The food was excellent and it's a great place to get a meal. Really cool mix of a historical building with modern casual American vibes. A good amount of TVs but it isn't loud and in-your-face. Beef on weck was big and delicious. Quality and flavor were top notch! Salmon plate was good YOU HAVE TO GET IT WITH SCAMPI BUTTER OMGGGGG it's unreal how good that sauce it. They need to feature that more bc it's SO GOOD. Fish and chips were big, fresh and hot. Great coleslaw. The fries are REALLY REALLY GOOD so don't skip them! One of the best tasting fries I've ever tried. It did take little bit of time to get our food but everything was so hot and so fresh that we didn't care. We will definitely be coming back. It was a pleasant dinner, they got us seated right away. We got the fried calamari to start and it was very good, I ordered a Long Island that was tasty but I asked for it to be strong... it wasn't strong so while very tasty... not worth it. I ordered the Philly steak sandwich and it was huge! I liked it but my husband said his Au Jus sauce wasn't flavorful enough for him. The Mac and cheese with bacon was good, the boneless wings were good and had crunch but my friend said the original BBQ sauce wasn't great. The wait staff was great! This place is absolutely amazing. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is spectacular. Service isn't quick and finding parking is atrocious, but the food is worth it. Sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and the honey mustard served with the fries is the best I've had in years. Fried ravioli with alfredo and marinara sauce served with breadsticks was also amazing. Servings were large and makes the price worth it. Even though I have been coming to Prescott for almost 10 years now, last week was my first visit for dinner. It was Tuesday night and the dinner traffic was slow so it was very easy to get a table near the bar. The menu here is varied with different food types and the beef stroganoff sounded good so I went with that for $13.95. The meal came out in about 10 minutes. It looked nice sitting in the bowl but was only average in taste. It tasted more processed (pre-made from a bag) than homemade with the word "bland" popping up in my mind while eating it. I wouldn't say it was bad, I just hoped for better. One item of improvement would have been to include some bread with this meal. If I returned I would order something else just to try other menu items. This meal rated a 2.5 but I will round up to a 3 because I think the food here is decent. Not the fanciest place but food and service was great. Staff came by often to check on us. Started with the onion rings which were very good, great flavor and crisp. You'd think onion rings would be simple but I've had many bad ones so it was nice to have some good rings. I got the cheese steak which was good, great flavor and came with some dipping juice. Fries were pretty good also. Wife got a sirloin and said it was very good, cooked correctly, good flavor. She also said the mashed potatoes were great. The outside of this place looked super inviting, so we decided to step in for lunch. The servers are all very friendly, but I think they might currently be understaffed because service was very slow. It took about ten minutes to be seated even though tables were obviously open, and it took about half an hour after ordering for food to arrive. It looked like they only had one host and one server on duty. The food tastes fantastic though, and they do have limited vegetarian/vegan options. I had the southwest black bean wrap without a tortilla and without cheese, and I was very happy with my meal. It also came with a nice side salad. Food was excellent, service was okay. I NEVER post reviews- but man this experience was off putting. Keep in mind I've served and bartended for almost 7 years. My husband and I are new to town, and have been checking out the local spots to eat and it was time to try Gurley St. we walk in, the place is empty besides one table, and we typically like to sit at the bar so we head straight there. The bartender looks at us, doesn't say much and asks for our IDs. I'm 29 and he's 35- I look young for my age and commonly get carded so no biggie. Since moving to Prescott though, I have not. It's when he looks at our IDs, runs them through the machine and then gives my boyfriend his and says he needs to take a closer look at mine. At this point it's almost been 5 minutes and not even a can I get you a water while you wait. He proceeds to go upstairs and I assume talks to his manager- why? Not really sure. It's not a fake and it has all the stamps and engravings. This honestly turned us off to dining here because there was zero explanation for this super weird macho behavior. So when he came back after almost ten minutes of us being seated we got my id back and went and had an amazing experience at Park Plaza instead. read more

I would give them a 0 if it was possible. On 12/14/24 I stopped in for dinner. I ordered a Gurley Grill Philly Steak sandwich . It looked a bit odd when it came, like it had been out for a while. I noticed that the cheese on the meat was very hard like it had been under a heat lamp for a while. I tried to re-assemble it, but one of the bread pieces was so soggy I could not pick it up. I tried to cut it in half, but it was so tough the knife just tore it up and made a real mess of it. I began eating it with knife and fork. I don't like to complain or make a scene so I continued to try to eat it, but only managed to consume about half of it. I gave up. Next time the waitress stopped by to ask how my meal was, I told her it was awful. She offered to give me another or speak with the chef, but at this point, I had no interest in either choice. We ordered the chipolte burger meal and the chicken pot pie and sweet potato fries for pickup when we were across town, we still had to wait for over 1/2 hour when we got there. Complained to hostess she said they were busy with a wedding party. When we got home the hamburger was over cooked and hard and I could not eat it. We ate half the pie it just did not taste right. Weekdays Lunch time is a no go for me it seems that's when I got the slowest service even when it wasn't busy. I went on a Saturday evening and I got fantastic service from a blonde girl who I can't remember her name but she's been there for about 2 yrs and she was quick and on top of my boyfriend and my drinks and she had a great upbeat personality. I really like their pot pie, I love my comfort food. I've never had a bad meal just not the greatest service. I know that if I go here i can't have things to do after because it might take awhile. It's called the Gurley Street Philly Steak with roast beef sliced thin and sautéed with peppers, mushrooms and onions, served with Swiss cheese on a toasted sub roll. The beef was excellent. We went to Gurley St Grill during Prescott's annual Acker Night Christmas event. The restaurant was hustling! Kudos to the staff for their excellent customer support skills!! It's always a challenge to get a decent rare hamburger and they nailed it! It literally was one of the best burgers I've had in the area and at $10.99, it was a super deal! Visiting from out of town for a one day trail in The Valley . Our choice of restaurant was another based on Yelp review . We were surprised to be told there 'we will not take you' . We walked a few blocks through downtown an decided on Gurley's . We had a table right away . We had service quick . Our waitress was attentive and efficient . Our chipotle burger had tasty and spicy bacon . Our beef on weck had a great dip with zesty grilled onions . What made this out of town experience exceptional was the service finale . It started Pouring outside and our waitress said ' you are welcome to stay as long as you'd like, it's raining .' As we decided to leave our table and head to the front , we realized we were not the only family with a child . All local patrons were also patiently waiting. Restaurant's' generosity and hospitality was for all , including those walking out of the rain and a family parked outside in their vehicle . A waitress ran outside in the rain to assist with food and juice as someone's family member was having a seizure in their car . Stayed in Prescott for the night to escape the heat of the Valley. Before leaving town I stopped in for a quick lunch and beer. Posted up at the (small) bar but was immediately greeted for they had just opened. Wanted something "light" so I went with a wrap and some type of orange beer. Beer tasted like an orange creamsicle, loved it. The wrap was also pretty good, got chips for the side. Chips were amazing, they reminded me of chips from a local bar back in my hometown. NOT GAY FRIENDLY. My husband and I just had lunch there. A customer sitting across the bar from us made very disparaging comments about us to the bartender Tanya. We were simply drinking our beer and quietly talking. The customer asked the bartender why "we" have to come to small towns and do what we were doing. First, we live in Prescott. Second, we were simply talking - not loudly, not in any affected manner. Just talking. No other customers in the area even looked at us. The bartender went along with the customer's comments, which made us even more uncomfortable. I haven't experienced this kind of blatant discrimination in decades. read more
