As a Colorado native who grew up eating at Gunther Toody's in Littleton, I have many fond memories of dining here and enjoying the food. Unfortunately, this recent visit did not live up to those memories. The food at this location was average at best. The burger lacked flavor, and the (frozen) fish and chips were served without malt vinegar, tartar sauce, or any accompanying condiments. The larger issue was the service. There were several employees on the floor, yet customers were left waiting at the entrance for several minutes without a host available to greet or seat them. Throughout our visit, service felt inattentive and unengaged. When we requested items that had not been provided with our meal, our server responded in a manner that came across as inconvenienced rather than helpful. To make matters worse, when it was time to pay, we were unable to locate our server and ultimately had to go to the kitchen area to ask someone to print our receipt. This experience was disappointing, especially given the positive memories I have of this restaurant. Based on this visit, I will not be returning to this location and would recommend considering other dining options in the area. read more

My daughter and I came in on a weeknight when it wasn't busy at all, and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The food was the biggest issue. I ordered a patty melt medium and it came out well done. Everything tasted like it had been fried in old oil -- heavy and not fresh. My daughter's chicken and waffles had burnt pieces in it. The rye bread on my burger looked really dark. We were hopeful when the food took a while to come out, thinking it was being made fresh -- but it wasn't, and honestly it upset both of our stomachs afterward. Service was slow and inattentive even though there were barely any other customers. We ran out of ketchup and had to grab it from another table because we couldn't get our server's attention. When my daughter needed water, we had to flag down a different server entirely. The music was also very loud -- I get the fifties diner theme, but it was uncomfortable to have a conversation. We often come here for breakfast. Our food is always good. The service is amazing, everyone is so nice. It's just a really fun place to go.

So we have this place another shot and I'm glad we did. Our waitress (Shanti) was near perfect haha. Smiled and was busy running her tables. This was a huge change from my last visit. We enjoyed the classic design of the place. It was the first time my wife came and she was checking out all of the memorabilia. The chicken fried steak and gravy was really good. My wife and I are sharing our meals now...which means she picks apart my meals and takes what she wants lol. My son got "it's a Wrap" meal and he loved it. This was my third time stopping in to have breakfast in the last three months. Each time I arrived, I waited at the front desk for about five minutes, but no one ever noticed my arrival or seated me. There's no bell to ring. The first and second time this happened, there were no other customers present and I called out. No one greeted me. Today when I decided to try again (there is a sign saying it was under new management). There were customers present, so I felt like I might get seated this time. Nope.... After five minutes I left and went to IHOP. There I was welcomed and seated within 30 seconds. I will not attempt breakfast as Gunther Toody's again. read more

Absolutely filthy inside with tons of garbage under nearly every booth and bench. Took 25 minutes to get water, then another 25 to get 2 kids meals and breakfast food in a half empty restaurant. Employees openly and loudly complaining about being there and wanting to leave really brings down the vibe, even if you can get over the messes at nearby tables. Plus, they brought one kids meal on a blazing hot plate with a crisp pancake that had likely been sitting for way too long. It takes a special kind of restaurant to mess up a kid's meal pancake. Parker has the worst locations of every major chain in Colorado. This is no exception. This place makes Village Inn look like French Laundry in comparison. It's literally worse than Waffle House by a large margin. Nasty. They claim to be under new management. This place needs new owners. It is a restaurant disaster. read more

We waited 45 mins before we where greeted at our table. my cha cha quesidila had half of the ingredients (i went with no pics cus of allergies but it didnt have the beans or sour cream). The table next to us was covered in plates and trash and when we asked our server if it could get cleaned up she only took the plates and cups. The table was still gross the almost 2 in a half hours we where sitting there. Two tables sat after us and got their stuff including the bill before we got dinner. I completely underestimated this 1950s family owned diner. I came in expecting the food to be mid, I was proven wrong. To start the customer service was to tier. Not overly done in a phony or corny way, but a genuine how can I help you lets make this a great experience kind of way. I started with a super thick and creamy milkshake of theirs with chocolate ice cream and Oreos added. The base was actually chocolatey and they loaded it with Oreos! I tried their appetizer sampler with chicken tenders, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, and fried mushrooms. The tenders had this insane crunch that one could only describe having been through this experience, although they could've been seasoned a bit more, with a dip of ranch we were in good company. The mozzarella sticks tasted like the ones you get at the movies, not nasty but also nothing amazing. The fried pickles were an interesting feat. It seemed like the breading and pickle coexisted but on separate planes. Not my favorite out of this meal. My main course I tried their appetizer sampler Ernest Hemingway Burger. This burger was HUGE, like an actual burger should be. The patty was cooked to perfection, although the burger lacked adequate seasoning, it had all the components to make it a great burger just needed one missing piece. I also tried their New Turkey Pesto Sandwich and when I say absolutely delicious I'm not kidding. As a side I chose to do the cheese curds, and I'm sure glad I did. They were light airy pockets of cheese with a little sponginess due to the cheese, and they were crisped perfectly not too crunchy not too soft. I could eat these everyday breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall good service, good food, and even the side sauces yummy, I recommend! read more

