JTS Remodeling & Restoration - Tile he put in place but did not mortar. Shower was supposed done

    JTS Remodeling & Restoration

Stay far away from JTS Remodeling. This was easily one of the most frustrating, disrespectful, and…read moreunprofessional experiences I've ever had with a contractor. Communication was practically nonexistent. I was constantly left wondering if he was going to show up--no calls, no texts, nothing. When he did show up, it was completely random and usually unannounced, often not until around 5 PM, and he would sometimes stay working until 10 or 11 at night. There was zero respect for my time, my home, or anything I had planned. His attitude only made things worse. He spoke down to me repeatedly in a degrading and dismissive way, as if my concerns didn't matter. Instead of working with me, he acted like I had no say in what was happening in my own home. As for the work itself, it was a mess. After giving an estimate, he started redoing things I never asked him to touch. It felt like he was making decisions on his own, creating more problems instead of solving them. On top of that, the cost was already extremely high for the level of quality I received, which made the entire situation even more frustrating. I also seriously question the level of skill he claimed to have. The project was supposed to take 2-3 weeks, yet over two months later he was still working on something as basic as laying tile. That kind of delay is completely unacceptable. After I finally had enough and let him go due to the constant lateness and issues, he then tried to demand another $1,000, claiming he was owed for supplies--but couldn't provide a single receipt to back that up. When he came to collect his tools (which had taken over an entire bedroom), he even had the audacity to ask for pipe fittings back that he had already installed, claiming they were his and he needed them returned. Between the lack of communication, random late-night hours, unauthorized changes, inflated cost for poor quality work, constant delays, and the disrespectful way he treated me, this experience was an absolute nightmare. Save yourself the stress, time, and money--hire someone else.

Then he wanted money up front to buy supplies. He spent that money on personal expenses and then didn't have the money to buy the supplies to do our job. On the Monday he was due to start our job, after having given him $1,500 on Saturday, he didn't show up. Tuesday rolls around, still a no show. He won't answer text messages or phone calls. When prior to giving him the money he always answered. I had to call his girlfriend on the phone, which I really hated to do, and threaten to have her arrested for theft to get him to return my call. He did show up on Wednesday. He worked for about 4 hours - just long enough to pressure wash our house. He worked Thursday for about 3 to 4 hours. He didn't show on Friday. On Monday he started asking for more money. This was after working less than 8 hours. We ended up giving him another $1,500. He showed up with a few pieces of the worst looking lumber that I've ever seen to put on an $800,000 house. After that he worked Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday each day for 3 to 4 hours - no more but made sure to ask for $1,000 more after we had just given him $1,500 on Monday. After Wednesday, We came in to see the work he had done. It look like someone had worked on our house that had no idea what construction work was. The next day, he didn't bother showing up and I couldn't have been happier. That gave me the opportunity to call him and tell him that we would no longer be needing him at our home. We hire Estes Exteriors to come in and fix the mess he had made and finish what he didn't mess up! We found this fine workmanship that Anthony White had left at our house (this is just one of the examples.) Save yourself a lot of time and money and find another repairman.

Did not even know what kind of wood the floor was, so he left to get supplies and came back with a spray can of sealer. The floor did look a little better when he got done but was not fixed. On top of that he parks in the garage the first time and at the front door the second and third time he came back, and his truck is leaking fluids, so now we have grease spots on the concrete that we will have to get pressure washed. I work for a local company and hired him for this job, paid him more than what he quoted me and will never refer this man for anything!!!! Now he will not return my calls or text!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
