Worth a try. Shoes carry meaning and our weight, protect us, serve us... they are personal reminders of where we've been...and then we throw them out. Really... I hesitate before passing them on, either to recycling or the waste bin. We are so fortunate to live in the day of less expensive shoes, and the internet where you can buy almost anything. I love my shoes. Did I mention that I love my shoes? So... I go to pick up my repaired shoes, and he did a stellar job on the 2 out of 3 pairs... the others, he even told me... he'd try... but 'they had lived their time' he said. He thought all of them had. I was elated to have my comfy wonderful loafer/moccasins back, and they're great! I asked how much I owed him, and he said, "Nothing. 'Cause I can't guarantee they'll stay. They've lived their time." My gosh, people, I felt bad to have wasted his time with any of them, and even when I insisted on paying, he said no and turned to another client. I don't expect to have something for free, really, ever. What a blessing. This person is one of the very few who are left on the planet repairing shoes. The least thing I felt I could do for him, is bring him in some sort of other shoes where he will charge me, and write this review claiming him to sainthood.

There was a run on ammo back then so a trip there a week to buy ammo was necessary. Last year, I finally bought a gun there. It's a Mark IV 22 that is an absolute joy to use for target shooting. The ammo is not that expensive so shooting 2-4 boxes of 22's sets you back $20 - $30. Overall, I enjoy going to Apache especially during their advertised sale which they don't do very often. I'm not into guns like my brother in law but he gets me in there at least 4 times a year. It's a grand place to look at guns and has a great shooting range with a very helpful, competent and professional instructor. I've tried their shooting range and it's very nice. They also have in house classes for everything about gun ownership and shooting exercises. One caution, it is a very expensive hobby. Just wanted to share that with you!

She explained the layout of the store, invited us to browse, and struck the perfect balance between giving us space to look and being available whenever we had questions. We never felt pressured, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Before coming in, we had gone through a disappointing experience with a big-box jeweler out of San Antonio. We waited six months for a custom 25th anniversary ring to be built, only to receive a final piece that was crooked and poorly made. After that, we were very discouraged about starting the process over, so we decided to search rings styles online in hopes of finding something ready-made. I came upon a beautiful semi-mount in an online supplier's catalog, but wasn't sure if I could even find a jeweler who had access to that manufacturer. A few days later, we walked into Diamonds of Kerrville on our way to San Antonio (without any expectations, just sheer curiosity). We spotted a stunning cluster diamond ring in one of the cases and decided to purchase it for when we travel (SCORE!). While getting sized for that piece, I happened to show Dara the anniversary ring design I saved on my phone, but didn't say the name of the manufacturer. I expressed my anxiety about trying to find another jeweler that could create something like what I envisioned. She offered to check their catalog to try and find something similar to the picture I had (I said "sure, why not")... and to my surprise, it was the EXACT SAME SUPPLIER. This is too good to be true! So now, not only can we order the VERY ring I fell in love with, but we get to work with this amazing, friendly and knowledgable company... right in our home-town. Their stellar customer service made the experience even better! Martin and Sherrie were amazing and answered all my questions about the design process (plus I got a very informative crash course on stones, settings, appraisals, and practical tips for day-to-day wear). This was our first purchase from Diamonds of Kerrville, but it definitely won't be our last. I'll be sure to update my review with photos once my anniversary ring is finished!