First Visit to this new location: We went for a very early dinner at 4 PM, since it was a Wednesday (the day of their BO burger at regular price, GO for $1) and we thought dinner would be jammed. Luckily there was plenty of room and it was not noisy, but the tables were filling steadily. We enjoyed the 50s-60s music, a vibe we recalled. We were pleased to see a server, "Elton," we know from a competing diner, and he claimed us quickly. We both enjoyed our burgers (Patty melt for husband, Gunther's Premium for me - it adds Swiss, sautéed mushrooms and bacon). My burger was done perfectly to my order, and I liked the wheat bun. Husband was thrilled they serve Diet Dr Pepper--his very favorite! My iced tea really tasted like tea (not something I can count on). We ate regularly at another GT location, but stopped going years ago--can't recall why now. "Elton" is terrific and the prices are inviting. We'll definitely be returning to try the all-day breakfast (hubby excited by chicken & waffles, me by relleno plate) and the fish &chips $9.99 on Fridays. read more

I'm glad to have a Gunther's close again. Ventured in on a snowy morning for a very early breakfast. I almost thought they weren't open. There's a small button on the top corner of the hottest stand to ring for service incase you run into this situation. We were then greeted by Lea. A very lovley young lady who took care of all our needs so early in the morning. She appeared to be the only server for the first hour. I kinda get it but not the greatest when you've got a few tables enter at the same time. She did a great job taking care of us all. Was nice to get that diner feeling again and the menu is much improved from what I recall. I had the corned beef hash breakfast..so good but with the shortage of staff my toast was to cold to butter but I lived. Sara had a waffle and of course I had to distract her and stab a square to taste test. Definitely yummie. James had the stuffed hashbrowns. They looked good but by the time I realized we didn't do a taste test, I was already too stuffed to have a taste. Some really great daily specials. As busy as it is we had a table 2 minutes after arriving. Our waitress, Greta greeted us with menus in had and a large welcoming smile. This is truly an American Diner from the 1960s. The booths are very comfortable. The menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The portions are VERY GENEROUS. Our hamburgers were cooked to perfection and the fries were so delicious. Unfortunately my family and I visited and went home with stomach issues. We all ate different entrees (blt, hemmingway burger, and kids chicken tenders). Within 2-3 hours we all have thrown up/had diarrhea. We are disappointed at this establishment as we noted an odd aftertaste to our milkshake and our food. The Belgium waffles and eggs and bacon were good and the server brought out some green chili for the scrambled eggs which was great. Service was great and was very attentive the whole meal. Had a great time at Gunther Toody's. Parking was plentiful. Walked in with a party of 3 and got seated right away on an early Sunday afternoon. Table, chairs and floors were clean. Very fun 50's diner themed and heard music from the jukebox playing tunes. Not too loud where you couldn't hear others at the table or the servers. Our server "Kenickie" was quick in taking our drink order, the menu was simple and diner food was what you would expect at most diners. They have boozy shakes and some beer options. The food was pretty tasty. They forgot to bring a chocolate malt that was ordered and they took it off the bill , they also took the additional beverages off to make it right , oh and made the chocolate malt to go as we were leaving. That was cool of them. I liked the fun names they let the servers chose for themselves. The prices were not outrageous. I also liked that some of the servers dressed up in 50's style. I took one star off because the menu is not that vegan or vegetarian friendly. They did have a veggie patty as a burger option. I'll be back to try one of their desserts and to try out the dinner menu. read more

