My 8 year old GE fridge wasn't cooling properly during thanksgiving holidays so I called Gulf appliance, they came out a few days later & diagnosed it & had to order parts & returned 2 weeks before Christmas & installed part. I spent almost $400 to replace the cooling fan, they left that evening & the next morning the fridge was completely frozen up, & everything inside was ruined, and the ice maker & water dispenser quit working, so I called them & they told me it needed a temp sensor & they would come back when parts arrived a little over a week later they came back and installed 2 new parts & another $385 bill, they left & the very next day it done the same exact thing, I called them back & was told it needed a control board which was almost $300 plus another $185 service call, which I couldn't afford till after Christmas, a week later the the fridge door busted open with a huge block of ice buildup & was pouring water from the melting ice & leaking water dispenser from where the water lines inside feeding the ice maker & water dispenser had frozen & busted. So I went from a fridge not cooling, to freezing up after the repair & now completely inoperable after Spending $700 not counting the food that was lost 2 times in a 3 week period. read more
