I didn't have the experience I expected to have with Gus'. It came so highly reviewed online and by friends so maybe I came on an off day. But the food seemed very "regular" and I missed out on the hype of the big portions and "worth the price" flavors. There were many menu options and kind service but I wish I could say more about the food. I got the Submarine and really expected much more reading the description. The quality was very much like the sandwiches that you can get in the fridge in the lunch room. I would like to go back for a more "meatier" sandwich but I'm worried for a back to back bad experience. I'll give it another try and hope for redemption read more

Also ordered a fresh Dill pickle that we had quartered and I'll for sure get another next time I visit! Uppon arriving, the staff was very nice, greeted you and immediately asked to take our order. I went in for a tuna melt, and my boyfriend asked for the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Tuna melt wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. I ordered pasta, and they forgot to add in our bag, and with 90dg weather, they can keep it. The submarine sandwich was the most disgusting sandwich I've ever had. The slices of meat were not deli, they were store bought from Food4Less it appeared. Low quality meat, low quality bread. I didn't even finish the sandwich, I threw it away , wasting $20. Never again will I go to this establishment. Do not order the Submarine. It tanked! 0 stars if I could. read more

About time I did a review...long time customer. Great owners, great employees never had a problem. This was my go to after work spot to get an ice cold beer for a while. You order up front they bring you your food. Steak sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, pastrami sandwich, tri-tip sandwich, bacon cheeseburger all highly recommend. All come w fries except the grilled chicken sandwich. Can't go wrong w any of those. To be honest i dont think I ever tried the bbq ribs or chicken. It's always been one of the sandwiches listed above or a bacon cheeseburger (you can taste the freshness of their burger patties). You can sit inside or outside in the patio. So my husband has been talking about this place since he had lunch here a few months ago and has been raving about the pulled pork sandwich. He finally took me today and I had to try the pulled pork sandwich. So I did so and I must say this was a pretty dang good sandwich. The bread wasn't hard at all it was soft the meat was good and the sandwich was stuffed just right. The bbq sauce on the sandwich wasn't too sweet or too tangy it was a perfect combo. The ambiance of this place is super cute and clean definitely an old school butcher shop vibe I thought it was the perfect little spot for a simple bbq. They do have meats you can try there. Came here yesterday when they had the car show Costumer service is really bad the girl at the front counter is rude she isn't friendly at all Food was cold when we finally got it we had to go up to the counter after the first 40 minutes to ask for our drinks she was a bit annoyed wanted us to wait for the food I guess lol but yea won't eat here ever again read more

I stopped by here because I was starving and it was the closest thing to my church. I wasn't expecting much because the reviews are not great but I was extremely impressed! I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich and it was amazing! The bread was so fresh and soft. The meat and sauce was so flavorful. The fries were a perfect consistency and great seasoning! Came here, food is just ok. Came here for a steak sandwich, the price is on the expensive side. They advertise the meal with a side of pickles. Turns out they ran out, and they didn't offer to substitute neither. So if you ask me if I'll ever come back, unfortunately no. Good luck, you may have a better experience than I did. read more

This is part food joint part local butcher. In the same room that you can order a 2 Lbs. roast you can order BBQ food and some non-BBQ food. Heads up they have More sandwiches than anything. When you walk up to order food the first thing you might notice is that the food is in a warming box similar to walking up to the deli at your local market. They have the chicken, ribs, meatloaf, and a few other items for you to see. Once you order they bring your food to you. For the food being done it took a while. It's all on paper plates and plastic utensils. And the biggest thing is the food was just meh. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. The food was fair, but way WAY overpriced. We had a roast beef sandwich, (which came with no fries or drink) and a pulled bbq chicken sandwich. The total was $29.85. The shop is clean, but there is also a meat counter. I'm not a vegetarian, but it was still a little unnerving. To be eating and having a cow's skull in the case looking right at you! Gross! The pulled pork sandwich might be ok for people who have no idea what a good pulled pork sandwich should taste or look like. It is absolutely drenched in what tastes like store bought bbq sauce. The fries are technically fries, but not really worth eating for any logical reason. Being VERY generous with 3 stars. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Gus's for the past 5 years. Service is friendly. Each time we have visited the food has been of good quality and nice portions. We recently made a visit to Gus's and we each ordered their hot meatloaf sandwich, which comes on a soft warm roll, with mayo - lettuce - and sliced tomato. We each ordered a small side of coleslaw. We both enjoyed our meal. We couldn't believe the size of the slice of meatloaf about 2.5" wide. It was delicious, seasoned just right - not too tomato tasting like acidic, instead it was like biting into a savory moist delight. Bread was fresh and their coleslaw is okay, but we might get the macaroni salad next time. As of late, with so many restaurants and eateries cutting corners and serving mediocre food, Gus's is still serving good food and we will be back again to continue to support them. read more

Now on to the travesty, the meat. The theme for today was dry, old and shameless. The pork was somehow undercooked and dry. Which if you can endure the cruelty, is actually kind of impressive. The brisket resembled beef jerky. I'm including pictures of the brisket since those speak much more eloquently than I can. I love to cook and I infamously over season my dishes. But all these meats were at a whole another level. Not salty but aggressively peppery and just ham handed. The rub was flavorful but it blew out my palette instantly. Please take this to heart: less is more. In terms of meat quality? Cheap. My Dad is a butcher, I can tell. Everything being reheated did the meat quality no favors either. The seasoning was further exacerbated because the ribs, both dino and pork, were almost entirely bone. So you have a ton of seasoning on a lick of meat. It was a recipe for disaster. And price? Expensive, especially for what I received. Insulting for what I received. I'll end it here. I don't want to waste your time like this place wasted mine.

It doesn't taste the same, and the prices have gone up to the point where it no longer feels worth it. I ordered my usual: the Queen Size Prime Rib with beef barley soup and all fries. The prime rib was honestly terrible -- I'm not sure if it was the cut or the au jus, but something tasted off and seemed overcooked for medium rare. The beef barley soup was just okay, nowhere near as good as I remember. The garlic bread was still good, and the fries were just plain, nothing special. Overall, I left really disappointed. This place used to hold a lot of good memories from family dinners, but it just isn't the same anymore.
