 2 salesmen were behind the counter playing with photos on a personal computer and never turned around to acknowledge me. I walked around thinking they would be done soon. Nope. They were busy laughing and talking to each other. Walked around other departments and no one made as much as eye contact. True, I could have interrupted them, true I drove 15 miles but why? The internet has pictures, demo videos, reviews, and most of the questions that I had are answered. Best believe I will be buying from Sweetwater. Even though I have to wait a few days for the mail, I at least get a bag of candy for my trouble. Guitar Center sales men are horrible. I have been doing business with Guitar Center in Fayetteville for about two years. I really like the store and the employees. Michelle and Keith are who I normally deal with and they are great. But all the staff are friendly and they don't mind if you get "touchy-feely" with the gear. Sure is nice to try it before you buy it. I have only had one incident where I needed to exchange a defective item, and they did it even though it was over the 30 day time period. I've been going to this store for about two years now and actually really enjoy the staff there. Steve Quick and Jake are always very helpful and friendly and the guitar tech, Jerry Lucas does the repairs or restring while I wait. I ordered a bass there once but the guy didn't fill out the paperwork properly. Every time I called back they assured me it was on its way until about a month later when I realized it wasn't going to come. When I finally pressed them on this one of the guys there gave me a hard time for messing up my order. And in general they act like sketchy used cars salesmen who try to get you to buy a new guitar every time you go there. read more