Ok so the food amazing the staff amazing the decor are also amazing. But they are really understaffed and one of the employees seemed to be crying ,pretty sure she quit and then our server came up to us trying to hold it from crying and said the manager was being super rude and mean and that she was gonna quit and she gave us the money thing we paid and tipped 24%. We feel so bad and we hope she is ok but us and 3 people have food and everyone else is just sitting here and what does the manager do? He gos to the bar area and those people just sat down and there are people here that have been sitting here for an hour. This place is 5 stars but the manager needs to be fired. Tried this location for the first time with my family of 7. Went around 2pm on a Tuesday, so not busy at all (90% of tables were empty). Food was bland and inconsistently cooked. (My hash browns were literally raw, but my sons chicken tenders were burnt) Service was terrible. Never got silverware. Had to hunt down a random worker to get some do that we could eat our food that had already been delivered 5 minutes earlier by a food runner, not our server. Also had to ask for refills (our one and only refill during our lunch) since our server was completely MIA. Didn't get syrup, had to ask for that. $150 later (no alcohol, just food and soda), I will never go back to this place. read more

We went to eat breakfast today and Suprisingly it was not busy for a Sunday. Service was not great! Our waitress Nadine checked on us once for drink order, once to take food order, and to bring us our check. After asking someone else for a coffee refill she did manage to come for the refill but not once stopped by because it was the right thing to do not even to make sure we got our order correctly. We finally tried the Parker location of Gunther Toody's and had two great meals - the John Wayne burger with a fried chilis rellenos on top, and the Thunderbird battered chicken sandwich. They were well prepared (though the chilis rellenos could have used a lot less batter) and very tasty. Service was great, no wait, our waitress was at the table just enough, food was warm. We will be here again. I know after some bad reviews last year that they made some changes. Don't expect the well intended snark like you get from other Gunther Toody's. They must have gotten rid of that fun element to make patrons feel less intimidated. On a Friday night at 6pm, it should have been much busier with the tables full and maybe a wait. None of that happened. I hope patrons come back because it really was a good meal and a nice atmosphere. read more

5 stars for service and manager on shift yesterday morning (Veteran's Day). 1 star for cleanliness, kitchen (quality, speed). Our waiter was very nice and wonderful, he let us know there was something wrong with the pancake batter so to not order the pancakes. We got a free veterans meal for my father in law and the atmosphere was nice. The bathrooms were so dirty, we were there at 8:30 am for context, the booster seats were sticky and we had to clean ourselves, our server did offer to help. But the rest of the restaurant, you could just tell it was not a new or well kept building. The food took forever to come out. About 30-40 mins. They did send a kids meal out first which we appreciated but my toddler was done eating before our food even came. And she takes a while to eat. One customer left because their food never came. When we did get our food all our eggs looked like they were greasy and sitting under the headlamp for I have no idea how long. They were almost orange in color and not appetizing. Frustrated to accept an uncharged for those and them to come out the way they did. Our first trip in a few months ago was much better but we will not be back for a while until they figure some more things out there. It's a shame as this restaurant was highly anticipated. read more

I popped in on a whim after dinner plans fell through. I didn't have "diner" on my mind but when I drove past a full parking lot at 6:15 on a Friday night, I figured "why not". I sat at the counter and was greeted immediately. When taking my drink order the server asked me if I wanted a handmade shake and the words "Yes please. Strawberry!" came out of my mouth". The shake was divine and had small chunks of strawberries settled at the bottom. To balance out my sugar spike, I ordered country fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli. While I waited I listened to the 1950s and 60s music playing overhead, and soaked up the motif of nostalgia. My food came out relatively quickly and was piping hot. The steak batter was crispy with the appropriate level of seasoning. The potatoes were delicious but the brown gravy was a tad on the salty side. After my 15 minute labor of love I called it a night. This was certainly not the meal I had in my mind when I left the house, but I was satisfied after I walked out the door to return home. I plan on returning with my family for them to enjoy the classic Americana diner experience. read more

The staff was friendly and food came out pretty fast. The food itself was very under seasoned and essentially bland. I have to add lots of salt / pepper and ketchup to make it fairly tasty. The pancakes looked very dry but tasted good. The eggs needed help because it tasted like no seasoning was added at all. Hash browns were undercooked when I even asked for extra crispy. Tenders were ok but wouldn't order again same for the mozzarella sticks. Biscuit was very dry and lacked flavor. Bacon and sausage were ok. Overall I don't think I'd come back here as it was a bit out of the way but I wanted to give it a shot. Prices were very good but I suppose you get what you pay for. read more
