Our appointment was scheduled for 9:30 a.m., but despite arriving early, we weren't taken to a room until 10:40, and there was only one other patient in the office. The medical assistant asked only a few basic questions and did not gather any medical history or provide new patient paperwork. When Dr. Seeger finally came in around 11:00 a.m., he was noticeably dismissive bordering on rude at best, and only spent approximately 10 minutes with us. He also did not take a medical history or review my son's bloodwork or CT scan, nor were the reports even copied into his chart. Instead, he performed a quick urinalysis and bladder scan--tests that had already been done in the ER and we knew were negative--and disregarded the abnormal CT findings entirely. His comment was, "If he doesn't have a UTI, then nothing is wrong with him." And then he literally dismissed us. My son continues to experience significant pain, yet Dr. Seeger's only recommendation was pain management--at 17 years old, without any attempt to identify the underlying cause. That was an unacceptable answer. The lack of compassion, thoroughness, and professionalism was alarming. I left feeling that my son's concerns were ignored, and that his autism may have contributed to the dismissive treatment. This was not medical care--it was a rushed, impersonal encounter that failed to address serious health issues. He ordered A CT scan of my left kidney & other areas for possible stones and other problems. I really trusted him and his diagnosis. My husband was in so much pain that we ended up in the ER where he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that was throughout his body.
