To know you're eating a good curry look around you. Do you seen any Asians in the restaurant? If not, why not? Surely if the food was good, the people who founded this cuisine should be eating there right? Why is it only white people? Here the place was full of people who know Indian/Pakistani good the best. The descendants of the people who brought it to Blighty. None of the mass produced food that is swamped in sauce. (The sauce holds the spice & flavours, not the food) Here the actual food is spiced, so you can say for certain that there isn't a bucket of sauce that was prepared at the start of shift. Everything is cooked to order. Cooked just for you. Give this place the pleasure of serving you. Your eyes will be open to how the food should be.

A complete different dish by now I have eaten half way and she is still sitting there, asked for vegetables with no spices that came after a while, this time new potatoes next to nothing vegetables washed and microwaved all chewy, she is a diabetic and needs carbs, one new potato isn't good enough, asked for the new potatoes, some form of tin potatoes with funny taste microwaved again.... by now I have finished my food and she still had to deal with the dish that the chef can't get right for the third time, asked for a latte in the start glass cup dirty and latte tasted foul watery milk next to nothing?? We were supposed to have a nice meal eat together yet I finished mine and she was completely put off. Complained about the whole experience at the till got £2.10 knocked out.... Never again ... We have been there before and it was a nice experience but this was totally opposite the chef doesn't know what to do... When I approached the counter and asked to upgrade to a large sandwich, I was informed it wasn't possible. I then ordered a ham and cheese toastie and requested some tomato and lettuce, only to be told it wasn't an option for that particular sandwich. I wasn't offered an alternative or an upgrade, which was disappointing as a sandwich without any salad isn't quite the same. The manager's response wasn't very helpful either. Despite this, when it was time to pay, the machine suddenly went down, causing me to miss out on my points. As a regular customer, I believe a full refund for today's experience is fair. I understand now that the ham and cheese sandwich doesn't come with salad, but this detail was not very clear in the tiny print or the pictures displayed at the entrance.

It lies on Burley Road near the LGI but on the Burley side rather than the town centre side. They provide freshly made food for breakfast and lunch, including smoothies, panini's and baguette's, specialising in fair trade coffee. There are more than the usual array of condiments to choose from - cranberry sauce, pesto, mango chutney, French AND English mustard! The wooden tables by the window are great to sit at and watch the world pass if you don't opt to take away. The guys behind the counter are friendly and up for a bit of banter as you order a sandwich, which warmed me to the place even more!

Today feta cheese, humous and peppers, the day before brie and cranberry, tomorrow Vintage Cheese and chilli chutney. And not one of these will cost me over £2.80 for the privilege. Theres a selection of drinks too, including a particularly fine ginger beer. For those of you who indulge your sweet tooth on a regular occasion theres also a selection of cakes and brownies. You can even sit and eat in if you fancy (and luckily avoid the rush for the sparse seating). They've a little tele in the background (responsibly set to the bbc most days) and hot drinks on tap. Eating in or takeaway you'll be engaged in pleasant conversation, the owners are great fun and after only three visits seem to remember my name and preferences in food. Almost all the leaflets we get are for takeaway places and one such place was Greasy Pig. When we flicked through the menu and had a look at all the food items we were shocked and amazed at how big and delicious everything sounded. Naturally we wanted to give a new place a go and our first order consisted of 2 "big dogs" with a couple of milkshakes and a stack of pancakes with maple syrup, it was quite pricey but the portions were alright. Our second order consisted of another "big dog" but my order was the chilli with seasoned fries. Again, the "big dog" was not disappointing however, the "chilli" was a very big let down for the price that was paid for it. It consisted of a big pile of seasoned fries with a small amount of chilli plopped on top. Anyone that has ordered from here before knows that the chilli comes as an added option for £2.50 and you get a small pot of it. It feels like two or three of these small pots were used and it could hardly be called "chilli." I feel I would get a cheaper, better effect by buying some seasoned chips and a can of chilli con carne from my local grocery store. This didn't put me or my girlfriend off though, as the other items sounded pretty good and we at least wanted to try some other things before we gave this place the seal of approval. This, however, is where the problems began, as since our first two orders, we haven't been able to order anything since! The third time we tried they said they shut at 6, which we didn't know because it was such a small change to the second menu that came through the door about a month or so later that I just threw it away and kept the first one. The fourth time we tried to order was yesterday (Friday, 29/01/2016) and they said that it was collection only, "since when?" we asked only to get a "Since today, we don't have a driver." This was only a small blip, so we gave them a try today only to be told that they don't deliver on weekends! Y'know, the days when people actually want takeaway food the most!! I would have said that I admire their honesty but with a different excuse everytime we rang up, it's hard to tell if and when they are actually being honest. They get two stars as a takeaway but only for the delicious food.

Think of something the size of your head, add salt & vinegar & dive in. The place was opened under some controversy as it was a pub conversion that had been a curry house. Another chippy caused some anger with the other chippys in the area. Thus the windows have been smashed in on a few occasions. But I think that's over now. The layout is clean with historical photos of Keighley blown up & used as wallpaper. A good touch that shows the roots of the town. Now if they'd only asked me before they used my photos.... :)

Very clinical. But hey.. I am there for chips, not a romantic candlelit dinner. They have now changed the name to Stockbridge arms as they stepped out of the franchise.
