The greens are phenomenal -- smooth, consistent, and running about a 14.5 on the stimp the day I played. The entire course is lush and green, with an interesting layout that keeps you engaged from the first tee to the 18th green. Pace of play was spot on, and the value is outstanding. My round cost $50 walking or $74.99 with a cart -- easily one of the best deals for a course of this quality in the Lower Lansing / St. Johns area. Service was just as impressive. The cart girl came by at least seven times during my round, always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The staff clearly knows how to run a golf course right. Bottom line -- fantastic conditions, excellent pace, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'd call The Emerald one of the best courses -- and best bargains -- you can find in mid Michigan

We don't have to drive far to get that 'up north feeling' on any of the courses around us including The Emerald Golf Course. I'm excited to have played this course a couple weeks ago and we're heading back today for another round. If for some reason, our experience isn't as great as it was last time, I'll update my review but I don't think there's any reason to expect anything different than our last visit in terms of amazing experiences. People were very friendly at this course and the course maintenance was excellent given that it's not an exorbinantly expensive place to play. Doesn't even deserve a star…read more Our experience at this business was completely unacceptable. My little brother arrived at the golf course and was told to leave the property. When we called to speak with a manager about this disturbing incident, the person who answered the phone was rude, offensive, and even cursed at us. This kind of disrespectful behavior has no place in any business -- especially one that serves the public. We expected professionalism and basic courtesy, but instead we witnessed behavior that was both offensive and deeply concerning. I hope the ownership takes responsibility for this incident and ensures that no one else is treated this way again. Update 11/18/25: I have left two voicemails but they have yet to return my call. They are now getting Google reviews deleted. We wrote on Facebook as well and they responded with gaslight lies then blocked us. All I am asking for is for the owner, Allen to speak with me. But the worst part is the condition of this place. The mats are falling apart. The screens are ripped up. This location looks like it was rode hard and put away wet. They also have rotating beers on tap, plentiful canned and bottled drinks, and liquor. They also have NA beers for those who take it easy. It's not a restaurant, so expect that food will come out as it's ordered, not all together. The bar is centrally located for an easy walk up to order drinks. Staff does it all- teaching, troubleshooting, lessons, making food, and serving drinks, so keep that in mind. They offer leagues all year round and they are so much fun and a great way to meet fellow golfers. I would say prices are competitive with outdoor golfing and it's great for groups. Play options include stroke play, scramble, best ball, and tournaments. Larger groups should expect that they won't finish 18 especially if everyone is playing their own ball. If you don't understand what this place is about, the staff are helpful and will answer any questions about how reservations work. I love this place and will always recommend .
